Well it' could be becuase unlike [insert annoying anime here] it ends. There's a beginning, middle, and end a pretty decent story and limited filler with some notable exceptions. The characters are well thought out and they have growth and change throughout the series.
Or it could be because it's been awhile since America made good animated shows.
