Amaranta flinched from his biting words. she bent her head and left quietly. *I'm not wanted... not truly wanted.* she thought sadly. she set out on the road ans headed back for her house.

Dante shook his head. "Nothing on this earth will ever come close to Melfina's kindness..." Dante's consciousness stabbed him in the heart. *What the hell are you talking about?! That girl just tried to help you all she could! And WHAT do you do?! You turn her away! And yell at her for just trying to help! What the hell is wrong with you man?!* Dante slowly felt sadness and then guilt.

Amaranta stopped in the middle of the road. she walked to the side and wandered through the woods. Amaranta, selfishness is not a good quality. she could hear her father's voice. yes, it had always been one of her worse qualities. But she had given it up, yet she didn't feel any better. *He'll kill himself... there's nothing stopping him anymore.* she thought glumly. *nothing i can do....* she walked on, deeper and deeper.

Dante was hitting his head on the walls of his house over and over. He felt so guilty.

Amaranta stopped in front of an ancient oak. It was familiar to her. there were many memories buried between the cracks of its peeling bark. some were hers and others from countless years. Amaranta stroked the old tree and picked up a fallen leaf.

Dante was dizzy from blood loss and hitting his head really hard.

Dante stumbled out of his house and into a forest. He found a clearing and collapsed on the ground. He tried to stand but he was too weak.

Amaranta heard something fall to the ground a little ways away. she stood up and walked to where she heard the sound. she came to a clearing and saw Dante lying on the ground. "Dante!" She rushed over to him, trying to forget that he didn't want her around. "Are you ok?" she kneeled down next to him. "What did you do to your head?" she asked.
