I'm not so embarrassed about RPing as I am about logging onto Gaia. Looks like such a kiddie site. Almost as bad as logging onto NeoPets.
But yeah, I wouldn't consider RPing here anywhere near LARPing. Hell, this is even a step above playing games like D&D. At least when you have to write down hobbies on an application you can play it off as creative writing.

Gotta say, at least with D&D you actually go out of your house to play with friends, and have like... small parties with pizza and drinks and stuff. You can talk about pop culture and include it in gaming and have fun.
On Gaia or online in general its like, you're sitting there by yourself going LOLCAT OMG LONGCAT 2 SO FUNNI K TIEM TO JURKIT WERE MA FURRIEZ?

I've been to a Gaia meet up thing before, it was pretty gay. Internet memes aren't funny in real life.
But when you tell someone you play D&D, most people know what it is and can immediately call you a loser. Tell someone you play on Gaia, they're most likely whooshed. Those who aren't normally are just as big of a loser as you so it's all around pretty win.
