MerDefsGirl
redface Cute pleading look.

MERRRRRRR

[Steps forward and crashes a powerful right hay-maker into your face, sending you to the sun.] YOU DON'T AUTO-WIN, DEAL WITH IT AND FIGHT WITH ALL OF YOUR FURY, HYRRRHHNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

[Turns around and closes his eyes dramatically as she tinkles in the sky as a star.] Now. Onto more pressing matters.

KB's departure is sad. As much of a f** as he was being, he truly did offer decent insights on the tournament and some solid suggestions amidst said faggotry. However, clearly he lacked the ability to keep level-headed to persist trying to propose changes, instead constantly complaining about his defeat and insulting the judges while donning the troll card when people would believe it.

While I insult the judges anyway because I'm a badass, it's second nature to what I actually say in a post. For he, it was vice-versa; a true shame, as he could've done the guild some good hadn't he been reduced to mindless rage faggotry. We shall remember his departure in the chronicles, as well as the departure of [The Dragon Lord], for now Schwarz Bruder is surpreme, so sayeth the chronicles.

Now, onto even more pressing matters.

Square made way better games for the SNES than they have since. Discuss.

Back then, Square cared about quality as they were trying to move their way up the money ladder. Now that they're at the top, it's the same ole same ole cash-milking process. I suppose the only way you can expect any good games out of them again is if they are almost out of business again. Maybe then it'll force them to give the people what they want instead of delaying the quality games just to get a little more money.

Then again, the company went under since the natives of its former designs have moved on to other companies, lives, and making other games.

I often feel like FFVI was the last of a great era in RPG's.

Even though FFVII is my favourite. It is not because of the gamplay, but more my love of the characters and the nostalgia I feel when I remember how amazed I was to see those 3D block people.

Square's dead to me. They do nothing but rehash the same s**t these days, the only decent titles are remakes of older titles and new iterations of FF, and even those're getting annoying.

The fact they shut down the fan 3D non-profit remake of Chrono Trigger just to port it to the DS was proof enough there.

However, were it just FF, that'd be one thing; you look at their SNES series, they had SO MANY different RPG titles with such vibrantly different ways to play them. Titles that were like adventure-RPGs, titles that were pretty much archaic versions of Armored Core, titles that were like a cross of FF and Pokemon. Granted, quite a few never made it to the states, but still.

Now, I know for a fact they'll never be that good again. Because I already have a gist for their plan. "If we do go under as a company, that's when we remake FFVII."

Bam. Instantly flourishing again so they can do the same s**t. It's almost sickening.

What made me angry was that they have so many other series to go back and explore, and yet, they're keeping with the same stuff, including acting like a publisher and helping companies they bought make different games. Which, is a start. Just, well, Square isn't Square anymore. Quite frankly, Atlus is doing pretty well so far, RPG or not, so they're mainly my focus right now. I just hate that damn Persona series with a passion.

I'm mad a company like Cing can do poorly, yet one like Square can do so very well. It's a damn travesty in this day and age.

Or that Sega reps have the gall to say in the same interview:

"There were just too few sales for Shenmue.."

"..Shenmue III is our most requested game, hahaha!"

The faggotry is astounding. Give me a company who has business sense yet gives a s**t about making their games. Valve does an alright job, but I need more.

FOOLISH OMI, YOU FORGOT TO MENTION SUPER MARIO RPG!

But, yes, Square has failed us. For example, there was never a sequel to SMRPG, despite countless fans pleading with Square to make one.

And then Paper Mario came out, and Nintendo was like "LOLE LOOK SMRPG2 RITE?!". And of course, while Paper Mario is awesome (The first one mainly, as with all series), it cannot match SMRPG.

Thoughts? *puffs cigar*

I'll tell you this much, having studied much of how the business work. The problem is that the game industry enjoys money too much. They enjoy it so much that they're keeping to the same ole genre (FPS I'm staring at you) to go for safe bets, instead of placing their faith out on the limb at something new. It's a risk, but that's what a lot of game companies did back then, and thus, the best ones came out, while some sunk under. That's just how it works. You have to make risks to make it to the top, and to do that, you need the right funding for the more innovative games out there.

Therefore, commercial wise, you have these very big companies that have already established dominance such as Nintendo, Blizzard, EA, Atlus, Microsoft, and Bioware (Im missing some others I know), and so, you have this very HUGE wall to overcome if you even want to be just as great of success as these giants. They can do whatever they want when they want, and Blizzard is exceptionally guilty of this. The smart thing to do is to hook up with one of these companies to rise up the ladder with funds, but you have to also put in the mindset that you won't be there for long. Connections, having the credits of successful games, and having a sense of business (and game design; dont seperate these two), will let you go even further.

My goal is to reach these tiers when I start my company, and adapt a business strategy that is focused on going for the new avenues.

Well then, I suppose I know whose stock to buy in the gaming industry, eh Vintrict?

Although, I have to say, the fact that you didn't mention Sony in your listing was...odd. Even though you admitted you could've missed some, that still seemed odd to me.

At least it was until I remembered the PS3 is $400 GODDAMN DOLLARS AT ITS CHEAPEST DAMN PRICE.

That was enough to make me RAGEQUIT Sony. And its a shame too, because I REALLY wanted to play MGS4.

..The only good scene with that character in the whole series. And for all the wrong reasons.

Also, SMRPG was continued via the spiritual sequel Paper Mario. In fact, Mario RPGs on the DS as well are rampant now, and pretty much always good. This, I really can't fault, because while Nintendo still uses Mario as their cash-crop, he's a solid play in just about every Mario title excluding the Mario Party series and anything similar.
