Erm...since we don't sit down in symphonic band...I really don't even know who first "chair" is...or what my number is XD
In jazz band, if rhythm section did chairs, I would be first since I'm in the class and the other piano player is not.

4. What classification does your BD rank under?
Constantly goes against what he says, wastes a lot of time talking, always forgets to tell us what's important. Few people like him, though many people still respect him because the band is a lot better now than it was before he got here (he only started teaching at my school four years ago)

Marching band: 6
Jazz band: 2 piano players, 7 of us in rhythm section
Symphonic band: I think 7...

Jazz band: I think Jump Jive 'an Wail, though it might have been something else.

High school

Meaning my family was band geeks? Well, my sister was, but she was a senior in high school eight years ago, so nobody knows her in the band program. And my dad was in marching band 3 years, football for one.

11. Inside jokes of band??
Pit shares this joke with the cymbal players, but it originated in our section. Chunky peanut butter means bondage. And we asked the percussion instructor if he prefers chunky or smooth and he said "it depends on my mood". So you can see where that's going...

12.If you could, what color would your insrtument be?
Most of them are black, so I'd say red or blue.

13. Are you involved in anything outside of band with your instrument?
I play piano at home for fun, and I might be doing keyboards/aux percussion for a rock band...if that ever gets started

14. Have you put anything on your instrument to define it? (stickers marker [ect.])
Well, nobody's going to take my piano, and the percussion isn't technically mine. When I first started violin, we had tape to mark where the fingers should be. Mine fell off, so I put powerpuff girls stickers there instead. Then they fell off...but I didn't need them anymore.

15. (that reminds me) How many dents are in your instrument?Stories
The bell set is missing a key. First away game, loading crew dropped it and the keys came out. The put all of them back in that they found, but somehow lost the lowest C (it's 2.5 octaves). As I said to two of the guys on loading crew, I understand things get dropped. I didn't use the key a lot anyways, but what I didn't understand was how when it was dropped, all three latches came open and the top came off before it hit the ground.

One of the marimba keys is a different color because someone broke the bar that was originally there. Somehow they thought using brass mallets on a wooden instrument was smart.

There's a crack in the lowest vibe resinator. The perc instructor says it's only cosmetic, but warn him if it gets bigger. When loading crew took it off the truck ramp, somehow it came off. I was there...me and the guy who had it just gave eachother this wide eyed look. It wasn't his fault...it just kinda happened.

16.Do you look good while you play your instrument?
I think I look good when I play piano usually...and for percussion it depends on the instrument. I look stupid when I play violin though. And I think I look good when I mess aruond on my guitar

17. Best compliment for your playing?
It definately would not be when people shout "MORE COWBELL" during Low Rider, seeing as I'm one of the three cowbell players >>;;

18. Weirdest instrument you've ever seen?
There's this thing in the percussion cabinet called a flexitone. It makes amusing noises. And there was some sort of bass saxiphone...it was I think around 8ft tall.

19.Tap your foot?
I'm usually standing or using a pedal, or both, so it's kinda hard ^^;;

20.Least liked section?
My section (pit/front ensemble), followed by trumpets.

21. Lessons?
Piano: used to, but couldn't afford lessons a few years ago. Never started back up
Percussion: Yes, with my percussion instructor
Violin: No
Guitar: I would, but I'd have to give up percussion lessons, so I'm self teaching

23. How much do you hate your section.
I love my section. I wouldn't trade it for any other section. Except for the crazy chick who says the ENTIRE band was off, except her and lied about having cancer. Yeah, I'd stab her in the eye if I could. But the rest of my section rocks.

24. Are you really a geek and in band, or do you just love band so much that your a band geek? There is a difference you know.
What? No, I'm a geek in the band.

25. How long does it take you to set up your instrument?
For piano at my house I merely sit down and play. At school, it usually takes a minute or two if I don't chat with my friend during it. Cause at school for jazz band, I have to push it to where the guitars are, plug it into the amp, and make sure it's working (though I usually let the guitarists take care of that cause I don't know much about amps yet). For marching band, it takes ten seconds after someone comes over and helps me because putting the bells on the stand on top of the marimba is a two person job.

26. Do you practice, or are you talented enough were you don't have to? or are you just lazy and have no talent so your like last chair?
I don't practice. For piano and percussion, it works nicely. Though that didn't go so well with violin. I hated it anyways. I don't know about guitar yet

Well, I was friends with my friends before we were in band. But I also have friends through band. And I have plenty of friends outside of band too

I don't understand the question...o_O

29. Concert/Marching Band attire?
Marching band: A "jacket" that is half white, half black, and theres a sash where the white meets the black. The pants are all black, and so are the shoes. A white gauntlet goes on the left arm, where the sleeve is white. And black on the right arm. Most of the sections have shakos (sp), but my section can't wear them and see, so we have uniform headbands instead.

My drumsticks are made by zildjian, but I'm really not picky. I just get what feels right to me. My favorite mallets are made by musser. As for guitar picks, when I mess around I just use whatever I can find in the house.

32.How many times has somone fallen off they're chair/tripped in Marching band/ Band?
I don't think anyone's fallen off their chair, unless percussion was somewhere else with our instructor. During attention, this one girl almost tripped over a chair. And my freshman year, someone was so focused on marching that they hit their head on a school bus mirror. And two people fainted during band preview this summer (one of them is on this guild, too)

I was the only one to not cut off on time and she looked at me and made her hand in the shape of a gun, pointed at me and said "boosh!! Dead flute". I slowly ducked my head behind the stand.

None right now, I took it to the shop and got it fixed. But here's this really retarded story on how my flute got bent in HALF. Holy shiznicks!!
We were at marching band practice after school and we had to clear the way for the track pples who were running. My mind went blank for about a minute and this girl had to pull me out of the way before some really tall track-and-field guy almost ran over me. Unfortunately, my flute was hit right at opening of my A flat key!! It was dent so bad it wouldn't even move. And my foot joint went flying off somewhere onto the field about 5 yards infront of me.

Nope. I feel like my lips look like gorillas lips when i play because i have a huge overbite. XD

My private lesson teacher told me "If you keep playing like that, I know you'll make region." XDD

One of those base flutes.

I do, but it's so weird. I tap my foot to a constant beat one time, then it starts to go all crazy like off beat, but i'm still playing on beat. ???

Our percussion section is really cocky when it comes to playing rap songs or weird beats, but they can't read or play the music right that or bd gives us.

After we palyed for a little bit, I noticed it was gone. I glared at Skyler and asked him where it was, and when I turned around, he threw it at Graham. This continued for a few minutes, until Jerrod took it and gave it to me. I hooked it on my belt loop, and Skyler tried to take it again, and he almost ripped my belt loop.

That practice was funny as crap xD
