lol.

I'm a concurrent student...Highschool and College...should be able to graduate HS as soon as I get the pe credits/hours done...

Again I iterate how nice AP classes are acting as both college and high school credit for me...well technically the class itself is high school but then the test associated with it is college credit earning...Got a whole years worth of college out of the way before even leaving high school...to bad I screwed up that advantage with my dropping out in the first year...but that's a whole 'nother story in my life chapter.

I am just high school, though I am taking several college courses, I think i have almost finished a semesters worth of credidt, or is a year? hmm can't remember.

Well for me I got...lemme see....

All of my first year Calculus out of the way (5 on the test for both AB and BC)
All of my first year Physics out of the way (5 again on the test)
Ditto for Chemistry (again a 5 on the AP test)
All my Biology (only a 4 on the test though)
and I believe at least a semesters worth of Civics with my AP US History (only got a 3 on that test though)

AP English...yeah...only a 2 on that test so not enough to get any college credit, (not my fault I can't read at the speed of light like everyone else...)

And to No_Day it really depends on the college you go to as far as how much credit you get from college level high school courses. And what kind of major your going for.

Well I can say that I do have an easier time understanding most abstract concepts better than others and lateral thinking, (intuition is such a lovely talent,) I can't really call myself as being particularly smarter than others. I got lucky in that I had teachers in high school that forced me to do practice work for all their subjects, (least in the science and math department) so by the time it came to the tests I had it completely memorized...

The way the teachers in my college now teach it its a lot harder for me cause either A. they only have tests and no homework practice to help me memorize the information, or B. the other way around having only homework and/or projects and no real heavy in class discussion or tests over the subjects...in either case I lose my motivation to even try to remember the subject matter over a long term period.

ah, well that sucks but you both are doing so good. I hope you keep it up.

Yes, definitely take advantage of all the AP classes you can. I only took 4... should have taken all 8 I had the opportunity to take. My high school had an agreement with a local college that some of our advanced classes would act like college credits which was great. I was able tot ake those credits and use them as transfer credits to other schools. At least one semester got finished while in high school!

Of course, didn't help me who became the proverbial life-long student for um.... about nine years. But hey, I have a masters now so I'm fine and dandy.

Take the APs if you can. And if not, that's okay. College is fun smile

But it was all for the sake of knowledge right though, Jedi? (note the slight degree of sarcasm here.)

Of course. I've never failed a class. Just kept switching my major.

I actually enjoy courses. I kind of wish I could go back.

The department I got my MS from is going to have an EdD program in 2010... I'm debating whether or not to get it. I would be eligible to be a professor if I did... but I don't know if I'd have the time between both jobs or the $$. Cause I'd have to quit teaching for them to go to school for them and my adjunct teaching pays for extras...

Life decisions suck.

I miss being a kid sometimes wink

See now for me...In high school i had no choice...so i had to go to class, and because I went to class I had little else to do but pay attention to the teacher, (being that I was a bit competitive when around other students) and actually learn. But now in college...I don't feel the same degree of competitive motivation from the other students, and I already know if I wanted to I could prove myself better, but again I have no motivation.

On top of that, my mental psychology has been changing over the last few years for a number of reasons including finally hitting maturity (yeah I'm easily 3-5 years behind the average person my age both physically and mentally in terms of maturity) and as my mental psychology has changed, I have begun to realize that despite appearing to others to be a 'balanced' learner, (in terms of visual, audio, or tactile learning) I'm actually quiet unbalanced and really am primarily a kinesthetic learner with a mediocre visual memory, and low audio memory. Which means I prefer actually doing something with my hands/body or experiencing what I learn, rather than the annoying notes and studying methodology.
