Okay. Were they gay? I'm trying to be delicate because I don't know how you future types discuss it, but in this trade I got, Brainy's kissing him and I'm confused as there's an enormous gap between this trade and the previous I got. Last trade he wasn't particularily fond of Invisible Kid. And they certainly weren't on 'kiss on the cheek' terms.

*crosses fingers a couple times* Tom Peyer, the last writer before DnA came in, said that yes, they were going to be a couple. He didn't get to follow through, and DnA forgot all about it.

They did do the same thing with Vi and Ayla in the Five Years Later issues. They didn't say they were lesbians, but it was obvious. I think DC didn't want the Bierbaums to flat-out take the two of them out of the closet.
