At the moment, he is working on putting together not only a new group, but a new game that appeals to me. He is trying to put together a tactics game from Robotech. I told him I am most definitely in . . . if it occurs. He is known for being full of stories, but if this happens it will be fun. I loved that show, particularly the Cyclone armors and Alpha Fighters

Ah, that sounds like it could be a fun game. I hope it manages to get off the ground.

As do I. Robotech was the first Anime I ever recall watching, and the cyclone armors (the motorcycle/power armor) is something I've always loved intensely.

Ah, one's first anime often holds a special place in their heart. I know mine do (the initial Toonami programming block: DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Gundam Wing).

I have a love/hate relationship with DBZ, watched enough of Salior Moon to know the Japanese version was better, and to date no Gundam really grabbed my attention. sweatdrop

Well, DBZ and Sailor Moon aren't of the highest objective quality, but I stand by Gundam Wing being a 10/10. That doesn't mean you would find it compelling, of course, as even top-tier anime don't necessarily have mass appeal (though, one could argue that a degree of mass appeal is required for something to be truly top-tier, but mass appeal is an inherently subjective factor dependent upon culture and presentation, so it probably doesn't belong in a measure of quality intended toward objectivity [as close to objectivity as people can get, of course]).

I'm a quirky individual. Or perhaps just picky. I don't really have a reason for it. Despite my interest in Big Robot anime and drama, none of the Gundams have ever done anything for me. It's sad, really.

Wing is probably the lowest rated of the Gundam series I've watched so far. We shant speak of the two EXTRA HERETICAL series here. I just couldn't get behind the whole "We shall talk for 20 minutes of the episode about the reasons for this needlessly complex war and only when we are done shall we actually do anything of interest haha!" method.

The appeals of the Giant Robot (Gurren Lagann) and Real Robot (Gundam, excluding G) subgenres of Mecha are different, but I know you like enough Real Robot anime (Code Geass, though in S2 it leans toward Giant Robot) to know what you meant, Magni.
I definitely understand, Skreemer, as GW is most assuredly highly political and semi-philosophical, which is not everybody's cup of tea for a Real Robot anime.

Yeah, though I do at least admire the aesthetics of the series. I have fond memories of building my first Gunpla of Deathscythe Hell, Wing Zero and Altron.

Yoder Skreemer Yeah, though I do at least admire the aesthetics of the series. I have fond memories of building my first Gunpla of Deathscythe Hell, Wing Zero and Altron. Wing and 00 (though I don't care for 00 itself) had some great designs. My friend who I used to run Gunderp with on facebook loves 00. I'll watch it at some point. I find my favorite way to enjoy the designs is the Gundam Warriors series. 3 is so damn awesome to play, plus they do their best to have everything there.
