Wow, I didn't know all of that about the third one. Did it get any good reviews from the Japanese?

The top of GI's best seller list.
I now have the sudden urge to go play my roms of the first two. (just got them recently). The top of the list and they don't want to release it here? I think it would do quite well but that is just me.

Well, it is a GBA game, so maybe they think no one will buy a new GBA game? That's kinda the same reason we didn't get EarthBound Zero/ MOTHER. Plus a lot of the game's humor is from a Japanese point of view poking fun at the west. Maybe they think it won't translate.
Ah okay, that all would make sense. I wasn't even thinking of it like that. It makes more sense now that I think about it.

Yea, I just wish they'd put it on the VC. It wouldn't cost much to distribute or translate that way.

what was the story with the 3rd one anyway?
Not sure. I know there are 4 main characters as usual, but as to story, I haven't read. Don't want to spoil it. (Hoping for VC release) I'm thinking of importing it and getting scripts of the internet.
not that, I mean wasnt there balance issues in that game though?

No. That was the first one, EarthBound Zero. The final stages of the game weren't tested for bugs and balance issues, so it's basically an unfair fight the entire final stages of the game. Some enemies can kill a party member with a single shot.
ah so thats the one with the untested part

If not for awhile. I bet at some point the will get it too us. Hell you might even be able to find a translated ROm if that's your thing. But yeah the VC seems to be the easiest way to get it out in america.

If I could find said ROM, I'd play it. But I need to beat EarthBound Zero first, anyway.

Yeah, roms are starting to get harder to find now (believe it or not XD) The last level is that hard on Zero?

You'd think. The enemy encounter rate is also abnormally high.

Yea. In EarthBound, they can deplete all of your HP in a single shot, but your HP rolls to 0, instead of jumping to it like in most RPGs, giving you time to heal. No such luck in EarthBound Zero.

well that just makes things a lot harder... but now that I think about it, a lot of the old Nintendo games are very very hard, especially compared to todays games, but an un tested dungeon is a bit of a handicap

Wow, that really sucks. So if you aren't really really careful you are pretty much screwed. How are you supposed to beat the last boss then?

Some of today's games are a bit too easy. I didn't die once my first time through Wind Waker. I still haven't beat LoZ on NES.
Apparently, it's possible, but EB Zero is the hardest of the 3.
