Melanie smiled at Ryuk, dismissing her worries about Sarah for the moment. "I love it! There's a whole bunch of unique people here. I don't feel scared to show off my ears now!" She swished back her hair to flash one of her ear-fins at him. "So... do you have any special talents?"

Sarah hurried past the boy she'd bumped into and took shelter in the shade behind the building. She slumped against a wall, trying to even out her breathing.
Why. Was. He. Staring at her? She was aware that this was a rather extreme reaction, but for most of her life, she'd been able to avoid attention both positive and negative. Sure, it was nice to talk to someone once in a while, but bullies ignored her too. She'd never been tripped, never been mugged for her lunch money, never been talked about behind her back. It was hard enough to be talked about in front of her face.
But now this boy was focused on her, and he scared her. A person who radiated that much hate could... could...
Actually, she didn't know.
Sarah straightened up, feeling foolish. She couldn't think of any actual reason to be scared of the boy. Yes, he'd seen her, and she didn't like that, but it wasn't as if he'd tried to harm her. All she had to do was avoid him. That should be easy enough.
Sarah walked back around, took a deep breath, and entered the cafeteria. Her eyes swung towards the place she'd last seen the boy, but he wasn't there. Instead, he was at another table, talking to Gallant.
What's he doing there? she thought, worry suddenly rushing back. But as she watched, both boys smiled, and her worry drained away to be replaced by something like jealousy. Looks like they're fine...
Sarah got in line with some other students. Time to fill her empty stomach.

Jasper surveyed the nearly full cafeteria with an appraising eye. "Mm. Not bad at all," he agreed. "Though I have a little more than dating in mind..."
Did I just say that out loud? Jasper coughed. "Speaking of classes, I have to go back and get my books before they begin. It was nice meeting you, Gallant." Jasper stood up and held out his hand.

Nathan moved his hand back. His caretaker lacked foresight. Contact with people he wasn't stealing from, or.... otherwise, was an odd sensation. His curiosity got the better of him. He stepped forward, moving past his comfort zone on the speed of which he moved, he stepped forward, his body passing through the fountain. "What is it, exactly? I know flutes are different, and I know clarinets are different still but... what is the purpose of an Ocarina?" He asked, leaning in closer to the object.

((My bus never showed up this morning. I'm going to have to stay home.))

Saki was shocked when the boy walked right through the fountain. What the- she thought. "An ocarina is an instrument," she said. "You play different notes by using different combinations of fingerings."

((Just to tell you, I started a new role play last night. Well, actually, it's a copy of another one that I started but didn't get very far. I figured it needed another chance, so I remade it in this guild.(I originally started it in a guild where there aren't very many people) It's called Eternal Eyes. It's in the main forum, in case anyone is interested.))

Ryuk smiled. "well that all depends, youll have to ask him." He gestured for her too, "Now behave Raiden."

Raiden mumbled incorent things under his breath in his demon language (None of them were very nice) and turned his head away from both of them.

((Gah. Hate Church. Hateithateithateithateit.))

"It's... small. Was that what was making that sound?" Nathan said, glancing at the girl once, then back down at the instrument. It could be an instrument... he supposed. But was it something she could do, or... wait, did she have fangs? He looked at her mouth, and waited until she said something. If she did have them... they would show.

((Really sorry for my short post. I am.. completely mind-wiped right now.))

Gallant shouldered his bag and rose from the seat. A quick glance at the schedule told him where to go. The map told him how to get there. It wasn't far. Everywhere around him, students came to life, hurriedly finishing breakfast, stuffing books and papers into their bags and generally springing into activity from the morning lethargy that had gripped them only moments before. With a leisurely gait and an unconcerned smile, Gallant sauntered his way out of the cafe. As students filed into their classrooms and Gallant began to approach his own, the stampede of the hallway began to subside until the worst of it was over. Still, the hallway was no place to linger during the morning rush, so Gallant decided not to hesitate any longer and slipped into his first class, taking a seat in the second row, right next to the window. Placing his bag beside him, he put his chin on his hand and, after a quick survey of the classroom, rested his gaze on the door.

((Ugh. -_-; Been sick with a stomach virus all weekend. I'm sorry, I know we're fast-moving, so I'll try to get a post up later tonight. I just can't right now.))

While disappointed that she couldn't touch Raiden, Melanie giggled as she was whisked off through another portal. This way of traveling was exhilarating - much better than walking.
As Ryuk spoke to the girl named Kit, Melanie looked around with interest. Spotting Silvia, she went over to her with a smile and held out a hand. "Hey, my name is Melanie. I got here late, so I didn't get to meet anyone. How do you do?"

Hearing the bell, Sarah wolfed down the rest of her breakfast, cursing the fear that had made her lose precious minutes of breakfast time. She let herself be carried along by the sea of students, only encountering difficulty when she had to get out to reach her classroom.
Closing the door quietly behind her, Sarah saw that Melanie was already there, along with Gallant, a pair of girls, and another boy. Sarah wasn't sure what made her think of the girls as a pair, but it seemed to fit.
Sarah crept around the people in the doorway and took a seat in the middle of the room, near the back. The farthest back usually held troublemakers, the window seats were in hot demand, and those at the front were reserved for teacher's pets. The middle was usually the best option.

Jasper grimaced in annoyance as the bell cut short his observations. Still, he'd gained some valuable information. The boy was a bit twitchy, not seeming used to life around so many peers, and he could walk through solid objects. The girl had seemed to sense him, even at a distance. Bits like this would help him deal with them later on.
He left his corner and sauntered up the stairs. He was in no hurry to get to class.

((Stomach virus is likely to be the flu. I'm feeling better now, but there's no guarantee for the morning. Also, I'm hoping we can skip the more awkward introductions later if there's a role call at the start of class. It bugs me to call everybody 'boy' and 'girl'.))
