"You're ill..." Was all Tegral said as he took another step towards Kahlendria. Shutting his light off he knelt down beside her, "Do you wish medical attention?" Regardless Tegral was going to "assist" the woman.

"Medical? Like....priests? Clerics even?" Her mind was fuzzy. Those were the ones who did most of the healing, and as her thoughts drifted to that bunch she couldn't help but thinkof the horde she'd fought. She could smell them, and taste them. Shrugging, her armor clinked. It was a miracle that she could even breathe in he stuff. Letting her sword go, she seemed to reach out for something that wasn't there. A name was mumbled, and then she collapsed silently.

Silence...Slipping one of his arms under Kahlendria's legs, sliding the other behind her back, Tegral lifted her off the ground with ease. Priests? Who the hell needed priests? Tegral had something better...he had technology! Turning back towards the cave he started at a quick walk. He didn't care if the woman died, but he did need a body, alive, to work with.

Kuro had made herself a home near the waterfall. . .well, rather behind the waterfall. Inside the once lonely and forlorn cave was now her den of sorts. In the center there was a fire pit which she had constructed of stone and a few feet away lay a spot that was further up off the cave bottom of which she arranged various furs, it was almost like a nest. Around the fire pit were large logs which she had dragged in, with the help of her demon strength.
On the other side of cave was various weaponry and armor, a large iron chest was placed just off to the side, holding various items of clothing and jewelry, which she would in turn sell off for money.
Near the back of the cave there was a dark form, black fur and peircing amber eyes. A large wolf, nearly the size of a small horse. Her companion, Makoto, whom she had picked up in her various walks through the forest. She had saved him from a group of villagers who wanted to kill him because of what he was. Kuro had nursed him back to health and he had become a friend and one that protected her on her elven night.
Kuro smiled and stroked Makoto's head lightly, laughing when he growled contently. It was a sad laugh though, she had not truly laughed in a long while, smiled truly either. She stared into the crackling fire, watching the flames twist and turn.
"Just like my life, the fire burns, burns, burns." She continued the slow stroking motion on Makoto's head.

Kuro lately had spent her days hunting alongside Makoto. It had been peaceful lately, none of the members of the wolf-demon tribe had come after her for awhile. The last one had come on her Elven night, Makoto had ripped him to pieces. She knew her next Elven night would come in a few weeks and most likely there would be more than one or two council members coming after her.
She was now sitting in her new home her sword laid across her lap, sharpening it with a river stone. Makoto lay at her side, it was cool out tonight and the fire wasn't enough to keep warm.
Makoto growled suddenly, his ears perking up and his nose twitched. He started advancing toward the entrance of the cave. Kuro stood up and followed behind him.
"Makoto what is. . ." She then heard the slight heavy but almost silent breathing outside the entrance. She bent down slightly preparing to spring, her sword drawn back. Her eyes were wide, searching, her heartbeat increasing. At the last second when she was going to spring, there was movement and then everything went silent. She searched again for any sign of someone outside and then moved over placing a hand on the wall. The air pulse and a barriar was erected over the cave entrance.
"Spies. . .damn low lifes." She moved back towards the fire. "I think, Makoto, it's time to expand our arsenal." She smiled when she heard Makoto growl in agreement.

Sarah collapsed, exhilarated by her success on the battlefield. Her eyes were glazed over with joy as she leaned back against the trunk of a tree, more day-dreaming than actually looking at anything. She had helped the cult in opening several huge portals, to and from locations of great complexity. It was a feat very few accomplished at her age, and as she began to mumble to herself she felt sure she could tackle the next step. "Warren, you think that someone could enter that place KB has spoke of?" She turned onto her side, propping her head with her hand as she looked to her Guardian. Warren was always so introverted, keeping within himself his thoughts and putting forth the ignorant image of a machine.
"KB is very foolish sometimes Sarah." Warren replied, glancing down at some of the plants nearby. He hadn't done anything to assist in the battle, and the very thought of battle made him shiver. All the blood that had been spilt, that had once covered him. He to could bleed, but only a sickly green oil that drained the life out of every plant it touched. "I wouldn't be getting your hopes up." He suggested simply, as he reached down and shifted aside some odd plants. He then plucked a flower from the ground, and held it up to inspect it.
Sarah simply rolled her eyes, and fell back against the tree. Perhaps Warren was right, then again his seriousness could be a real downer. With a slight shrug of her shoulders she began to trace odd swirly symbols against the bark of the tree. "Maybe now KB will notice me more." She mumbled to herself, blushing slightly at the thought. Every member of the cult, young or old, desired glorification and advancement among the ranks of the forsaken. That is, mostly everyone. There were some oddballs like Warren, and the break-away sect that had recently been purged.

Crushing the delicate plant within his stone hands, Warren sighed. Broken petals dropped from his grip as he let the tattered thing fall. His heavy footsteps could be heard as he began to wander off through the forest. "He calls upon us. The battle-blooded. The creations born of vile minds. The highest of his order. He's calling to all of us." His words were more to himself than to Sarah, though her head perked up and she scrambled to her feet to follow him.
"What're you going on about this time Warren? It'd better not be another silly story about your plants." She giggled, and playfully tugged on his large sturdy arm. She loved to tease her guardian, trying to reach deep within the golem to find a hidden sense of humor. Though, upon seeing he didn't respond, she simply pouted and followed him. Obviously Warren wasn't too happy about something, though what bothered him was yet to be seen.
After quite some time, the two stopped. Warren then reached behind him, to take his blade off his back. A few slight adjustments fitted it to his arm, covering his right hand entirely. "Sarah, I need you to do me a favor. It is the last thing I may ever ask of you..."
"What is it?" She asked, a slight look of worry covering her face. Though Warren often advised the wisdom of odds, it was unlike him to speak as though he were fated. In fact, if anyone had ever felt an urge to break the bounds of their creation, it was certainly him. His hatred towards KB and all other creators was nearly palpable.
"A gate. " He answered. Before moments later adding, "Forgive me Sarah. I hope happiness isn't elusive in your future. " It was then that he reached out, his left hand taking ahold of her small head. He could have crushed her, but he loved her so, like a daughter he couldn't keep. His inner companion forced it's way into her mind, and she let out a shriek.
The shriek persisted, becoming a blood-curdling scream as Sarah clutched Warren. Her eyes closed tightly, as blood gushed down her nose. The pain was unimaginable, and her body spasmed as she fought against the thing that dominated her. It wasn't Warren, or his companion, but rather the protections she fought in her effort to bring forth a gate to a sealed place. Her blood boiled, her mind wracked with a pain that seemed to scrape her very soul. The magic that coursed through her essence was taking the brunt of the sealing spell, and yet somehow she was breaking through.
After nearly twenty minutes of persisted torture, she collapsed to her knees. She was alone now, and Warren was nowhere to be seen. Holding herself tightly, she curled into a ball and cried. Not from the pain, but because she had a feeling she may never see him again. Sobbing, Sarah scarcely noticed the ring of smoldering earth around her, or the soot that covered her nude form head to toe. Admist the pain she'd not been able to tell when Warren vanished, or when the fire had enveloped her. All she knew now was the darkness of the forest, and for the first time, lonliness.

Kuro walked through the forest quietly, she felt much more at ease in the dark rather than the light. Her eyes were luminous in the darkness and she kept her senses clear, open, and alert, walking silently and gracefully through the shadows. Makoto, the large black wolf, followed closely behind her, his head turning at the smallest amount of movement
They had been tracking a wild boar, but lost the scent awhile ago. Kuro had lost interest since she had heard the screams, ones that seemed to peirce the soul. She hadn't heard screams like that in awhile, not since she was a child. She growled low in her throat when she smelled the burnt Earth. She stiffened slightly when she felt the presence of another.
There was an aura there, so they were still alive. The aura held a magical essence, but she couldn't pinpoint an exact ability. So she approached cautiously, when she reached the scene she felt her whole body tense.
A young girl no older than 15 or 16 laid, covered in soot and curled up on the ground, sobbing like the world was coming to an end.
Compassion quickly overroad instinct and Kuro quickly yanked a blanket from her pack. She moved to wrap the girl up, covering her nudity, and sheilding her from the cool night air. Then she moved to hold the girl in her arms, an effort to help comfort the obviously grief stricken child.
She ran her clawed nails throught the girl's hair, something her mother used to do when trying to comfort her, and kept her eyes open to the surroundings, searching for someone, anyone, who would be looking for the girl and was met with only darkness.
"shh. . .shh. . .you are alright now, everything is going to be alright."

Sarah would flinch as she was taken into the woman's arms, but would offer no more resistance. Her eyes shut tightly, her sobs quieted, succumbing to the sound of her jerky breathing as she fell into a much-needed yet fitful sleep.
The warmth of the woman, and the blanket, was much-appreciated. However even in the cold of the night, she seemed to be burning up. Running a high fever, she shivered and balled her tiny hands into fists. Things seemed to be switching from a burning heat to a deathly cold, bringing a sick feeling to her stomache. Dreams came to her quickly, and she muttered Warren's name between each cry of pure undiluted pain.

Kuro glanced around, once again searching for someone who knew the girl. Her arms tightened around the girl automatically with each cry of pain. Even as the child called out a name, Kuro was calling the large black wolf over. Makoto could offer more warmth than she could and was faster. She would get the girl to her den, there she had herbs and it was safer to practice any healing magic.
She placed a hand to the girl's forehead, muttering soft words. A soft light shimmered and then was gone, hopefully the small healing spell would cause the pain to become less prominent.
"Hush little one, be still. . . .let my spell do it's job and the hurt will ease." She lifted the girl easily and moved to climb onto Makoto's back. Her finger locked onto his hair and she held the girl close. Makoto leaned back and prepare to leap forward into a run, back to the den.

The spell seemed to help, as it lessened the pain her body felt. Still sleeping, she was unaware of the kindness she recieved. Horrific images still danced around in her mind, but soon were gone, lost to a steady deep void of unconciusness.
Overall, she wasn't doing half-bad, given the circumstances and the nature of the spell she'd been pitted against. Now it was up to her, and the help of her new friend to determine whether she'd recover, or simply become a vegetable.

Kuro and Makoto wasted no time in getting back to the den, but as Makoto bounded through the forest Kuro let herself question where the girl had come from. Who she belonged to. The girl was young, just past puberty, Kuro could see that she was human, not demon, nor android. She pulled the blanket tighter around the girl.
What name had the girl called out to? Warner. . .Warden, no it was Warren, but she had not scented much of anything esle. Maybe it was because of the girl's intense pain that she didn't take the time to decifer any other pressences beside what she could see.
As Makoto reached the waterfall, Kuro leaped from his back, carrying the girl's limp form through the falling water. She waved a hand towards the fire and muttered something, seemingly satisfied as the fire sprung to life. She grabbed some furs that were hanging around and made a makeshift bed near the fire, setting the girl in a laying position. She found clothing in the old chest on the side, it had probably been her's a long time ago. She shook her head. She dressed the girl in the garmets then recovered her. She spared the girl one more glance before she went to laying out the herbs she would need.

It seemed that the girl was still alive, though she'd broken out with an intense fever and her breathing was ragged and shallow. Drenched in sweat, she hardly managed the strength to meakly cough every once and awhile. She'd still yet to wake, and didn't seem to be aware of anything. She didn't even mutter Warren's name anymore, and it seemed that whatever had happened would require quite some time to heal.
Though, Sarah's health wasn't the only one failing. Deep in the forest, some trees had begun to die, growing grey and frail. Of course it was still in the winter season, and so the change was hardly noticable against the other trees. Regardless, the evil taint that leached them steadilly grew. With each passing day it would suck more life from the great trees, and reach out to the next. Under the earth a soul fought in vain, the flowers it sought to preserve being crushed before it's very eyes. The child could only watch as the metal plates slowly righted themselves, the rusty steel grinding and flaking as it retook it's form. K was buried deep beneath the earth, where he had been laid to rest...and yet, it seemed something sought to have him rise once more. One could assume with almost perfect accuracy that K was not the cause of the taint, but to those who hadn't met the boy, it seemed his armor was the core of the evil plagueing the forest.

The trees rustled quietly almost in greeting as the woman passed. Speaking to herself or perhaps to the trees, she smiled. "It is nice to get away from those villages. I just hope I can find that dojo. Imagine a forest elf getting lost in a forest. Embarrassing."
Earlier she had left to find the Black company dojo. Things had gotten quiet and now she believed was the right time to find some work. "I wonder what they look for in their members? I haven't heard they relied too much on information agents. I guess I'll do some research and then ask for a job." She finalized it as she placed her fist in her hand.
Approaching a clearing she recieved her first glance of the dojo.

The earth shifted slightly, loose soil being shoved aside as a metal hand erupted forth. Grasping upwards at the frigid air that formed around it, the fingers curled. Rusty metal grated against itself, causing some orange powder to flake off.
It wasn't long before the entire body had pulled itself up from the earth, wordlessly cofirming it's revival. Crunching anything beneath it's heavy steps, the armored body began to move towards the Dojo. Each heavy plate shifted with every movement, causing more rust to flake away. The right arm of the suit of animated metal seemed too contorted to be used, and black sickly vines seemed to sproud from the dirt within the armor. Pulsing, the vines shifted as they worked their way through the once hollow form. K himself could only silently squeal in futile defiance, as his body became the host for a terrible plant of undeath. A plant that bore armor, it seemed.
