Riza Hawkeye Chuui So instead she resigned herself to attempting to set Adine ablaze with her eyes as the redhead approached the brig. gen. and amicably struck up conversation... ((Ooh, thanks for the setup! I've been waiting for this!))
Adine picked up her pace when she saw the silhouettes of Mustang and Hawkeye slide hesitantly out into the dark lobby. She held up her penlight and shone it at their throats to make certain--yes, it was them. She saluted crisply and ignored Hawkeye's glaring.
"Bigadier General Mustang, sir," she said smoothly, "I've been waiting for your arrival. I have obtained some information you may find interesting."
She didn't wait for a response, but had to admit she was amused at the look on his face. He looked downright flabbergasted that she had approached and just started reporting so formally when everything around them was going all to hell.
She reached into the pocket of her blouse and removed the map, holding it out to him.
"The tresspassing children were taken off by Tsukiyama, but before she apprehended them, I was able to get this from the younger of the two," she explained, and Mustang took it from her grasp. SHe held the penlight over it. "It's a map, sir...of the internal layout of HQ."
There were several startled gasps.
"I do not know where she got it or who gave it to her," Adine said darkly, "as they were whisked away by the Lt. Colonel before I had a chance to properly inquire... But if someone inside HQ has been selling maps with intention of espionage, something needs to be done."
That would get him. Nothing like the threat of a little in-fighting to get Mustang's dander up. An internal threat was always a good ice-breaker. And of course, the insider tip was all thanks to Adine...so naturally this should rack her up a few brownie points...
Things were moving along nicely...

The Lt.Colonel stopped at the front desk. She had seen Sheska, but she didn't want to interrupt the conversation she was having. She decided to look for the Brigadier General and report to him. After that she would go home. She faced the guard who was at the front desk, reading by candlelight. "Hey." The man jumped up. "H-hello Lt.Colonel. What can I do for you?" "Have you seen the Brigadier General? And where did the purple-haired girl go?" "Ah, he's right over there talking with Adine-san." He pointed in the direction where a small conversation was being held."And the girl left a while ago ma'am." She walked towards them."Sir, I've come to inform you about the children. It seems that they were only lost travelers. They-" Adine McLearynn "It's a map, sir...of the internal layout of HQ." Her eyes widened a bit and her jaw dropped as she heard this statement. "Those lying little brats.." she grumbled under her breath."Sir, I deeply apoligize for my foolishness. I myself can't believe how foolish I was. They never mentioned anything about a map and I never imagined that one of them held possesion over a map of central."

Adine smiled slyly and took a small step to stand beside Mustang, making a point to 'accidentally' nudge him with her shoulder as she did so.
"Oh, my, Chuusa, you mean you didn't detain the little buggers?" she asked, sounding horrified and grossly condescending at the same time...but miraculously with such an air that, as rude as the comment was, it didn't come across as such. "Mustang-junshou, I take it you were unaware such maps were in circulation? I cannot imagine someone of your status and reputation would have let such a thing occur..."

She knew that she made a god awful mistake and she didn't need this hussy to rub it in. But I guess I deserve to hear things such as this because of my folly. She sawllowed her pride. "Not exactly. I asked them a few questions and I believed their story and let them go. Like I said, I apoligize." she said in a guilty tone."But we can still detain the one that is still here, can't we?" her tone changed to a more confident one. "Adine you said that you got the map from the younger of the two right? Well, that's the one that is still here. I'm not sure if this information will help, but, those girls we're practioners. The purple-haired one, the one that left us, judging by the way she had a sack of what looked like books with her, she wasn't very skilled. The other one, I'm not so sure of. I just saw that she saw a piece of chalk and that was it. I do not know how skilled she is or what kind of alchemy she uses. Also, if their IS an espionage that's going on underneath our noses, then it needs to stop. I think I just thought of a plan that just might help us catch our culprit."

Riku watched the entire scene, from far away barely making out the words. Kat had left earlier, and now she was on her own again. She calmed her nerves, and sighed quietly. There was no way, Riku could bypass them all maybe couple of guards but not alchemists. At least the lights were still out, that would give her a bit of a advantage to escape. Checking that everyone was still in the lobby, Riku stepped inside some of the office rooms. It was soon followed, by the sound of breaking glass. The only evidence left behind in the rooms were fragments of white chalk.

Yuriku Checking that everyone was still in the lobby, Riku stepped inside some of the office rooms. It was soon followed, by the sound of breaking glass. Everyone riveted their attention to the sound of breaking glass. Soon after there were a few people running towards the lobby. Ayumi stopped one of the men and asked what had happened. "Ma'am, window broke in one of the offices. You go down that hallway turn left and it's the third door on your right." he said. "Ah, thank you. You may go." he saluted her and left. Wait. That office sounds familiar. Okay, if you go down that hallway and turn left and it's the thrid door on the right. That office should be..... "MY OFFICE!!!" she ran through the small crowd that had gathered in the lobby and headed toward it. How could I have been such an idiot. The kid must have heard me and ran off. The door was still open and she entered the room. The first thing she saw was the large window behind her desk was shattered. Raindrops splattered over her desk and a shards had covered the top of it wand many were surrounding it. She walked towards her desk. Yuriku The only evidence left behind in the rooms were fragments of white chalk She picked them up. Yup, that girl was here. Then she looked out the window. There were a few muddy tracks leading to somewhere.

Riza Hawkeye Chuui Riza frowned. "Maybe someone should go take a look down in the utilities room?" she suggested. "If we can get the auxiliary power up, maybe we can regain some semblance of order around here." He simply nodded his head as he kept walking forward a few steps. He had his mind set on something this very moment, he wasn't going to go check on a generator this very second. He had something he needed to figure out.Riza Hawkeye Chuui "Sir, what are you...?" she started to ask, and then she saw the silhouette of none other than Adine, walking saucily toward them. Put a finger to his lips and made the 'shh' sound quietly. He tugged at her hand a bit to keep her following him. When he did indeed see Adine, he rolled his eyes and let out a sigh of relief/disgust. He didn't really want to see her, especially in the presence of Hawkeye-chuui. Frowning a bit, he looked from Riza to Adine.Adine McLearyn "Bigadier General Mustang, sir," she said smoothly, "I've been waiting for your arrival. I have obtained some information you may find interesting." "Oh? And what might that be?" his voice merely an air of coolness. He was still frowning a bit as he let go of Riza's hand and crossed his arms across his chest.Adine McLearyn "I do not know where she got it or who gave it to her," Adine said darkly, "as they were whisked away by the Lt. Colonel before I had a chance to properly inquire... But if someone inside HQ has been selling maps with intention of espionage, something needs to be done." His eyes widened as he heard the words roll liquidly off of her lips. Clearing his throat uncomfortably, he looked from Adine to Riza. He felt a certain tension between the two ladies. Frowning more, he cleared his throat once more. "I'm not sure how someone got this, but we need to review all of our employees integrity. We need to figure out who is behind this."
His dark charcoal eyes glanced from Adine to Riza once more, as if they were playing a tennis match. His eyes lingered on both of the girls for a moment as he mulled the idea over in his mind. He watched the two intensely as if they were about to spontaneously combust or some sort of phenomenon like that.Adine McLearyn "Mustang-junshou, I take it you were unaware such maps were in circulation? I cannot imagine someone of your status and reputation would have let such a thing occur..." "Most certainly. I had no idea there were any such pieces of information going around. This is most disturbing..." with that said, he reached up and stroked his chin with his forefinger and thumb. A large frown pasted upon his facade. Glancing between the people that stood with him, he sighed softly. He was not quite sure what to do about this predicament.
Looking to Riza, he spoke softly. "Hawkeye-chuui, did you know anything about this? I mean, do you have any idea who could be behind this?"Naerin "MY OFFICE!!!" she ran through the small crowd that had gathered in the lobby and headed toward it. How could I have been such an idiot. Raindrops splattered over her desk and a shards had covered the top of it wand many were surrounding it. She walked towards her desk. He raised an eyebrow at the sound of shattering glass crashing to the floor. As he saw the young lady take off, he frowned as he looked to Riza then Adine. Then shot a glance back to Havoc and Edward. He motioned for them to follow him. He took off after her as she sprinted toward her office.

Riku ran as far as she could go, stopping to rest in a alleyway. Sitting down, she tried to organize her thoughts. Everything was in chaos in the millitary ... Envy is running around with a criminal. . . the high security . . . fullmetal returning . . . She looked up into the rain, and realized that it wasn't the best time to investigate more. Riku slightly dried her soaked jacket and looked for a place to stay the night. Tomarrow would be a better day, to return to look for clues.

Smirked a bit as he watched the scene unfold before his eyes. Directing his attention momentarily to Havoc, he whispered sideways "You know, if Junshou doesn't keep his eyes to himself, Riza is going to deck him a good one... and I'd be willing to help her. He needs to stop practically drooling over that Irish woman. For some reason... I have a bad feeling about her. Something just doesn't quite add up." the last portion of his sentence was more mumbled to himself than anything.
His ears picked up the sound of someone mentioning that the girls who had been somewhat detained had a map of Central HQ. A small chill ran down his spine. Frowning as he listened to as much as he could hear of the conversation, he began to think. All his mind could come up with for a reason they would have such a map wasn't good.Honoo no Renkinjutsushi He raised an eyebrow at the sound of shattering glass crashing to the floor. She placed the fragments on her desk and took one of the pieces of chalk. She quickly drew a transumation circle underneath the window and put the window back to its original state. She stood up and wiped the raindops off her face with her sleeve.

i am soooo sorry! *kicks adelphia* my cable internet *totally* kirked out on me the past like...week. crying i really dind't mean to disappear like that!!!! Honoo no Renkinjutsushi Adine McLearyn "Bigadier General Mustang, sir," she said smoothly, "I've been waiting for your arrival. I have obtained some information you may find interesting." "Oh? And what might that be?" his voice merely an air of coolness. He was still frowning a bit as he let go of Riza's hand and crossed his arms across his chest. Riza was tempted to mimic his gesture and fold her arms over her chest as well. And a well-placed mockery of Adine's sugary voice might have nicely complemented the action. Then she blinked and checked herself.
Holy crap... Riza Hawkeye was jealous.
It hit her like a sack of bricks...but she had just suddenly come to the realization that...she had no logical reason to hate Adine McLearynn--she was hard-working, pleasant, and intelligent--and yet...she had an unwarranted loathing for this otherwise amicable and knowledgeable coworker. The only logical explanation for such a sentiment was that Riza felt threatened somehow by this woman's presence. And, since Riza was quite confident that there was no way Adine could best her in any field...there was no other justification other than the fact that she was jealous of Adine's advances on Roy Mustang.
...but...that meant...that she had to admit to herself that she had feelings for the brigadier general... And that was one thing Riza Hawkeye was not sure she had the power to do...Adine McLearyn "Mustang-junshou, I take it you were unaware such maps were in circulation? I cannot imagine someone of your status and reputation would have let such a thing occur..." Riza again had to fight the urge to mock Adine's tone. Ho boy... She was going to have to work on this...Honoo no Renkinjutsushi "Most certainly. I had no idea there were any such pieces of information going around. This is most disturbing..." with that said, he reached up and stroked his chin with his forefinger and thumb.
Looking to Riza, he spoke softly. "Hawkeye-chuui, did you know anything about this? I mean, do you have any idea who could be behind this?" Riza snapped out of her envious stupor and met Roy's eyes.
"Sir?" she asked, and then his question sank in. "Ah...no, Sir, I have no idea... As far as I know, the officers we deal with are all high-profile trained professionals who would never compromise their situation--or ours, for that matter--in this manner." She cast narrow eyes to Adine again, then back at Roy. "Perhaps we should have the Parliament Members hold some sort of interrogation?"Honoo no Renkinjutsushi He raised an eyebrow at the sound of shattering glass crashing to the floor. He took off after her as she sprinted toward her office. With one last sinister glare at Adine, Riza took off after Roy, pausing to glance at Edward on her way out. Her eyes strayed to Havoc, who was still leaning heavy on the wall, and she wanted to ask if he was all right, but decided against it. He was already embarrassed enough. She resigned to simply giving him a concerned look, which he promptly waved off, and she decided that was good enough for her. She heard Edward's footsteps behind her and headed down the darkened hallway after Roy back toward his office.

Riza Hawkeye Chuui Honoo no Renkinjutsushi "Most certainly.
"Perhaps we should have the Parliament Members hold some sort of interrogation?" Adine quickly shook her head.
"I think that's a bad idea," she said, and Riza shot her a venomous look. Adine's green eyes narrowed slowly. "If we begin interrogating people, word will spread, and we may easily lose track of the real guilty party. Gossip spreads faster than brushfire, especially in a workplace. You should know that, Chuui..."
Riza looked about ready to punch Adine's lights out, and the redhead swallowed the smile that threatened to creep across her slender face. My, but had she already gotten the good lieutenant's dander up? That had been far too easy! Who would have thought the blonde woman was so easily flustered?
But then, Adine had to suppose that any woman would become flustered more easily when made to look like a fool in front of the man she loved... She shuckled silently to herself. This was going to be far more fun than she had planned...Honoo no Renkinjutsushi He raised an eyebrow at the sound of shattering glass crashing to the floor. As he saw the young lady take off, he frowned as he looked to Riza then Adine. Then shot a glance back to Havoc and Edward. He motioned for them to follow him. He took off after her as she sprinted toward her office. Adine watched them dash off: the lieutenant and the brigadier general. The Elric boy followed quickly. She shook her head. Everyone was so uptight around this place! Mustang was going to give himself an aneurism if he kept running around like that. He needed to relax and go with the flow a little more.
But then, frankly, so did the lieutenant. Adine snorted. Those two were made for eachother. Neither of them would know what to do with themselves on a day off. They were both so damn married to their work... She shook her head, and noticed a dark shape was still loitering in the hall, and she tilted her head.
Ah, it was the 2nd lieutenant. What was this one's name...? Havoc, was it? She was pretty certain it was. She paused a moment in thought. Why hadn't he gone with them? Interesting...
She cast a glance back at Armony, who was still sitting on the bench in the lobby, and then looked down at the coffee in her hand. It had gotten cold. Oh well, she could always reheat it later. Right now, she had an idea. She set the mug of now-cold coffee down on a nearby bench, and sauntered over toward the dark silhouette in the hall.
Mustang was too far a target for her to reach without some help. His thoughts were focused on only two things: getting promoted...and Riza Hawkeye. Even though she knew he was a shameless flirt and harbored daydreams of short-skirted coworkers, she knew that the junshou's eyes were really only on his lieutenant.
Fair enough... If she couldn't get to Mustang directly...perhaps she could get to him through his subsidiaries. She saw Havoc notice her approach and stiffen, and she straightened her back a little. She hadn't duped any poor, single saps in a while. She hoped she hadn't gotten rusty...
