Elnara smiled brightly, her eyes shining as she walked alongside Lore. The crowd didn't bother her in the least - she had grown up with half of these people, and the other half had become her family. She laughed softly as she and Lore stood in their places - she couldn't help it - she was just so happy at the moment.
Then out of nowhere someone started tapping their wineglass, and very quickly they were joined by someone else, and then someone else - until many of the people there were tapping either their wine glasses or their tables.
Elnara laughed again and turned to Lore, her eyes shining. It was the age-old call for the bride and groom to share a kiss.

Was there was blush? There was, though quite faint, but he could not help it. He laughed a bit along with Elnara, it was catching. It was then, he leaned over to kiss her.
The sound of clinking wineglasses ringining in his ears.

Elnara smiled widely and slipped one arm around Lore's shoulders, drawing him down closer to her, then cupped his cheek with her other hand, raised her face, and kissed him back warmly. Then she laughed softly, breaking the kiss, and moved to sit down, her eyes positively glowing as she looked at Lore.
And then it was Celebor's turn to take over. He motioned for everyone to sit down again, then raised one hand for silence.
"Okay, everyone," he grinned once it was quiet again. "Just going to start out with a few announcements here. First of all, congratulations once again, Mom and Dad - it took a long time, but you finally made it."
He chuckled and shot them a thumbs up, then turned back to everyone else again.
"I'm going to be our announcer for the evening," he told them, stating the obvious, "and now here's the most important thing I'm going to be saying for a while."
He paused, his eyes glinting mischievously. "That kiss was your one and only freebie of the night," he went on. "From now on, the only way to get Mom and Dad to share a kiss in front of everyone again is to come up here and recite a poem of your own invention. It has to be suitable, proper, and have both Mom's and Dad's name in it. Every once in a while there's going to be a speech or presentation or something, and if anyone has anything they'd like to do, come and talk to me."
He grinned. "You know where I am."
He paused, looking over at Atalya, and nodded, serious again. "I guess that's about it ... let the celebration begin!"
And he sat down again just as music struck up from behind the tall almost-walls that lined the room.

"Well... that is inventive," Lore murmured.
He wondered if the wedding guests knew about the poem to get a kiss, and wondered just out of curiousity if anyone was going to try. The thought amused him.

Elnara nodded her agreement to Lore's comment. "I would never have thought of it," she admitted. "Though ... I have to admit ... this is the first big wedding I've ever seen." She laughed. "I missed everyone else's ... and Kara and Donovan's was family only."
Not that this one wasn't - well, it nearly was anyways - but her family just happened to be quite a bit larger than either Kara's or Donovan's ... if only because they were already included in that, plus her blood family, which was quite large.

Lore chuckled at that, "Indeed, I've heard of large weddings, but this is certainly teh first I've ever seen."
He took her head as he leaned over, from where they sat they could view everyone as they interacted.
"Which makes me wonder what else is planned?"

Lin looked around curiousity, she was wondering if anyone would give a poem a try. Not herself, she was fine in reading, but making up poems weren't quite her thing to be honest.
She wondered if Shiro would try, he seemed like he could come up with something on the spot.
Donovan though looked amused (though there was very little that didn't amuse him if he really put his mind to twisting it.)

Shiro had chosen to sit at a table with Lin, Earendil, Ura, Lothiriel and Pen, and he did indeed look thoughtful at the challenge that had been issued.
"I wonder how long it has to be," he mused, stretching one wing and then folding it again, tapping the table thoughtfully with one finger. "Or how serious it has to be."
He grinned at the others. "Let's face it, this is one time where we can have fun with Kaa-san in this way and get away with it."
Ura laughed along with his brother, seemingly equally amused.

Lothiriel laughed. "I'm sure any little rhyme would do," she said brightly. "Because if they're asking for some good elvish poetry, it would have to be long, tedious, and put to music."
She laughed again.
Pen chuckled softly. "Remind me to make sure that isn't an option at our wedding," he requested Lothiriel, squeezing her hand and smiling at her. "Though I have to admit, it does make the whole kissing thing a lot more interesting."
"Oh, my cousin isn't interesting enough?" Earendil asked innocently. He had to duck so that Pen's thrown napkin wouldn't hit him in the face, and burst out laughing.

Lin giggled watching the two men, she had to admit Pen left himself wide open for that one. She looked thoughtful at Shiro and then at Seeker, preventing herself from asking why exactly elvish poetry was long and tedious. Maybe she could find out for herself by listening to it or something.
"You stepped into that one Pen," Lin giggled a bit more, "And I think Lothiriel is correct about that one Shiro. I mean... for a Gaian our poetry isn't that long unless it's an epic..."
She rolled her eyes at the thought of some old classic epics like Homeric works, she wasn't so fond of that.
"Have something in mind?" Lin asked, "I think Nina is thinking of something, she's muttering to herself more than usual and giggling."
Which meant the kirin was up to something.

Shiro chuckled softly at his cousin (and future cousin), while Ura laughed aloud at the two of them.
"And I thought this was a mature table," he grinned, his tail waving cattily behind him. "So much for that thought."
He turned to Lin and smiled. "Well, since we - or at least, I - will be making a speech later on, I think Ura and I will pass on the poem. Though it would be cute to see what Nina can come up with, she's quite inventive when it comes to rhymes and the like."
"Drives people nuts sometimes," Ura grinned as their food was brought to them by the palace staff. "Thanks!"

Lothiriel didn't seem to react too much to Pen's comment, though she did reach under the table and poke his ribs, making him jump a bit.
"I think the shortest elvish poem I've ever read," she said thoughtfully, her eyes unfocusing as she gazed into the distance without looking at anything, "was ... at least ten pages long."
"Yeah, I don't think anyone's going to be trying for something like that," Pen agreed, slapping her hand away from his ribs. "And just so you know, I was talking about the traditional way of making the bride and groom kiss! I have never ever said that your kisses aren't interesting!"
Lothiriel raised one eyebrow at him, her eyes focusing once more. "Indeed," she murmured. "And here I was about to ask if you wanted to disappear for a while to see if I could change your mind."
At Pen's look of chagrin, Earendil just burst out laughing again.

Lin laughed again as she quietly thanked the staff that gave her, her meal. She couldn't help shake her head at Pen, when she was little she thought he was strange... well... acutally she still thought he was quite strange. Though the poor teen tilted her head at confusion at the look on Pen's face. Though she knew this much.
"You're making it too easy Pen," Lin told him, "You know she's teasing you in... whatever it was that is putting that look on your face."
She paused for a minute and wondered if she should ask.
"Why does he look like he just missed a chance at something?"

Shiro chuckled softly. "Because he did," he replied, grinning smugly and picking up his fork. "And Pen, Lin is exactly right, you're too easily baited, which is why they tease you so incessantly. Though, Lothiriel ... you may want to lighten up a bit on him so that you don't scare him too badly."
He laughed again and began eating.

At Lin and Shiro's reproaches, Pen's expression fell even further, until even Seeker had to feel sorry for him.
"There, there," she smiled, reaching over and patting his hand gently, "you know I only tease you to show you I love you." And she leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek, just a quick peck.
Pen chuckled and slid one arm around Lothiriel's shoulders so quickly that she didn't have a chance to pull away from him. "And you, my dear," he grinned impishly, his eyes sparkling with laughter, "should know by now that not all is as it seems with me."
And he held her to him with one arm and began to eat with his free hand.
Earendil rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "And just how long are you going to keep her prisoner like that?" he asked curiously. "I seriously doubt she's going to be able to eat with you holding her like that ..."
Pen's eyes just about glowed with mischief. "Oh, just until she finally gives in and gives me a date for our wedding," he smiled. "She keeps putting the question off."
