[Kyla: Atlantica: Throne Room] Having sketched nearly most of the battle field surrounding Atlantica, Kyla had a good scope of what she had to work with. It would appear her original location would have to be somewhere between Kyles hideaway- and the front exterior of the Palace.
She’d have to confirm to Kyle about that first- sending him a mental image of her plotted map would be easy through charms.. Actually…
“ Here- this should help.” Kyla opened her book, held it out and open between them all, and the image on the page suddenly lifted off the them and became like a 3d projection. It could zoom in, and focs on locations they needed to discuss.
For started Kyla began jotting down possible places where each person suggested they could go- that way they could cross compare their positions. She smiled at Jenny as she put a dot with her name on it right between the calculated distance of Kyle’s meditation location and the Castle.
“ I won’t be too far- just be a few tail kicks outside your doorstep. “ Next she addressed them all again- “ As for the battle field defenses, I think I have something you can use. About the Geists there is something else you should know. In terms of defense against their touch I can protect you, but keep in mind it would be in spurts-” She illustrated by creating a giant lotus shield with it’s shape fragmenting into the layers of the flowers bud from the outside to inner core. they shifted in a partial phantasmal state, slipping effortlessly through the terrain, so it’s petals were jutting half way through, or floating in the endless watery field above. The shape began to shift and the petals rose and fell in patterns of rotation with Atlantica at it's epicenter.
“These walls can be used to block and or separate their numbers depending on where you need them to be. They will require much concentration- but if the orders are accurate I can get them to you if you’re about to be overwhelmed." " Sora- remember the cave? When we went after Rae?"
" I discovered back in Narnia- when Joe was …taken from us, that Geists cannot get through anything I create that is infused with my essence. I discovered this when thousands were set on us back in Ursula’s cave. I had used my pictomancy to make a wall, and a different version of the Lotus shield capsule around Rae when she was separated form us."
A small figment of the memory played back like a ghostly image over the map for them to see- like watching a fragmented playback of some video- Kyla's illustrative journal re-animated the event for them to see the phenomena in action.
"The more of myself I put into the shield, the stronger it held them back. It requires a lot of energy and concentration, but I’m stronger since that day- I believe I can juggle these much easier than before. What I will require is an accurate fix on where their numbers shift, so I know where and when to move the walls.”
This would mean their eyes on the battle field would be a crucial element to making the most of the shifting shields. this wasn't just an informative pitch, it was a suggested way she could divide up the field for them. The possibilities were endless in truth- but this was the first structured thing she could think of. It provided a layered defensive landscape, moving to her allies advantage. Openings would allow them to advance or retreat in safety, and separate the enemies numbers or entrap them when necessary for easier pickings. However, stronger she may be- Kyla was only one castor- if there was a way to reinforce her powers to an extended time she was all ears. Perhaps if there was a way to draw out the spell longer or piggy-back it with another one from an outside party?
(( Nyaaa stupid gaia cutting out my response to noelle and prote!- was the last paragraph it sliced it right off WTF?! . fffffk! '' sorry- will edit this if you want!))

"Well, I won't be in the cove during the battle," he responded to Kyla, nodding. "I'll be just behind the lines, probably a bit higher up than most to have a good vantage point of the battle. So we won't be that far from the action, and we'll be in sight of the enemy--hence my need for protection."
As Kyla went on, Kyle felt a bit of anxiety, nervously looking at Noelle. Noelle had asked a question and Kyla had completely moved onward; she probably had misheard, so it was a misunderstanding, but he listened all the same.
"Essentially, Kyla and Sayrike, you'll be our key defensive units," he stated, nodding. "Jenny will be our out-of-sight support, and the rest of us will be offensive unless otherwise required elsewhere. I've already told King Triton the basics about the Geists and how they work, like Noelle said, so the soldiers will all be aware of what to be concerned about."
"However," he began, looking toward Noelle and nodding in approval. "Noelle and Prote have some more specific information on the new kinds of Geists. What've ya got?"

((Weeell Kyle's post made it a part of the RP now, so . . . ONWARD 8D))
[Noelle .:. Prote ~ Atlantica ~ Throne Room ]
Noelle was about to start when Kyla continued past her. She stared at her for a moment before pressing her lips together, making a brief popping noise and lacing her fingers behind her back. Feeling a bit awkward, she waited patiently. Kyla had said something about the Geists that concerned Noelle, so she made a mental note to bring it up first. Back on the Pearl she and Prote conversed extensively about his kind, so it was her job to get everyone caught up. As soon as Kyle gave her an opportunity, the agromancer moved forward and motioned for Prote to stand at the center of their gathered group.
"A few things, but before I get to that I gotta mention something to everyone." She replied to Kyle, moving her hands as she spoke (a habit of hers that came out as soon as she started speaking in front of a group or had to explain something), "Kyla, you said that you were able to fend off the Geists with your pictomancy in Narnia? It may have worked then, but there's a very slim possibility, probably even none at all, that it will work again--that's the way we have to think anyway. All of us. Geists by nature are learning, evolving, and adapting opponents. They probably know everything about us, down to our abilities. See, Geists, at least these ones, have a creator, one that can form them out of several memories or just one alone. She, as Prote has told me, chooses which memories to equip your basic Geist with, and these memories she takes from Geists that have gathered information. So each new generation of Geists receives not just a memory update, but an ability update to make them more efficient and more likely to win. They might know how to counter our old moves . . . this makes them terrifying. Whenever you fight a new Geist, don't expect the same experiences that you've had with them in the past, because chances are they know your abilities better than someone you've fought once or twice, but not only that they're equipped to counter them."
Noelle paused to let that sink in a little and gather her thoughts. She realized that was a bit of a bomb to drop on them but . . . it was important. They couldn't be careless, and that meant no Geist left standing. They couldn't allow a source for the next generation to get by them.
"Alright, umm," the small blonde continued, trying not to get flustered. "Back to the new Geists. There are four new kinds out there on the battlefield. The first are Kinetics." Prote phased and changed his appearance (as he would for each new Geist that Noelle mentioned) to mimic that of the Kinetic Geist he absorbed to show the others what they looked like. "They're not any more powerful than a Tabula Rasa, but have a few quirks. They're long-range types that create projectiles with their own being--arrows, javelins, slingshot, you name it. They can also throw anything at their disposal, rocks or stray weapons, without touching them in a sort of telekinetic way. The good thing about these guys is that they're self sacrificing. We don't have to kill them--as soon as they run out of enough energy and material to exist they cease. Bad thing . . . well, you're going to get shot if you're not careful. They can phase but probably won't, their only purpose and objective is to keep shooting. We might need to take care of these guys first because there's the most of them aside from the Tabula Rasas. The second type we have has a little more variety--Djinn. They're like the Kinetics in that they're not much more powerful then the Tabula Rasa, but they pack a little more punch. They're elemental mage types, and there's three different kinds--Fire, Water, and Thunder. These guys can still phase, but can't shape shift. The third is more dangerous, but there's less of them. Shades don't look like normal Geists, as you can see from Prote here,"
Prote had changed into an amorphous cloud of what looked like black smoke. It billowed in and out menacingly before solidifying into a humanesque figure, though still of the same black nature.
"Shades aren't typical shape-shifters because they only have two possible forms. These Geists can recieve damage from magic at all times, but only when in solid form can we attack them physically. Like I said, Shades are more dangerous because they're crafty and hard to kill. And lastly, the Geists that pose the biggest threat."
Prote changed from the Shade appearance to that of a very dark and sinister figure. It was tall and clothed in black, tattered robes, hunched over, with pale, skeletal arms that clung to a deadly-looking scythe.
"These are Grimms. They're the most advanced Geist on the battlefield. They have incredible stamina and resilience, similar to Prote's but not quite at his level. They can't shape-shift, but they can phase, and much faster than any of the other Geists out there. Avoid their scythes at all cost, the scythe is the most dangerous part about them. If cut by the scythe you can be affected by one of a few . . . well, ailments, I suppose. Prote copied them but he's not sure what they do, and I don't think trying to find out now is a good idea. We'll unfortunately have to leave it to the battlefield. They are fewer than any of the other Geists on the field, but I get the feeling that they’ll outlast most everything out there."
As Noelle finished she took a deep breath and looked around at everyone. It was a little quiet, but expectantly so. She had just thrown a lot of information at them, a lot of very scary information. She herself was terrified of these new Geist types. They were horrifying before, but now . . .
”Are . . . there any questions? Prote or I could answer them.”
((Alright, so here's the simplified form of all of this--please don't skip over the wall of text though [sorry XDD] because there's still important stuff in there.
Kinetics: A simple Geist with basic telekinetic abilities. Kinetics can throw objects around them without making contact with these objects or even create projectiles out of their own matter. As soon as a Kinetic uses up too much of its matter or energy it ceases to exist.
Djinn- A magically inclined Geist. Rather than shape-shifting, Djinn are proficient in elemental magic. There are 3 forms of Djinn- Fire, Water, and Thunder.
Shades- A powerful form of Geist. Rather than existing as a physical shape-shifter, Shades exist as a mass of black energy, capable of solidifying at will. They can be damaged by magic at all times, but can only be damaged physically when they take physical form.
Grimms: A highly powerful form of Geist. They've given up shape-shifting powers in lieu of Death-based magic. These Geists cast all four game-winning status ailments-- (1)Old, (2)Fear, (3)Charm, and (4)Doom. They are tall Geists wrapped in black garbs wielding scythes. Beneath their robes, they are very pale, thin, and sickly creatures. Any contact with the scythe will initiate a status affect decided by random number generation. Discretion is left up to the Role Player. Be responsible, Mary Sueism will not be tolerated.
Also, the latter two have a set look, but the first two don't, so I encourage art ideas and such. ;D))

[Kyla:Atlantica:throne Room]
Figured as much, she thought and made the adjustment to Kyle’s position on the map. It was odd- she could have sworn the lines were a bit bolder then- oh! Kyla blinked the blurriness away from her eyes; for just a moment her eyes snapped open again like she’d dozed off but surely only a few moments had lapsed. Still it was enough- she missed something, someone- Oh snap!
‘Focus Kyla, don’t lose your head. ‘
Noelle!
It took the upmost self control NOT to smack her own head into the spin of her book for spacing out so horribly. Maybe the lack of sleep was affecting her more then she anticipated?
It’s been a while since she had one of those... What did she used to call them? Brain Farts?
“s…sorry Noelle…” she muttered sheepishly, and moved the schematic display adjacent to a fresh page where she began to record everything Noelle and Prote imparted about the Geists. Man she hated Geists- and worst of all it seemed like her shield would be utterly useless anyways- she was just wasting her breath because these things were learning from their mistakes. So what may have worked in the past- won’t be so effective this time around.
‘- heh, like the Borge. They assimilate then advance- ...Laaaame!’
Well there goes one way to affect the playing field. She couldn’t just stand there and try random things-
”Are . . . there any questions? Prote or I could answer them.”
Kyla immediately but sheepishly raised her hand a little before asking as she finished up jotting down the last finishing touches to her updated roster of the Geists. “-Any recommendations for defenses that you can think of? What sort of structures do you think would best benefit us at this point?” Maybe there could be a way to force the Shades to take solid shape more often? Perhaps the Kinetics can be encouraged to use all their fire power so they snuffed themselves out of existence?

[Joe: Atlantica: Throne Room]
The male had only nodded to Kyla's suggestion. Was he agreeing, or just 'responding'? He...wasn't really sure, cause his own mind was racing. It didn't help that soon, Geist discussion came up, and Joe had to give his all to not just leave the room.
He had ended up leaning against a pillar, arms crossed over his chest and breastplate as he watched. Oh, he wasn't watching the proceedings of the tactics meeting, even though he was still managing to keep a faint touch on the subjects, or even on the royals and their own preparations. No, he was watching the floor, his eyes constantly moving back and forth as if reading something only he could see. Of course, he was going over plans of his own action in his head. Moves he could use and adapt them for underwater battle. Strategies, tactics, anything to make himself useful...and not to lose himself to the Geists.
He never wanted that to happen again...he didn't really want to fight, but at the same time...he had pretty much convinced himself that if he didn't, he'd be less than useless.

{Kyle : Atlantica : Throne Room}
Well, this doesn't seem like it's gonna be fun. At all. Not like other fights have been fun either, but, Geists. Not feeling these guys. I wonder if they even have like, a presence sort of thing. Like, would I feel their footsteps on land? Wait, does it even work here? Hmm...I'll have to explore this possibility.
"So, this phasing thing. I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, but I want to clarify. When they do their phasy-thing, magic and weapons will pass through without harming them? For the Grimm-nasties, will that include their scythes? Also, we will be able to block those with weapons without repercussions, right? Like, I'm not going to suddenly get smacked in the face with poison because I blocked?" He didn't like that idea. He really didn't want to meet with the Grimms. Swimming in water and fighting on land were a wee bit different.

[Matthew :-: Atlantica :-: Throne Room]
Matt remained silent as the others talked about the battle; the others knew what was going on better than him anyways, so he was more than certain he wouldn't be able to contribute anything to the conversation. After Kyle informed him about the Geists, he saluted the "War Captain" and quickly went over a list of "cold" attacks in his head. 'I have Aqua Breath, Geyser from Demyx, Ice Spirit from Bobbi...'
'An Arctic Wind and a Zeus' Wrath will make an Ice Bolt,' interjected Matt's summon.
'Oh, thanks... What IS your name exactly?
'Call me Dave.'
'...Really?'
'Roll with it.'

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Seymour ; Yuffie : Atlantica : Throne Room ]
Kyle listened intently to Noelle, trying to take in every bit of detail. He couldn't help but realize how much more in touch she was with the the actual scenario, being so close with Prote. A small, nearly insignificant part of him was infuriated--he should have gotten to know Prote as soon as possible. He was, after all, the best source of information on the least-known enemy type.
He wasn't too worried with watching Prote transform, remembering all the different Geists' appearance from his bit of recon the night before (though it was good to connect skill sets to appearances).
"It sounds like structures won't matter much as far as the Geists are concerned, if they can just phase right through," he said, holding his chin and tapping his lips in thought as he spoke. "Though momentary blockades would still be helpful, and as Noelle said, the more they phase, the less energy they have left. Still, it would probably be more useful to be offensive with them--force them to phase through attacks or take damage."
"From my previous experience, all magic and weapons and pretty much everything will pass harmlessly through them as they phase," Sora spoke up, answering part of Kyle's question. "As for the Grimms, it depends. If the weapons are a part of who they are, they should phase with them; if not, then they'd drop the scythes every time they phased. 'Course, they're new, so... Noelle?"

[Noelle .:. Prote ~ Atlantica ~ Throne Room ]
Noelle glanced at Kyla as she apologized and briefly winked at her. She didn't blame her--the poor girl had been up all night, and it was easy to see on her face. Noelle would have to give her a Ginseng Elixir as well before they moved out. As each person asked her questions, the small blonde looked to them and prepared an answer.
"Well, alone barriers are useless." Noelle said to Kyla, backing up what Kyle was saying, "However, they can be enhanced to put us at an advantage. No matter how much a Geist can adapt to enemy magic they are unable adapt to damage-dealing magic, that's the simplest fact about them. If you can handle it, the barriers can still be done, but they need to be more than just a wall. They need to deal damage at the touch--ice damage. I believe ice is the one thing that can actually affect a Geist while phased, right Prote?"
"Correct," he replied flatly, "The damage ratio is less when we phase, but for lesser Geists that have poor energy management, such at the Kinetics, Dijinn, and possibly even the Shades where a Phase state is their normal state, this is a threat. To Phase through ice, especially repeatedly, can end up being a large drain on the energy system."
"Like I said earlier, agility is key with these guys. Any time they Phase, we need to be there with an ice spell, any time they return we need to be there with an ice spell or an attack. If you're low on mana or energy, come to me for an elixir and keep at it. Our offense needs to be aggressive."
Noelle then looked to Kyle M. and addressed his question, "Yes, Geists always Phase with their natural weapons. Any natural weapon a Geist carries is essentially a part of their being--Prote can demonstrate."
As the agromancer motioned toward him, Prote Phased just his arm. Once returned he carried a sword in his hand of the same white color of his being. After Phasing again it was gone.
"All interactions with these weapons should be like an interaction with a normal weapon. If you block it you're good, if you get hit you're not. In the case of the Grimm's scythe the only part you have to worry about is the blade. One cut is all it takes."

[ Amy : Cove ]
There wasn't much to see; it was rocky and typical. She swam toward where she thought her charm had fallen, but could not find it. She began to grow concerned. If someone else found it, they might be able to use it, and her plan had been to destroy it, not to get it lost.
She swam back and forth along the wall, scratching her head, perplexed, unaware that the charm had been called back by her desire to find it, and was attached securely to the wrist of its oblivious owner.

[Jenny :: Atlantica :: Throne Room]
Jenny processed the information as she tried to make a map in her head with the information and images that everyone provided. She instantly regretted that she possessed no ice magic, no doubt, endlessly bombing that on the battlefield would help greatly. The mage sighed as she shuffled through her repertoire of magic.
.:No use crying over what can't be helped.:.
I wasn't crying about it... just merely, lamenting the fact of how much help it would've been. Jenny retorted before turning her attention back to Noelle. Geists were pretty scary, thank goodness they had Prote on their side or things would've been scarier. She needed to keep those scythes away from as many people as possible. What they were capable of sent shivers down her spine, and her tail twitched involuntarily in response.
Perpetual Haste would be helpful, and Reflect to help with the defenses. Once I get images from the actual battlefield, we'll be able to help with the offensive side as well. Jenny calculated it all in her head as Siren laughed in the background, a toll of bells against the melodies of songs in her head. Yes, your confidence is reassuring and all, but I can't help but get the feeling that you're scoffing at me.
.:Hmm, am I~?:. was the only response.

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Throne Room}
Bobbi nodded along with each piece of information that was offered, and felt her heart rate increase the more they talked about the Geists. Those suckers were freaky enough as-is, but these new forms were terrifying. She glanced over at Joe, and saw him concentrating intently on the floor. The Archer bit her lip, not sure what he was thinking. She and he had been the most affected by the Geists the first time they ran into the creatures in Narnia, but Joe had certainly gotten the worst part of the deal. Bobbi had just had about a week or so taken. Joe had his entire life erased and replaced.
When Noelle mentioned infusing Kyla's Lotus Shield with ice, Bobbi perked up a bit.
Shiva? she asked, though she continued to keep an ear open to the conversation.
~:I know what you're thinking,:~ the Esper replied immediately. ~:The Mirror Wall wouldn't be powerful enough at the range we will be working at to cover more than one person, and even then, it would be weak, nothing more than a shield covering one side. In addition, the amount of mana it would take for you to cast it would deplete you after only a few castings. Save your mana for your arrows; those will be much more effective in the long run.:~
Bobbi nodded; Shiva had confirmed her assumptions.
And I can't share my element with anything defensive, only infuse the weapon, right?
~:Correct.:~
...what if I cast it on her sketchbook? Would that infuse the Ice element in her manifestations? Or am I being stupid and unrealistic?
~:Hm, interesting theory. I... I believe that it would. Not for anything incredibly powerful; most likely just her Birn Strike or her Lotus Wall. Because her book is her weapon, and the Wall is a manifestation from her weapon, the element should transfer.:~
Oh. Sweet!
"Sorry for spacing out there; I promise I was listening. But I was talking to Shiva at the same time to confirm something. Kyla, the Ice Spirit ability I mentioned earlier. I can cast it on your book, and it should work for your weaker spells. Shiva and I think it will work with your Lotus Shield wall thingy. Problem is, I can't handle casting on more than one person right now. I can either Ice up your shields, or give someone else Ice for their attacks. Now, I'm no tactician, but I believe with your shields and how you're able to manipulate them like that--" Bobbi waved her hand to indicate the projection with the shield images roaming the field, "it would be more advantageous to cast Ice Spirit on your book, rather than using it on someone's melee weapon."

Anthony nearly fell overboard when Dawn shouted from behind them (and if he didn't grab onto the railing, he most probably would've). "Dagnabbit, woman!" the young man shouted, gripping at his chest. "You nearly gave me a heart attack."

[Maria ~ Kefka’s Tower ~ Maria’s Study]
With a glass of something peculiar in one hand and the Enchanted Mirror in the other, Maria had been passing her time. She’d decided to sleep in a bit and had only been up for the past hour. During this time she caught up with the goings on of the little people. Her first check in was with the group of Replicas, the majority of which were as sour as usual. From time to time she would make a note in a blank-paged leather bound book--mostly about certain individuals that piqued her interest. Alice was a curious one, quiet and reserved. The only one who was, really. There were a few more gentlemen in the group now as well. Then there was Elleon, who was a tart as usual. She appeared more useful than the majority of them.
Next she looked into the different groups of Earthlings. The group in Shipwreck Cove was relatively boring, there wasn’t much going on. Louis was being secretive and the Earthlings were mulling about. In Atlantica, however, there was quite a commotion over her newest creations. Maria sipped from her glass with a smile, watching Elleon’s original prep the others for what was to come. Prote was starting to prove useful to their group--he was their guide to his kind. It was a little inconvenient, for her anyway, that he could spoil the surprise. But all was well, she’d just make more. The enchantress turned to her book and jotted down a few ideas, pausing as the room grew cold. She knew what that meant.
”Good morning,” Maria called out into the room, not looking up from her book as she started writing again. ”I presume you’ve gathered adequate information--enough for your liking, anyway?”
”They haven’t been very active, much to my dismay.” Prototype I replied from the doorway, ”But my surveillance will be enough. Prototype IX has certainly grown in power.”
”Yes, but there shouldn’t be cause for worry, he has holes in his tactics--always has.”
Prototype I nodded, ”Yes but, while this may be true, he has surprised me before, and with his current company surprises can be expected. Only one of them, however, really knows who he is and how he became. This is convenient for me.”
”See? Nothing to worry about.” Maria mused, finally looking up from her book at the Geist. ”You still need that distraction? I’ve just had the most wonderful idea.”
Prototype I narrowed his eyes and approached, looking at Maria’s book as she held it out for him, ”What exactly is this particular demon?”
Maria shut her book with the fingers of one hand and placed it next to the Enchanted Mirror on her table. Taking another sip from her glass and smiling, she asked, ”Do you know what an oubliette is?”
