Durithill readjusted his backpack before following slowly after Synthic, limping every once in a while. Though he didn't want to show it, he was still in pretty bad shape. Casting two unholy lances in his current shape without using blood runes had been a mistake, but it wasn't like he could go back into the past and undo his actions. So he just grinned and bore it for the time being.

Synthic led the way to the inn. After paying and convincing the innkeeper that these animals needed to stay with her, she was finally given the key to a room. She then led the way there and unlocked the door, "Here we go," She said and stepped back from the door to allow them entry first.

Durithill followed after Daniel, picked the corner behind the door, and walked over there. For a moment he paced in circles before sitting down and curling up into a furry ball. A furry ball with cold yellow eyes that watched them all from the black fur.

Daniel nodded and stood up again. He walked over to Synthic and gently took the book from her to put it down on the table that was in the room. He opened it up and began flipping through pages. He stopped though and went back a page as something caught his eye. He noted the word Zen. He began to read. "According to this, Zen has been alive for over 8000 years. He was in fact the ruler of the dark army that was in the ancient war." He said reading on. The rest of the next few pages just went on more about the ancient war so he stopped reading that part there and began flipping through more pages. "Of course, it could be a different Zen."

Could Zen really be that old? He didn't think it was possible. He knew some creatures could live for thousands and thousands of years, but he never thought Zen to be one of them. Daniel thought about that as he kept looking through the book. He found another word that caught his eye. He saw the word 'poison'. He then began to read the text on the page. "Zen Kotsu, lord of the army of shadows, developed a chemical that would slowly kill its victims in a painful matter. A poison that would infect the blood stream and soon begin taking over the internal organs and causing them to turn to stone. First it wouldn't be all that bad, such as feeling very dizzy, having respiratory problems, or coughing up black blood." Daniel had been reading aloud straight from the book when stopped reading there. This must of been the poison Zen had put in him as well! He wasn't having all the side affects, like trouble breathing yet, but he sure had been coughing up black blood. And not too many sicknesses turn the blood black.
"They're talking about my illness I believe. And if they really are, my organs are apparently going to turn to stone!"

"Petrification?" Synthic was thinking the same thing as Daniel. But she needed to be sure. There are hundreds of illnesses that she can name that cause coughing up blackened blood, "Excuse me Daniel," She said and knelt down.
She preformed a percussion test on Daniel's chest like what she did to Kir before. She was not expecting a metallic sound to come back like with Kir, but something else solid like if there was too much bone tissue there. She placed her ear on Daniel's chest and tapped certain parts of his abdomen and chest for sounds that would indicate that there was hardening there.

Synthic leaned back when she heard the sounds echo back to her faster than they should, "Daniel, that's exactly what that poison is. We're going to get you a cure for it okay? Lets' see if the ingredients are listed in the book," She said. She had tested subjects on poisons that caused petrification before. It wasn't a pretty sight watching them suffer and twitch as their organs became too heavy for their suspensions. She didn't want that to happen to Daniel. She needed to make him a cure and quick.

Daniel looked back into the book. His illness was worse than he thought. He flipped through pages looking for a list of ingredients to make a cure. He soon found the word cure and began reading from there. "The cure of this deadly poison was hidden from Farion, leader of the light army in the ancient war. Zen tried to make sure a cure was never found, but the light leader's minions only found a cure when it was too late. The cure consisted of a mixture of a leaf from the tree of souls, water, an angel feather, and a pint of blood from a non-infected human being." The list ended and went back on to more ancient war history.
"Right then, water should be fairly easy to get. What about the other ingredients?"
He then turned to see what Deimos was showing them. He examined the symbols. He couldn't make out what they meant, but was surprised Zen himself had written these.
