Amelia felt a little surprised as she felt Renault's arms wrap around her, and then holding her tight to his warm chest, and she closed her eyes. She hugged him back, smiling a little. "You're welcome," she murmured. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been hugged by her father. Years, at least ten years since he died. Amelia tightened her hold a little. She wasn't going to let this parent get wrenched away from her.

"Mmm... what?"

Rhys frowned. Healing? That was a word that always made him jar himself awake. If healing was needed, he would be there. No question. With some effort, he wrestled himself awake. "Right. Be right there."

Not bothering to put boots or over-robes back on, Rhys tromped back up the stairs, finding Renault looking... tired and a bit bloodied. Thankfully, staves were never far away at the manor--Rhys had merely to reach toward an umbrella stand and pick out a black umbrella, specially crafted to double as a Heal staff. Very handy when he had to walk out in the rain.

Next, he examined Renault's injury. "A lung? I can patch it, sure. Just don't do anything rash for a little while, Father--you're going to cough up the extra blood out of your lungs first."
A second later, the staff glowed, and the wound quickly mended. It had been a bit deep, but it was nothing a basic staff couldn't handle.

Ganon smiled after tucking Amara into bed. The noise outside was irrelevant. As Ganon drew his claws across the strings, a warm silence descended around them, and he wove Bardsong across the ether between the strings of his guitar. Softly, as he played, he began to sing in a soft, rich baritone.

"One ship is sailing,
Over the deep blue sea.
One sail is billowing,
Billowing the sweet baby.
Home flies the yellow bird,
Down sinks the red, red sun.
Close, close those sleepy eyes,
Baby's day is done.
Close, close those sleepy eyes,
Baby's day is done.

One ship is sailing,
Off to a faraway land.
Blue water rippling,
Kissing the silver sand!
Blow, blow, the breezes blow,
Cooling the baby's brow,
Soft, soft, the breezes blow,
Baby's sleeping now.
Soft, soft, the breezes blow,
Baby's sleeping now."

He continued to play through an improvised bridge, watching Amara throughout the song go from anxious to sleepy, until now he could see the limits of sleep beginning to break over her barely-moving eyelids.

"One star is shining,
High in the evening sky.
Just over baby's head,
Soft as a lullaby.
That's where the sandman lives,
Downward the sandman flies!
Here comes the sandman now,
Closing the baby's eyes.
Here comes the sandman now,
Closing the baby's eyes."

He smiled and hummed the last verse-- a repetition of the first-- as he saw little Amara's eyes shut and stay shut, but he continued to play until the end of the song. He let the last note ring before damping it with his claw, and listened to Amara's quiet, steady breathing.

As silently as an eight-foot reptile can, he crept out the door and closed it behind him before making his way back toward the living room.

Walking out, Nometal then went over to a wall then leaned against it. That worked, yet something does feel wrong...against Nils...so something did happen to him.

Clop-clop-clop, clop-clop-clop, clop-clop-clop, clop-clop-clop.

The messengers rode forward, urging on their steeds. They knew full well they hadn't been pursued, but their business was urgent. The manor was at last in sight, though, and at last the horses slowed, coming to a complete stop just outside the door.

Knock, knock, knock, the front door said aloud to the room at large.

After a moment, the man sighed, feeling the relief. "Ah. . . all right, that's good." He smiled at the bishop momentarily. "Thank you, Rhys. That's extremely helpful. And you're quite good at this." Well, though he hadn't actually done anything, he'd weakened two of their enemies further, and it seemed he'd curried the Lady Saint's favor.

Instead of getting up just yet, though, Renault stayed there, holding Amelia against him. It felt good, to have someone to actually care about; and it seemed the Goddess approved of this as well. She was a strong girl, but he would still hold on to her. And of course. . . there was Rhys as well. Though he was odd at times, Renault approved of them being together; the bishop was a kind man.

Of course, the knock at the door brought him out of his thoughts. But he didn't really feel like moving yet. "Kishuna. Get that door, would you?" he asked.

Kishuna grumbled a bit, but turned and opened the door. "Yeah, what do you want?" he asked, a bit sullenly, to the messengers outside. "Unless it's something important, make it quick." But he didn't block their way if they wanted to enter.

"E-e-e-e-"
"Move it, chowderhead!" the other growled, pushing his stuttering companion aside. "Milords, miladies... Eyris is under attack. A man appeared and caused heavy losses among the castle guard. Worse yet, other guards are turning on their former comrades. Sir Tibarn... is doing the same. As we left... he turned on the guards and began to kill them. I fear whatever is going on, Eyris may not last much longer before the entire city crumbles into chaos!"

Looking up when they said, move it Nometal then came alert that something was up. Then, he was in full alert when they said, Eyris is under attak. Grabbing his blades, he then went over and said, "We have to get there soon, or we may be doomed."

(I hate having to get off so early, and right as some good action is about to begin.)

Chad heard Renault stumble through the door and fall into the chair, breaking the vase. He turned and saw Nometal heading in a direction after being told to get Rhys and saw him pass Amelia. He surveyed the current group, noticing Renaults wound. Damn that looks nasty! About a minute later Rhys emerged from a room and got to work healing Renault.

The knock at the door startled Chad. He noticed some shirtless guy open it. Wait. A shirtless guy? When the hell did he get here? Somehow Chad had managed to completely miss Kishuna, probably because he was still a little worried about what Siegell had said, he souded like he would actually gut on of them. Especially when he picked up that glass and began looking around.

The content of the message disturbed him. One man alone caused heavy losses. Comrade turning on comrade. And the mention of this Tibarn, the fact the messenger felt the need to mention him by name meant he was either very dangerous, or very important, possibly both. Predicting there was a battle to come, Chad skulked off to his room to pick up his killing edge. No way was he relying on a dagger and some knives to get him through this.

Worse yet, other guards are turning on their former comrades. Sir Tibarn... is doing the same. Sue let the messenger's words sink in, and the gravity of the situation weighed down on her. Asami's venom... or whatever it happened to be was spreading at a rapid pace. It would soon consume Eyris and all of Learania if it wasn't stopped. "King... Tibarn." she muttered. She handn't known him personally, but she saw his ascension ceremony to be Crew. Not to mention, he was a Laguz King, to be respected as a chief in Sacae tradition like the leaders of other nations. Shooting him down to knock him out for a treatment of Victoria's tome would be tough.

Not to mention, like everyone else, she was tired. So very tired. The nomad would honestly kill for a good night's sleep without drama. How could the flowers and the trees and the many other wonders of nature possibly carry on as they do now? How could spring continue with so much chaos afoot? There were no answers to these questions, nor Sue's prayer for a moment's rest. "What area of Eyris is King Tibarn in at the moment?" she asked one of the messengers. "That's..." she looked at her silver bow with the utmost regret and resolve all at once. "That's all I need to know."

Renault looked up from where he sat tiredly. He himself was in no condition to fight anything; and he doubted he'd be much good against Tibarn in any case. The Hawk King was far too fast. Sue was their best bet at the moment. So then. . .

". . . We're counting on you," he told the girl gently. At the very least, he could offer some small words of encouragement. "It needs to be done. . . and Tibarn is counting on you as well, to save him, even if he needs to be injured to do it." He forced a smile onto his lips, to give her at least a small measure of confidence. "Go, Sue. And come back to us. We'll be waiting for you."

"The... newcomer uses arrows too, from what I hard." Sue stated. "Wherever Arashe is... ask him to find me. It will be hard to do alone otherwise."

Melethia let out a roar. She was serious. She glared at Siegell.

"You're in no position to make threats to me Siegell." She growled. "I can tear you limb from limb if I choose to. But that's not why I woke you up."

Upon hearing the news of Tibarn turning on the guards, Ashnard's face glowed with happiness. Tibarn was one of the people who had supposedly kill him, and was a worthy opponent in battle. The only disadvantage that Ashnard saw was that while Tibarn could fly, Ashnard was stuck on the ground.

Amelia shifted a little to the side as Rhys rushed in, giving him access to her father's chest. She watched the glow surround his wounds, patching all of the damage up and leaving him no worse for wear. Amelia put a hand to his robes, against the redness that had been spreading slowly, and smiled when she saw it stay exactly the same. She relaxed against the couch, hugging Renault still. Somehow, things had improved, even if just a little.

Her heart sank as soon as the messengers were let inside by the shirtless Kishuna. "Eyris is under attack. A man appeared and caused heavy losses among the castle guard. Worse yet, other guards are turning on their former comrades. Sir Tibarn... is doing the same."

Amelia's eyes widened. Her breath hitched in her chest. Sir Tibarn is doing the same. Tibarn... their Tibarn, the Hawk King, the man who wouldn't let damn near anything slow him down, much less hurt him, had been cursed. Just like Rei. Amelia's grip on her father tightened, not relaxing until she heard Sue. She trusted Sue to take Tibarn down, at least to where they could apprehend him. She was strong, strong enough to wield her country's sacred bow, Myulgre. Amelia faintly thought of the sacred weapons of Magvel; more specifically, of the serpent bow Nidhogg. Amelia had never found out what would happen to those weapons after Formortiis was destroyed. She had left Magvel (not purposely, of course) too soon.

She ignored Mel for the time being, mentally relieved to see her awake. She just held onto Renault, stayed quiet, trying to chew over what had happened and slow her pounding heart. Tibarn... please be all right... Sue will be able to help. I hope...
