Are you going to use your Executioner for anti-tank or anti-infantry?

We just use a normal Tank Commander as Pask.

Pask works best on a Vanquisher. Oh and Mel, if you're facing Orks, go with a heavy bolter, best to try and spit out as much death as possible.

Vanquisher? I say Punisher, re-roll all misses at BS 4, re-roll all penetrations, nothing will survive that, not even other tanks, unless they do have something with armour 14, but fit the punisher with a lascannon on it, should be good enough But why a Vanquisher may I ask?
But I'd say lascannon for the hull, it means you have atleast one anti-tank weapon on and don't have to worry about what you do with the rest of the weapons. After all the plasma cannon on top has enough capability to wipe out orks and anything else that gets in it's way.

The Vanquisher is a dedicated tank-hunter, plus I already have one. And I don't want to sink too many points on my tanks, my army is a mix of lots of men and some tanks. Not that many tanks as it used to sadly due to the rise in point costs.

Walrus, where are you getting that "reroll hits and wounds" business? Is it a part of Pask's rules?

If the tank remains stationary he confers +1 to AP rolls when fighting vehicles and re-roll any failed hits on monstrous creatures. I prefer to put him in a Vanquisher, mostly because my Orkish opponent has no monstrous creatures and is relying heavily on Trukks.

Using a Vanquisher to counter trukks is a bit overkill isn't it? sweatdrop
Not to mention a massive waste of killing power. A trukk is only 35 points while a Vanquisher is 155! You'd need to blow up five trukks to earn back the cost of that one. Now if it were a Battlewagon..

Caleidah Walrus, where are you getting that "reroll hits and wounds" business? Is it a part of Pask's rules? Yeah, though thinking about it, I'm only really assuming the Crack shot rule gives him re-rolls on hits, really I just don't know what it does to be frankly honest mrgreen . Plus the Punisher has 20 shots anyways at strength 6. Pretty sure that would wipe out the trukks and the orks that fell out of it, especially with the fact yer not relying upon one shot here. And if you came across a battle wagon well... Atleast you've got a lascannon on the hull and like ya said Lt.Brookman, it confers a 1+ Ap when sitting stationary . smile

Best application for Pask is Vanquisher, since he gets both crack shot and vanquisher's ap ammo with 2d6 to pentetration... almost guranteed penetration on most tanks. You can customize his tank with sponsons anyway. OTOH Punisher with 20 bs4 shots is evul...

If I am going up against Orcs, I just find that mass gun lines mixed with Heavy Weapons work best. Tanks are great and all but normally takes up so many points which could be put into more heavy weapons and Infantry.

With the new codex I've so far only run with vanilla Russ tanks with heavy bolters, ******** Robin Crudface has made most other patterns and weapon upgrades highly undesirable thanks to the high cost he tacked to them. I am planning on giving both the Punisher and Executioner a whirl but for the most part I'll be keeping them as display models.
I never thought I'd say that, wow.
