Well...if you're dead, you're not gonna be needing it. And if you're not dead, that's all for the best!

All right. I made an attempt in M&R.

It failed.

I'm not even going to try with the catholic bashing threads.

Yes. It's awful.

At least I have a point of comparison. When I began in march, there was quite a bit of strong, thoughtful debate. There was a lot of call for citing sources, and for real effort of thought. Yes, we had ranters and madmen, but it seemed that the overwhelming voice was opposed to such folks.

I tried two threads. In one, I ended up debating with someone who believed his secondhand impression of the bible merited more respect than actual scripture. In the other, I got to listen to the 'Bible according to Neil Gaiman' in a lilith discussion. As before, I got angry, my blood pressure went up, and I had to refrain from posting after a time, lest I do myself physical harm.

It's not that people are ignorant. It's the will to ignorance, the preference of ignorance that bothers me.

*hugs*

We're trying to keep the discussion intelligent, if nothing else... And I'm doing all I can to keep the forum clean from spam, trolling and repeats, at least. sweatdrop
