Blaine frowned, Alright, let's not let that happen again... he thought, disliking the concept of having to start over. He let the orb of light flow over his shoulders and down his other arm to his hand where he held it in place for a second, I wonder if I can change it's size... Blaine took the orb in both hands and began to "stretch" the orb, trying to make it bigger. It worked, and the orb grew in size until it was about the size of a basketball, though the light was now considerably dimmer and also spread more about the room. Blaine bounced the orb a couple times before realizing that the process had drained his energy somewhat. He sighed and took the orb in both hands again, this tie compressing it into a smaller orb than before. It was also much brighter than the standard orb and more concentrated than either.
((By concentrated, I mean the light didn't spread very far from the orb.))

Nathan nodded to the woman distractedly. It seems if he stopped concentrating, the thing would slowly but surely revert into a simple ball. He couldn't have that; finally he managed it, though, and held in his hand a sort of knife. The blade was only six inches long or so, but it was still a flaming knife, and it was still deadly. Curiously, Nathan played around with it, flicking it forward a few times then tossing it up into the air and trying to catch it. Unfortunately, it dissipated the second it left his skin, or at least began to, and by the time it came back down, it was just little fragments of what it had been.

The Guardian groaned. "Nathan, right? You're going about it wrong. The point of what we Guardians do is not to make a deadly weapon. We want to use as little force as possible, otherwise we're the same as Blazer Black. Try something with a lower energy output." She nodded affirmatively at Blaine.

Blaine saw the guardian nod in his peripheral vision and nodded back, not taking his eyes off of the orb. He let it expand back to it's original size, it consumed less of his energy that way, I wonder if I can make it change colors? he thought, turning his focus to attempting to alter the light's color.

Anna had been watching Blaine and Nathan carefully before she stuck her two mystickers abover her chest. She lightly traced the design in an awkward and clumsy way to activate them then stared down at her hands. Her dark-red eyes gazed at Blaine, who was beside her, and she hesitantly reached out towards him. Nothing happened. Anna's brow furrowed as she frowned and tried again, this time putting both hands out towards Blaine. Still nothing. She looked down towards her mystickers and wondered if they were out of juice already. No, they were fine..Anna just wasn't doing it right. Anna closed her eyes and concentrated as she relived the moment when she had tried to use both at once. She took a silent breath that caught in her throat at the memory then opened her eyes and pushed out more than her hands; a small sheild had bubbled out protecting all of her body but her head and all of Blaine.

Nathan, again chagrined, took the Mysticker back to the recharging post, then slapped it back on his bicep. How could fire be used non-destructively? It gave warmth, but that was a survival skill that would be very simple. It gave light, but that was what a Light Mysticker was for. Other than that, the best thing it did was burn. How could destruction be used non-destructively? He formed the fire orb again, carefully considering it, but no ideas came to his mind. Surely there must be at least one usage...
In this, however, he became distracted by Anna's Mysticker power. Impressed, he watched for a moment, noting the almost-transparent qualities of the shield.
Then he knew what he could do with fire.
Suddenly the orb of fire began to smoke. It was not the dark, very dangerous sort of smoke; more the mid-gray, only sort of dangerous smoke. Some settled to the ground, and some floated higher, until Nathan was surrounded by a smoke-screen about ten yards in radius. Proudly, he stepped clear, the fire-orb smaller but still alive in his hands.

She nodded at Blaine as the colors changed. "Not exactly useful, but one never knows what will come in handy. Keep trying. Remeber," she said to everyone, "one hour." Of course, there was no way they could manage that on their first tries, but what was training for, after all? Anna's shield was strong, but the Guardian knew, of course, what would happen: A Blazer's most important skill was focus. The shield itself could easily be maintained for an hour, but the Blazer using it needed to stay zoned in for that long as well. An experienced Blazer would have no problems, but these novices... She smiled at Nathan. "See, you're getting it. Keep going. 55 minutes left."

Blaine smiled, entertained by the changing light. He didn't really care if it was useful right now, it was just entertaining. The light slowly pulsed from red to purple to blue and then to orange, I wonder if I can make it black... he thought, quickly going to work on making it so. The light darkened to a thick violet and then to solid black. Blaine marveled at this as, despite the color, the orb still gave off light, though it was dark in color, Blaine suspected that it may act as a blacklight if needed but couldn't test this out now. Multiple colors! Blaine thought. Half of the orb slowly started to change color, until it was a deep shade of red, the orb was now half-and-half. Blaine managed to add in green on the red side and white on the black side before his concentration was broken when Anna formed a shield around him. The orb vanished completely. Blaine shrugged, he hadn't expected to get this far anyway. He reactivated the mysticker again and went back to work.

Nathan nodded to himself. Hold something like that for an hour. What else could smoke be used for? Then another thought struck him - smoke signals. Thank goodness for Boy Scouts; although he'd ended up Star, he sure as heck knew his Morse Code. He allowed the smoke to expand outward as the smokescreen, but also began pushing a single pillar upwards, then cut it off, then started it again. He coded out a very simple sentence: "Nathan is seriously awesome." That done, he began to consider again. Hiding himself and others was all fine and good, but what would happen if that weren't good enough? He needed a way to stun someone. Flashbangs came to mind, but that would be more the realm of Blaine and his ilk, light Blazers. No, Nathan needed something different. Something perhaps painful, but not deadly. Flash-fires would do the trick - like lighting propane in the air, it would leave you red and hurting but largely unharmed, other than looking like a lobster. If Nathan could somehow replicate that effect...
He let the smoke simply sustain itself - without wind, it wasn't going anywhere for a few minutes at least - and began to ponder how to accomplish his idea. The fire would have to spread out almost little tendrils, so he decided to start it on a smallish scale, perhaps six inches in front of the fireball. The orb extended little flickering lines of fire, until at about six inches they all burst outwards, expanding and retracting. It had cost him, though; the fireball was now even smaller, although not depleted. Perhaps the size of a marble, it was rapid dying, and Nathan was not sure how to prevent this without failing to do anything productive. To sit and wait was not productive, this he knew.

Anna was holding the shield just fine until Blaine decided to change the color of the light. She stared in awe at his skill and her shield faultered. Anna gasped silently as the orb of light in Blaine's hand dissappeared and her shield burst. Discouraged, Anna tried again only this time keeping the transparent shield around herself to keep from distracting her comrades and also herself. Anna made a bubble around herself and kept it there for several minutes before slowly trying to expand part of it; it moved easily where she willed, but shaping it was a different story. Anna tried to make different shapes, but most of the time the shield began to collapse. The shield popped once more and Anna frowned hard while looking down towards her mystickers. What could she do to practice her healing mysticker? When would the power in them run out?

The Guardian nodded in satisfaction. These ones were quick. "Keep it up. You look like you're getting the hang of it." Still, it would take them weeks to maintain their stickers for an hour. Noticing Anna's gaze, the Guardian walked over and pushed the hand holding the Mend down. "That one doesn't need training. You just stick it on and activate. It'll do the rest. But remember, it only has 25 uses per charge."

Blaine thought for a moment about what to do, I wonder if I can make my body glow... he thought. He took the orb and began to press it against his skin to see what would happen.

Anna blinked and blushed for the Mend Mysticker was still on her upper chest. She nodded and carefully scooted away from the Guardian as she tried to concentrate enough to form another shield.
