A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...

"Stalking me? My... that sounds rather dangerous. I didn't know you were the dangerous type Azen." The gypsy teases with a mock-sultry tone. She does seem to perk up faintly at the mention of the elves. With a side to side glance at the other occupants in the tavern, Talise slides her fingers around the large knight's arm and, keeping her other arm hooked with Dominis', she tugs them towards a private table.

Once they are out of obvious earshot, she looks between them in surprise. "You are going to the Elves too, Azen? Domini, you were going to take him?" She whispers, trading glances between the two of them as she speaks. With a slight pause, she switches to Faen'dorein, her eyes focusing on Domini. "How did he know to come to you?"

There is a love in me raging. A joyous, magical feeling...

[[Sorry about the wait. ><;;]]

___At Talise's tease, Azen smiled. "Dangerous? Hm. I hear some ladies like it, though." He replied with a slight, playful chuckle. Asgard thought Tali wouldn't take the stalker seriously, seeing as she made a mocking comment about it, and as well as, for him anyway, it didn't really make sense: why would he stalk the mocha elf if he could just travel with his friend and why would he actually have been first in the tavern? Beside that, Azen was too large not to be noticed if he was indeed stalking anyone.

___As both Azen and Domini were dragged by their common friend to a private table, away from anyone who could hear their conversation clearly, the human knight listened to Talise's whispers. When she mentioned that Domini could be taking him, he stayed silent for a few seconds. "So, you could have took me all along." He thought to himself, a light smile in disbelief creeping up his lips, but quickly faded away. "I actually did not know to come to her, it was a guess. I thought milady Domini looked a little different, not in a bad way of course, and I thought maybe she could have information has to how to get there or at least where the elves are. I did not think she could actually take me there, as you just mentioned, miss Tali."

User ImageClaiming the clay-ware cup the waitress brought her, Asmyrra's gaze flickered between Eva and Ky as they answered, taking a hesitant sip of the ruby-coloured contents. At Ky's comments, a single dark brow arched in dubious amusement, as the corners of those up-slanted eyes crinkled in a cheshire smile behind her cup. Settling the earthenware container to the tabletop, Asmyrra shook her head in rueful amusement, her purring accent marked faintly with the telltale burble of contained laughter.

"Symbolic dark armour giving strength, while distinguishing inner turmoil and the lack of a soul," she murmured, glancing at Eva, that dubious expression becoming very faintly exaggerated, to include her in the joke. "Ky, you have been reading far too much of the fictitious literature... dark knights indeed."

Shaking her head once more, Asmyrra took another sip of her wine, if nothing else to fend off the vague threat of another coughing fit, before continuing. "If there is anything to be said, then perhaps he is a mercenary of some sort... such armour would cost dearly to make. But why would such a fellow be out here? There are no battles to be waged, no armies fielded..."

User ImageBlinking in surprise at Tali's query as to whether she was taking this... this... Man... to see the Elves, those mismatched eyes widened in horror, her captured hand slipping free to join it's opposite in a fluttery denial, the Rosso vigorously shaking her head. After all, she'd let a stranger travel with her on about the same day that she traveled to the Cathedral, and---

Oh. Wow.

That vigorous denial came to a screeching halt as Tali switched to her native tongue, though. Trying to save this line of denial and such would be like trying to save a sinking ship by plugging the holes with parchment... and so, Rosso schooled her features from the horrified expression, to a wide, ever-so-innocent teeth-baring, more than a little over-stretched smile, those mismatched eyes flickering between the two of them as she hissed her response out between those tightly-pressed teeth.

"Thought was just some stupid boy, trying to impress Rosso," she hissed, her Faen'dorein only marginally better than her Trade tongue. "Was going to... to squish! But then, started asking 'bout Elves... squee!"

Domini offered a faint, slightly simpering laugh between those closed teeth to Azen, before whirling towards Tali once more, hissing quietly in that same language. "What mean, 'too'?! Ta-li not going to Folk's cities!?"

A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...

A small hand comes up to scratch the back of her head, her first reply to Domini coming out as a short, nervous laugh. She should have anticipated the question, but seeing both of her old friends together in this little tavern had caught her off guard. Forgetting to switch to a more private language, Tali offers a restless shrug. "It just so happens that I am headed to the folk cities as well. I met up with some people headed that direction... They seem to think that they can find information that would help my people." Glancing now at Domini, her voice becoming more serious. "I don't know if you saw it as you passed by, but our last camping grounds were attacked..."

Shaking her head softly, the hand lowers to brush her bangs from covering her eyes. "It was brutal Ipo... We even lost one of the elders. Our band can't take many more of those. We won't survive." Taking a deep breath, she pushes away the sadness surrounding that memory. "So I am headed north... and was hoping perhaps, for a lift... so to speak." Tali ventures hesitantly, biting her lip as she waits for Domini's reaction to her request.

Ky blushes slightly at his commander's retort. This was something he had become accustomed to since his youth. Not so much from Asmyrra, but from his instructors and peers. His personality seemed to attract ridicule and sarcasm. Thankfully his skills in a battle are not so easily made fun of.

He turns his attention toward the knight again thinking that perhaps he is on a similar quest to them. His eyes then turn toward the small woman that can't seem to keep still.

"I must say that Talise's friend is quite lively. I hope she is reliable."

Eva snorted rather unladylike, amused despite her misgivings about the heretic witch. She did not have to like someone to enjoy their jokes afterall, and it only provided a better cover. Eva simply could not bring herself to outright hate someone who had not done anything to directly harm her. Well, maybe if she really worked at it. Such emotion was hardly necessary for her task, however, and that was what it really came down too. Her precarious position weighed heavily on her mind and seemed to echo in the back of her mind at every thought. Taking another long draught of her thick ale, she leaned back slightly in her chair and sighed quietly.

"Good ale, good company, nice change. I suppose it won't last long, though, if were to be on the road again soon."

[Death is, as always, inconvenient. Sorry for lack of notice, the trip was rather abrupt.]

User ImageDomini's first instinct was to reply to Tali's request with a vigorous, definitive, emphatic "NO", but... she had seen the wreckage of one of the People's camps. It was partially the fault of those burned-out husks that had once been wagons that had made Rosso hurry here so quickly, in the first place. So, for a brief moment or three, Tali's entreaty was met with a stony expression, Domini folding her arms across her chest almost defiantly... then those mismatched eyes flickered downwards, the stony expression fading.

She knew taking on a passenger, even one as important as Tali, was a mistake...

Squee.

The quiet voice that emerged, speaking her broken Trade tongue once more, was well-laden with a hesitancy that Tali would easily understand, as those mismatched eyes flickered back to her.

"...was very... err... very worried, when saw camp. Have been looking for Ta-li, hoped you would... ehhr... remember! Remember to meet here," Domini murmured, gazing into Tali's features with no little amount of concern painting her own thin face. "Maybe... maybe could take Ta-li, where wish to go... But!"

Those mismatched eyes flickered away from Tali, crossing over Azen and the other three that were clearly not from around here, those thin features taking on an almost secretive expression. "But, they not come! Only Ta-li!"

With all the activity in the center of the floor, perhaps it was little surprise that the opening of the door drew no attention. The three figures who walked in, however, were very distinctive, and a wave of quiet began rippling outwards from the tables nearest them. Festooned in the crimson-and-white of the Cathedral's soldiers, the three men were familiar enough to the Dale-landers, for the Order's outpost had been established several years ago. Seldom, however, did the troopers actually venture into town... and they never entered the taverns and inns (in uniform, at least)... unless it was to attend to a disturbance.

The three soldiers murmured quietly amongst themselves for a brief moment, their attention clearly flickering between the two small groups of strangers, before the troopers began making their way through the crowd, one of them heading for Ky and company's table, the other two towards Tali's group.

Eva's eyes flickered to the guards entering the inn then back to her almost empty mug. Draining the last dregs of comforting alchohol, she set the heavy mug on the table but did not remove her hand. For now, perhaps, there would be no trouble, but she would not react until her companions did. It was about then that she realized that she might be called on to kill her comrades. With a sick turning of her stomach, she tightened her grasp on the handle of her glass.

Not good. Could I do it..? They were melee fighters from the looks of their weapons. Perhaps it was not so much of a question as to whether she could kill them but if she could keep herself from getting killed. Or worse, getting hauled back for questioning. Then it was a question of whether or not Lord Uriel would even hear of her capture or whether--no, there really was no point in worrying about it now. Settling her gaze on the table, Eva resigned herself to a short wait and a few more moments of distant worry.

[Fight or flight? Prior post is finished.]

Ky takes a ginger sip of his mud water, wincing slightly, when he notices Eva's suddenly looking very uncomfortable. He quickly glances over his shoulder and catches sight of a uniform all to familiar to him.

He sighs and gently taps on the table, his finger a few inches away from Asmyrra's hand. He catches her eye and nods his head in the direction of the one soldier walking toward them.

User ImageAsmyrra watched the approach of the young man sporting the colours of the Paladin's Rod through half-slitted eyes, thoughts whirring quickly as she calculated the odds of escape. As it was only one guard, and the townsfolk seemed to be more interested in watching the show than participating, the odds of them getting out of the inn were high... but with only three men inside, the odds of the Cathedral's forces having more people outside were even higher. In the space of a few footsteps, those slanted eyes flickered back open, casting a brief glance first at Ky's hand, then to him, before drifting over to Eva... and her decision was made.

"Odds are high they only wish to question us," Asmyrra half-whispered, specifically pitching that purring soprano to carry only to Eva and Ky. "But, if things get... difficult... Lord Johannes has made it clear that we fight those from the Cathedral to the death when we have absolutely no choice. Getting outside and to our horses will be our primary goal."

As she finished those words, those slanted eyes cast a piercing gaze towards her two companions, the intensity of the look conveying the importance of the matter... and then slowly drifted up to the soldier coming to a stop near their table.

The three soldiers bearing the colours of the Paladin's Rod looked to be reaching their respective groups at about the same time... but for one complication. Domini, seeing the approaching soldier folk, stared at them for a long moment, her expression taking on a definite look of panic. As the two men came nearly in arm's reach of them, fight or flight in the little inventor's mind was spontaneously answered, as she darted a hand out and seized Tali's arm, taking off like a flash towards the kitchen, doing a surprisingly good job of bowling people over or knocking them from her path as she ran full-tilt away from the soldiers, who pounded after them, shouting for them to halt.

The guard approaching Eva, Ky, and Asmyrra, whirled at the sudden commotion behind him, and, realizing what was occurring almost instantly, spun back towards his objective, his mailed hand darting towards the serviceable sword at his side. Asmyrra, reacting with swift decisiveness, slid from her chair, settling her shoulder beneath the edge of the table. With an explosive surge from her legs, she cannoned towards the soldier, the table up-ending and acting as a bizarre combination of shield and battering ram as she toppled it into him, her feet already aiming her towards the door.

Ky had taken a quick scoot from the table at the moment the guard had his attention diverted toward the kitchen. For a split moment Ky prayed that Talise and her strange friend would be safe.

After the commander had upended the table onto the knight, Ky follows behind her (but not before stomping down on the table for good measure to knock the wind out of the knight.

"Sorry!" Ky shouts over his shoulder as he follows Asmyrra outside.

___Azen was rather confused with the two elves' conversation all this time. He only had been looking back and forth at the two, his eyes filled with... almost admiration, as they spoke another language(that sounded pretty good). He figured they were talking about seeing the elders, but didn't know in details what they said. Once in a while, Azen would look around the place, looking at the folks enjoying their time, or at the table of three people, two women and a man, who'd stare at Talise, Domini and Azen.

___Three men walked in the Pub. It didn't take too long that Azen recognized the colour of their attire, as well as their sheathed weapons. "Great. Paladin's Rod guards." He thought to himself, trying to think of a way to avoid them if possible, even though improbable. His thoughts came to a stop when he noticed the men coming towards his group and the table of the three strangers who came in with Talise. All strategy fell in his mind, and if they would come for Talise, he'd do his best to give her enough time to escape the place.
When the men got close enough to the table, Asgard quickly got up half a second after Rosso grabbed her friend and darted towards the kitchen; the only thing the guards had the time to do is should "Halt!" and a strong metal knuckle greeted one of the two men's jaw. As quickly as the first fist came to kiss the victim's teeth, the dark knight grabbed his chair with his free hand and swung it to the second guard.
Hopefully, that would give at least the two girls enough time to run to a safer place.
