Okay let me start by saying this. I am a very straight man, I am in a happy relationship with an awesome chick though it is long distance, and I just happen to get along with chicks more than other guys, most likely a result of being raised solely by my mother.
Okay now that I have stated this I can avoid any misconstruities that might be caused by the following sentence that I must utter somewhere safe.
BOYFRIENDS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright my best friend at the school I go to is a rather attractive woman. In fact it would not be a lie to say that we have found some attraction in each other. This is not to say that we have acted upon baser instincts. In fact we did the opposite of what most people did and talked about it. We came to the conclusion that even if we had the chance to date we wouldn't because we would be risking our friendship. Well we flirt every now an then just for fun, knowing full well nothing will come of it. Actually it has almost turned into a little game we play. Well she has started dating a guy well known for his promiscuous activities with various women and now they have moved in together. He has now graduated and is returning as staff for next year. Because of this he has started to grow an even more inflated ego to the point where she has told him that in order for their relationship to work it has to stay out of the theatre. He has agreed and after recent events I had to tell her that I was quite proud of her for how she has started to handle this relationship. Well monday he said he was going to cook her dinner today. Now this is finals week and she has been particularly busy dealing with landlords, the people moving into our current house who have flooded our space with junk already when their lease hasn't even started, moving into her new boyfriends house, an exboyfriend who still obsesses over her, and finals on top of that including a seventeen page paper. Well he didn't say anything about cooking for her between monday morning and tonight, plus we had a game night at a professor's house, so needless to say she forgot. Well we go from a scene painting final, to a production meeting that her new boyfriend sat in on and irritated the artistic staff for reasons that made little sense later, to a drawing class in which her boyfriend was nowhere in sight. Well after all of this it was about 630 and we were both hungry, she's out of money so I offered to pay. We went and grabbed some fast food. Meanwhile he has made her dinner. We had to be at the game night at 8 to further explain the time crunch. So she goes back to their house and I return home. Well he knew she was eating with me and they got into a fight. It was apparently a pretty bad one in which I was brought up and when I ran into her at the game night she seemed slightly upset about the whole thing. So we agreed to stop flirting and stuff, but that isn't what bothers me. The problem is that he sees me as a threat when I'm not, I'm her gay best friend and she is my Lesbian wine buddy. No matter hat we say though he always sees me as a threat and it seems that he is starting to become really territorial and controlling over her. I'm just afraid that I'm going to loose the only friend down here that I look forward to seeing everyday because of him and his stupid fears.

And the ironic part is that he was constantly cheating on his last girl and he was never bothered by it and the two of us haven't even done anything and he's flipping out. He never actually broke up with his last chick cause he is such a coward. He just let her move out of the house once it was time for her to go to NO last week and kept his relationship a secret from her. I just don't know how I feel about this guy. He's a great technician and up till now I had a deep respect for him most of the time but now I really just don't know.

He sounds like he's serious bad news. I would be very careful... I don;t really know how to help you get him to understand... maybe try talking to the guy privately? I dunno...

My Exs were never that much trouble...
... then again, they were both losers in the eyes of society and were just grateful to have a girlfriend =w=;;;; My current one bluffs and threatens me with cheating on me and I laugh at him. >_>;

I get along a lot better with guys, but I'm hardly a threat. I talk to pretty much anyone, so a lot of the guys I hang out with don't have girlfriends.
I tend to only date swimmers, unless they're very smart in which case being a swimmer is not required, but eh....
I'm no threat, anyway. xD
This guy sounds like a jerk, though.
If I was in your friend's place, I'd tell him to get used to it. No man is going to tell me who I can and can't hang out with.
I could handle a little territorial, I think, but not 'controlling'. Pfft, forget that.
I also don't like clingy...
Oh, and I saw the 'Boyfriends Suck!' thing first, and I couldn't help but recall My and Yata's new game. xD

An important new thread with an important thing is up, and there's still a few things that need working on with the Tournament.
