Kaiori, I can only hope that you enjoyed yourself thoroughly. Not every day that one gets as many chances as yourself to lead a colorful life, must be something to do with living in a favored province. Canada, oh how we adore your British roots.
In the meantime, the Wheel of Time is rad. Certaian amounts lend towards the pagan faith, though the one side in choosing the villain might appear to be a sexist attack. Neither in this case are fact, but rather simply associations. The book is masterfully written, and the reading populace has long awaited the continuation (If not the end) of the series. The book deals with a more mundane world of fantasy, though in this ecase few people are randomly chosen to manipulate The Weave. The Weave is essentially much akin to that of I think Greek mythology, in which all things are accounted for and laid out as a tapestry. These users which are mainly female are capable of altering this slightly, with abilities int he highest regard resembling Bale Fire, which will remove someone from said tapestry completely.
The male Aes Sedai are as mentioned touching the tainted side, the male aspect. They are considered The Dragon, if I remember correctly, and represent destruction. Very few are said to resemble peace and use their power to the greater good,a nd the Aes Sedai order strcitly regiments the use of said magic thorought the known world.
Matt, is simply awesome because of his comic relief aspect. He's got that loveable Rogue nature that lends to his personality, as oppose to Perrin's more serious nature. Perrin is akin to a werewolf of sorts and takes a more placid outlook, though he defends the nature and world as it requires. Matt ont he other hand is more zealous, as his ancestry ties to an ancient kingdom. He cries forth his battle cry and engages, his passion unfettered by the discourse of time.
Truly, the books are long and repetitive. In many instances it seems like you're re-reading ealier books of chapters, but the elements remain intrigueing and thought-provoking. Though not as mainstream as LOTR or Harry Potter, the Wheel of Time series keeps the respectable reader on their toes. It's not amazingly awesome or grounbreaking, and it is in no way at all bad. It's simply a series to have a taste for.
