Reeve smiles. "Thankee, Iri. I'll fall out a this speech mode in a bit. So whit dojo are y'enroll't in?" He falls into pace alongside her and begins twirling the wooden flute between his fingers. (( S'okay, Iri!))

Irianna rolls her eyes skyward and says, "Technically, I'm not enrolled in any dojo. I'm here to be instructed by a Kaze sensei, only the Academy doesn't have a current sensei for that element. A lack of a teacher put a damper on my spirits, but not for long. That meadow is a result of one of my attempts to teach myself new uses for my element, though that technique was inspired by another member of the Academy."
She looks at Reeve out of the corner of her eye and adds, "I would train in another element, but I'm a natural wind adept, so that might be more difficult than one would think."

(( Sorry it's taking so long- crappy connexion)) He laughs. "Sorry- I werenae tryina' recruit ye'r nothin'. 'Twas on'y curiosity. Honestly I figured ye were in Water- most everyone is. I was actually a kaze student like you when I first came, but there were no sensei then either." He closes his eyes for a second, remembering times gone by.

(( lol Don't worry about it. My buddy keeps getting a hold of the computer, and that's as bad as poor Internet connection. ))
Violet eyes widen marginally in genuine curiousity. "There hasn't been a Kaze sensei for that long? Wow. I'm glad Sage convinced me to start teaching myself."

"Aye. That was Drake- sensei... He showed up long enough t'come to me wedding. Never learned a single technique from him...By Eirra, that was some time ago..." As he recollects, his voice softens and the harsh grate of his Eirrenian accent dulls a little. "Anyway, that's why I took up Rai, and am a sensei now. Although, I've ne'er had a student."

"Drake? Sounds familiar, but I know I haven't met him."
The winged woman walks in silence for a while, trying to catch her breath. Expending so much energy all at once left her fatigued. Walking and speaking are starting to tell on her currently limited store of energy. Determined not to let her pain and exhaustion get to her, Irianna looks back at Reeve. Her head is tilted in the manner of a curious bird, red hair falling about her face.
"You said you've never had a student. Why not, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Me? I've nae had a student just cos no one wants to learn Rai. Like I said, Every'ain wants to learn Mizu or Ho. Once upon a time, I did teach a little of herbalism but the classes were ne'er regular." As if reading her thoughts, he adds, "You're tired, missie. We can leave conversation till we're a' home." He takes the flute and puts it to his lips, playing this time a lively jig in time to their footsteps.

White wings droop a little at the thought of silence and Irianna almost objects. Then reason voices itself in her mind. Reeve is definately right about being tired. The kind of pain and fatigue she is experiencing is enough to make her long for a lengthy nap on one of the couches lining the main dojo's entrance hall.
I don't mind the music, though. Flutes always sound so pretty.
Before long, Irianna finds herself humming softly with the sound of the flute, her discomfort almost forgotten.
(( Yep, I'm still here. ))

(( 'Lo)) Reeve smiles around his flute, tempted to stop playing and see if she still hums. However, as he considers this, the familiar construction of the Academy comes into view. ~Home, sweet home...~

Violet eyes light up at the sight of the dojo. Almost immediately her gaze falls on her favorite spot: The lush patch of grass in front of the stone fountain facing away from the main building. The air always flows so well past that little patch.
A light twinge in her back reminds Irianna of the day's accomplishment. Though she must learn to control it, her technique was a success. She looks about for her inspiration, but doesn't find Sage. A stray wind brings the scent of pancakes to her nose, though, so Irianna imagines the sagehirn must be nearby. Just as well. The woman isn't sure if she has the energy left for another long conversation.
An unexpected yawn forces itself from Irianna's throat. She stretches her arms and wings a little. Sleep beckons, and the winged woman is looking forward to it. She should do something about the scratches and splinters marring her back, Irianna thinks to herself as she walks into the dojo's spacious main hall. Though she isn't prone to infections, the numerous wounds could be much more painful later if she doesn't take care of them. Maybe she'll do that after a short nap?

Reeve lets her head ahead inside (( to sleep, maybe?)) as he walks over to the monument he made oh-so-long-ago. He kneels and prays before it, offering his respects before walking in the dojo.

As the others made it to the dojo, Sage made his way to the front entrance. Through the trees he came. His teeth were locked together, his lips in a slight grimace. His right arm was dangling, held in a solid crystal of ectoplasm. And his gait was slow and deliberate. On the upside...I'm going to try this technique somewhat differently...on the downside, I'm going to have to keep a layer of ectoplasm on my right arm for a while until I grow some new damn skin....or at least until it scabs over. Oh...and there's always the fact that I'll get to practice my self healing techniques. But first and foremost..I'll need something to drink.

Irianna takes a seat on one of the long couches and sets her travel bag on the floor. She opens the bag to take out a few things. Soon her leatherbound book, favorite pen, a woolen blanket, and a small jar are resting on the table before her.
First Irianna props the book up on her lap and adds a note beside her earlier entry, making sure to underline it: "Monitor chakra use closely and never overestimate yourself!" That done, she replaces the book and pen. Next time, she will know better than to overstep her limited boundaries. To perform the jutsu properly, she will have to spend time strengthening her chakra.
Her attention now rests on the small jar. Irianna picks it up and removes the lid. The scent of aloe vera reaches her nose. Mentally preparing herself for the sting of the salve, Irianna takes a little on her fingers and carefully spreads it across her many cuts. The aloe vera probably won't do much for the spreading bruises, but it will help heal everything else. She will take out the splinters a little later, when her limbs aren't so sore.
When she's done with the jar of salve, Irianna puts it back in her bag and pulls the drawstring tight. Hissing a little in pain, Irianna allows herself to lay down on her stomach. Her wings carefully avoid her back and Irianna reaches down to spread the blanket across her lower half.
Probably won't sleep right away, but at least I'm comfortable...

After dragging himself into the main room of the dojo, Sage spots Iri on the couch. After looking at her for a few moments, he speaks up, " well, I'm not really sure which one of us is more messed up....me with ecto-burns...or you with what looks like wood in your back."
