He chuckled heavily, pulling back to pull the hair from her face, pushing her tresses to the side so he could look into her big flaming eyes. "I promise never to let you be a damsel in distress...unless i want you to be!"

Chuckling he released her to get onto his bike, kicking it into life as he kicked up the kickstand and waited for her to hop on after him. "Your chariot awaits, my dear!" He cried over the low rumbling of the Thunderbird, deep and heavy like a dragon's purr.

((Should we go staight to Rae's house from here, or does she live somewhere other then Latent?))

Raven laughed and stuck her tongue out at the big man, playing the damsel was embarasing no matter who she did it for..

She climbed on the back of the bike, wrapping her arms around him and snuggling into his back. "Away driver!" xd

(( 3nodding The condo is in Latent... I had a really posh apartment in Barton >< before it was overrun by zombies... ))

((A condo ey? Fancy! xd Damn, i missed out on the zombies!! crying ))

He lifted one hand to pat hers as it wrapped around him, before he drove off, merging into traffic effortlessly.

Eventually, after a few wrong turns and a dead end, they finally arrived outside Raven's condo. John kicked the stand down and allowed her to get off the bike, apologising profusely whilst defending his lack of direction to the bitter end. "Sorry Rae, but i still reckon it said ThirtyEight St..." He said before looking over the condo with his hand on his hip. "Wow, you own this place?"

For a guy who lived in a cave that flooded when it rained for three years, this place was the Ritz! xp

"Eh, it is someplace to put my clothes.. and I know that the kids will be safe if they decide to stay here... luckily they like Durem and their uncle's place a lot more! You can put your bike in the garage if you want, I don't think Bren would leave his here when he isn't here..." Raven said with a wink as she move to tap the code into the electronic keypad, the little display giving her a note that made her certain that the house was currently unoccupied.

The door would open with a little click as Rave waited to see if her guest wanted to get his ride under cover for the night.

He shook his head at her flippant remark - she was lucky to have a roof over her head, running hot water, electricity...typical woman, taking things for granted xd

"How often do the kids come here? And who is their uncle? I didn't know you had a brother." He asked, pulling the kickstand up on his bike and wheeling it down the driveway to the garage, awaiting her to open it.

His fractured mind suddenly went into panic mode, the ruined synapses in his brain firing randomly. Who the hell is Bren? Was that her son? How old is he?! He had the sudden, jarring thought that he was being taken for a ride - Raven's husband was off doing something and he was the boy-toy till he came back. No, Rae would never do that...would she?

Storm clouds rose in the distance as John waited for her to open the garage door, cursing his stupid brain for not remembering vital information and wishing he could scrub it clean so he could start fresh...

She pressed the little button just inside the door that opened the garage, the door rolling up to reveal a few simple tables and cupboards, a rack with only the most basic of tools on it, a pair of 12 speed bicycles, and a skateboard painted all in purple with what would look suspiciously like norse runes carved into the deck and around the wheels. If a grown man lived here, he was not really the type to play in the garage or with tools xp

"Evan White... although he is closer to Samantha's brother than mine... since he is actually Hugin's avatar... Munin's brother.. but that tends to confuse the heck out of anyone who doesn't think in terms of demi-gods and avatars." sweatdrop Hell, some days it confused her!

She would look up at the clouds with a scowl as she flicked on the landing light and waited for John to park his bike before closing the garage door again and ushering him in.

"Ah, I see...ah s**t!" He cried as the rain suddenly began to pour, drenching him almost instantly as he shoved the Thunderbird into the garage.

It wasn't that hard to understand. Hono'o used to be Munin. Now Samantha was Munin. Hugin was Munin's brother, therefore Samantha was now Evan's brother. If he wasn't so pissed about getting wet, he'd almost be pleased at himself - family trees were not his strong suit.

He sighed with irritation, almost kicking the kickstand off his bike as he tore his tattered shirt off his body, his thick muscle tense as he ripped off the rest of the strips to toss them into the corner of the next to the bins - he'd deal with it in a moment.

He bunched his hair up and squeezed it out, the water dripping onto the floor as he approached Raven and almost tripped on the skateboard. Kicking it up into his hands, he looked over the runes - they were almost perfect. "This your sons?" He asked wistfully, tracing his right finger over some of the runes. "He knows how to cast runes well..."

"Nope... That is Sam's.." Raven smirked as she crossed her arms over her chest and enjoyed the view... big muscled man, no shirt... skin dewed with rain.. it was a nice view if she did say so! "We aren't sure what Bren can do yet, he has no apparent powers, but at the same time we know he has some serious mojo because he cast one hell of a lost spell when he was still in his cradle... so now my 5 year old twins actually appear to be about 16!"

She frowned thinking back on the incident. "Sam asked him where he learned that magic, stuff that she was sure was lost for all time to all but those who keep secrets like herself.. and he told her that his Grandmother taught it to him! Which is impossible since both of my parents were dead before I ever gained conscious thought, and only the gods know where Knight's parents are.. if he ever even had any." She knew too little about her former love, and it never failed to tick her off! xp

John smiled at the story, nodding a little as if he understood, looking back over the skateboard as he spoke, water dripping from his hair and beard and rolling down his skin, which had began to goosepimple even though he didn't seem to recognise the cold.. "I've heard that children are more in touch with the spiritual world then us adults. Something to do with being newly created from the Ether, so they still have strands left to it...perhaps your mother communicated it to him, trying to get some wisdom into him before his time."

He shrugged, placing the board down on the ground and placing his foot on it, being careful not to put his entire weight upon it as he rolled it to and fro. "...I have no idea how or why, but Amelia, my daughter, seems to be all grown up now...I seem to recall talking to Amber about it, about her anthro genes mixing with my Aesir genes and causing some unknown sideeffects....i think they had powers, but i didn't know that they'd grown up so fast!" His voice grew distant, the pain evident in his heart. "When, when i first saw her i had no idea who she was...she practically spat in my face, even wounded me...I dont know what Adamus looks like..."

He sighed heavily, the roll roll roll of the skateboard heavy around the garage. "...Too much time lost, Rae. Precious time..."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:30 am

"Time is never really lost dear, a moment can last forever in your mind... it is feelings that you have to worry about. I know my pair are not entirely happy with me, and no amount of money will ever fix that... but I'm not really the parenting type, I make for a much better rich aunt." sweatdrop She could be very motherly, most of the men who knew her had figured that out by now... but is was more a wanting to hold and kiss to make it feel better sort of mothering than real parenting... she left the making of rules and setting of boundaries sort of thing up to Evan...although she was fairly sure that he had little to no luck with Bren, and Samantha knew how to take care of herself already!

"Come inside John, I will run you a bath and order in something to eat!" She turned and flicked on the lights, bustling off to find him a towel so he wouldn't drip all over her carpets.

The landing was separated by a set of stairs that led up and another that led down into a basement, and it led directly out onto a little dining room and the kitchen. The place was spotless, and with that slightly empty feeling to it that one either chalked up to being a new home or the house of someone who wasn't home too often!

There was a mud mat for John to stand on right inside the door, and a little coat room that he could toss his shoes into, the door open to show Raven's new little flats along with a large collection of other dainty heels and boots... the woman did like her footwear!

The dining room table had six chairs around it, and a simple silk running in a pale cream with tiny embroidered vines running along the edges, the dark cherry hardwood floors looking spotless and freshly waxed. There were only a few paintings on the walls, all of forests or sea sides.. no people, and only a few birds.

Raven would bustle back in her bare feet with a big fluffy blue towel, coming back from a hall that led past the kitchen into the back of the condo.

He nodded slowly, her words bringing no comfort. He had no memories of his children, only a vauge recollection of what they were like as babies....and even then, he abandoned them before he ever truely got to know them!

Whilst he wouldn't have been the most perfect father - the call for blood was too strong in his heart - he liked to think that he could've passed on a few good life lessons to his kids as they grew up...if he'd been alive or not. But now that oppertunity was gone...maybe. If he could track them down, perhaps sit with them and find out who they were and what they were like...not as a parent, but maybe, like Raven said, like a long lost uncle...

His musings were suddenly distracted by the size of her shoe collection. She definately had too many shoes - he wondered how she could decided on them all when she left the house!

Kicking off his boots and pulling off his pants, he stood there dripping and naked, his arms crossed over his broad chest as he waited dilligently for his towel. When she returned, he accepted it gratefully - "I got Golem guts all over me, sorry, i think its going to ruin the towel" - he muttered as he dried himself, not really seeming to care if she saw him naked - it wasn't like it fazed her any other time before.

Wrapping the towel around himself once he was done, he padded into the condo, looking around him - he liked what he saw. "You have...good taste." He said with a confident nod, the extent of his interior design knowledge now completely and utterly spent.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:14 am

"Don't worry about it." Was all she said about the towel... it wasn't as if she didn't have more xp

She picked up the ruined pants and tossed them into the kitchen sink... they could stay there until later... he would likely want the stuff from the pockets, and they might be salvageable if she sent them to the cleaners, they hadn't looked torn at least.

"Simple, the decorating style is very simple since I mostly live at the stadium anyhow... the bedrooms are a bit more personal... come upstairs, lets get you in a hot bath before you catch cold!" Raven would lead him up the stairs, opening the first door on the right to reveal a room that was almost as spacious as most bedrooms.

The far left corner of the room was taken up with a jacuzzi tub that was likely large enough to hold at least three people comfortably... Rae immediately turned on both taps for that as she waltzed into the room, a torrent of water spilling out of two sets of faucets, making it apparent that although the tub was huge, it wouldn't take too long to fill! The rest of the back wall was taken up by a long marble counter top that was surprisingly bare of cosmetics, only a little hand towel rack and a clever little book shelf took up a bit of space on the edge that almost touched the one side of the tub. Two large glazed windows let in the flickers of distant lightning and the street lamps outside as the rain continued to fall.

The right side of the room was occupied by what looked like a sauna tucked into the back corner just big enough for a couple of body length benches against the wall, and the wide shower with its glass door and dark slate walls, with silver shower heads that stuck out from all three walls as well as the ceiling...that promised to have it's own massaging capabilities if one didn't want to soak in the tub!

In the center of the room was a cube glass fish tank that glowed with soft orange and purple lights, angel fish and cloud fish played in the coral as bubbled drifted lazily up from the base.

The room was meant for relaxing, not just getting clean... it was likely Raven's favorite room the the house, and perhaps even the most lived in if the chase lounge with it's padded pillows and stack of towels at the far end of the huge tub was any indication.

"Wow." John gasped as he walked into the room, one hand still clutching the dirty towel around his waist as he walked around, looking at the books and crouching down to look at the fish, tapping on the glass to see that he left a smudge, surrupticously wiping the smudge off with the cleanest corner of his towel whilst glancing to Rae to make sure she wasn't looking, before standing and checking out the mini-sauna and the elabroate shower.

"...You really like things to be clean, huh?" He joked with a grin as he walked over to the windows, watching the lightening flash through the smoky glass and feeling his blood rush as it did, a small adrenaline spike flowing through his ruined brain - storms always riled him, it was something to do with the energy in the air.

"Or perhaps I just like water more than most fire elementals?" She gave him a cheeky grin as she sat on the edge of the tub, waiting for it to fill up. "Plus I have this thing about lounging in elegance... here I can wash away the stress of a long day at work!" wink

The tub was already almost half full, and likely wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to be ready. She grabbed a clean towel off the lounge and hung it on a little hook right outside the glass door of the shower. "Hop in the shower and get the golem gunk off before you soak! What would you like for dinner? I'll order it while you are in the tub so it will be ready when you get out..."

She needed to find him something to wear as well... he was bigger than Bren, but she thought she would check if the boy still had something from when baggy clothing had been all the rage xp

He approached her and leant down to kiss her cheek, thankful for all her kind hearted hospitality. "You're a gem amongst pebbles, Rae..." He whispered to her before standing upright, using his real finger to trace the curve of her cheek and push a lick of hair from her face. "I dont deserve any of this - so thank you."

He pulled off the towel and padded over to the shower recess, opening the clear glass door and stepping in, shutting it behind him as he was faced with an array of faucets and taps. John regarded them for a moment, before shrugging and turing them all on. Immediantly he was bombarded by water on all sides, the heat steaming out from the top of the glass as his body was veiled by water and steam.

"Honestly Rae, as long as it has meat and bread amd i'm eating with you, i'll be happy!" He called out over the roar of the water. Using his powers always made him hungry - generating and unleashing electricity ate up a buttload of calories! - and even though Raven had healed him a little, he still needed the protien to replace all that torn muscle he'd used beating up the golem. And it was good to have someone to break bread with...he'd missed the company of a real person.

He winced now as he grabbed something pink and not very manly and began to scrub the blood and solidified gunk off his arm, the purple sludge sliding effortlessly down the drains of the shower as he scrubbed his arm clean before working on his chest and stomach. There was something cracked here...there it was. He'd had to go easy on that.

Pressing a stud down on his mechanical arm, he opened the forearm compartment and waved it through the cascading water, watching the accumulated debris fall out in chunks to the floor - these he surrupticiously shoved down the drain with his foot, the chunks thankfully dissolving under the barrage of water. He closed the compartment and scrubbed the exterior of the arm out - tomorrow morning he'd clean it, first thing after his exercises.

Putting the loofah down he began to soak his hair and beard, scrubbing his fingers through it to get the blood and s**t out of it. By the gods he was a messy b*****d when he fought...but then, this shower was exquisite, and he mildly wondered if the tub would be better then this...
