You know what's wrong with the video game market, too many damn spin-off and promotion games based off of existing games. Every time I see Sponge-Bob the game, or Toy Story the game, I think, okay, little kids under five might really enjoy this and there is probably a market for it. But then again, there are so many spin-off games competing for that market you'd think you'd start seeing less, but those games are about half your options.
RPG games are starting become less and less original, as if the writers are running out of ideas.
FPS can have the same problem, too many games based off of WWII is one example. Can't they try some older wars, new ideas.
If something is original and successful, it is overexposed until the last possible drop of profit can be milked from it. Eventually, the developers do everything as cheaply as possible, relying only on the name to sell. It's time for the final fantasy series to exit to make room for new blood.
The Wii wins the award for lamest games options and kiddie spin-offs, Cake Party? Baby Shower Deluxe? Hospice Nurse Helper, Let's Vacuum our Room. I play video games to escape this sort of thing!! xd In all fairness though, the Wii is an awesome system and I love it when I do find a good game like Zelda or Silent Hill that makes use of its potential.
