Seto blinked drowsily and looked to her. "What do you mean?" Had he really been that bad? Yes, he was out of practice, but that comment really wasn't necessary...

"You really think..." Seto forgot about his earlier, petty concern. "Not if Bakura reached them. You think he would let her die?" He, too, shared this feeling with Ayira, however. He sighed, and kissed her back. "I just hope not..."
[Would it be okay to go ahead and skip a couple of hours? Just to morning.]

Seto had woken up fairly early, feeling very sick to his stomach. He had already gotten up and was dressing quickly. "I think someone's coming. It might be Bakura." He said, not sure why he should trust his gut instinct. "Come with me."

Upon arriving at the main doors to the palace, Seto was glad to see that they were just in time. Bakura had arrived, and hopped down from his horse. Seto bit his bottom lip when he saw that Rei wasn't with Bakura. The thief entered the palace, and in the torchlight Seto could see that Bakura was smeared with blood from head to foot. His normal red coat was missing, and his eyes were red-rimmed from crying. Tears had streaked through the blood on his cheeks, but both the tears and the blood had long since dried. Seto didn't know what to say. Luckily, Bakura spoke first. "I couldn't save her. But I did kill him." Bakura said, seeing both the priest and his woman waiting for him, it seemed. He knew he must have looked awful. When he woke up, hours later, he had managed to shove Mariku's body off of him. He had then run to Rei and, well, done whatever an upset spouse would do. He hugged the body and cried and swore and all else. After he had managed to get a grip of himself, he wrapped her body in his red coat and then dug a deep grave for her underneath a tree in the oasis. His voice and manners were calm, but he seemed completely detached from the real world. Nothing, he felt sure, could affect him now.

"Oh...Im so sorry..." Ayira said. She hated when her gut feeling was right. "You should wash..."

Bakura looked down at his hands, spreading his fingers wide. His hands were perhaps the bloodiest part of his body. "He snapped her neck." He said quietly, staring steadily at his hands. He heard a sharp intake of breath from Seto, and he looked up. "Right in front of me. I hadn't been able to do a damned thing, I could only watch..." Bakura suddenly lacked the strength to stand and fell to the ground on his knees. Seto moved forward when he saw Bakura start to wobble, but couldn't get a hold of the thief before he felt. Seto didn't know what to say. He had had to witness his own love, Ayira, to be killed before his eyes by Mariku. But nothing anybody had said to him had been able to help his pain. He didn't attempt to comfort Bakura, knowing that the thief would only reproach him for it.

Walking foward ayira placed her small hand. "Well...She isent in pain anymore...." Ayira dident rember much from after she had died but she rembered it had been calm and there was no pain.

Bakura looked up at Ayira, and was silent for a moment. He got up to his feet stiffly, calm again. His hands trembled still. "I should get my children... Where's the nursery?" Seto shook his head, sighing. "Not like that. They'll be scared of you for the rest of their lives if you walk in drenched in blood. Get cleaned up first." He motioned for Bakura to follow so that he could lead the thief to the bath chamber. Bakura didn't follow.

Ayira took bakura by the arm and gently guided him to the bating area.

Bakura went, unyielding. He had begun to mutter softly to himself. "Gutted him like a fish... got what he deserved..." Seto followed somberly.

Ayira sighed. Once in the bath room she looked to bakura "you do rember how to bathe yourself dont you?"
