Most people like the other's I just found them pointless and boring and I really couldn't bring myself to care about the charactor's since they were flat and just plain boring.

School books we have to read are depressing/stupid. I mean in R and J both characters die. In OMS nothing good happens, he battles a fish and looses it to sharks.
I think you forgot the ever great story Old Man and the Sea.

When they say weighted GPA what do they mean? Because my report card thingy came in and it said I had a weighted GPA of 4.5, and it doesn't look right. o_O

I never read that. And I dont hate all school books they make you read. I liked Brave New World, Things Fall Apart, The Stranger and a few other's as well. It was a fifty fifty for me really.

Yeah I have no clue what that means either. But I know our freshman GPA's didn't count for anything since you couldn't really branch out to get a higher one than anyone else.

I disagree with you on that one Melph. (What a surprise.)
Spoilers of the book Huckleberry Finn ahead. Although I'm sure 90% of you have read it by now.
Huckleberry Finn was a supremely important novel of its time, setting the standards and breaking alot of literary rules. Besides, how can you say Huck is a flat and boring character, or Jim for that matter? Huck is so willing to help out his slave friend that he faces what he believes to be eternal damnation for him. Jim's character breaks the stereotype of African Americans in that time period, making him arguably the most well developed and intelligent person in that book. The major gripe I had with that book is the character of Tom Sawyer. He ruins the last segment of the book by leading Jim to think he is not in fact free, putting his, Huck's, and Jim's lives in mortal danger as they try to 'break him out'. I have a mass of other complaints about him but then I'll just get mad. I'll just add one last remark about little Sawyer: When he was shot in the end of the book I was greatly disappointed that he didn't die.
Take the book in the context of the time period it was written in and it doesn't seem so flat and boring.

I am sure it was important back then and it was probably interesting to. It's just not in the genra(sp) of books that I normally like and read, I just found it boring and quite frankly I couldn't bring myself to care about the charactor's in the books that I mentioned is all.
