"Awe, look at him. Isn't the little guy cute? Are you a ninja little boy?" The ten year old stares blankly at the two female ninja crowding him. He didn't understand them that well but he could guess that they were calling him cute. Cute was... Cute was... Moon colored eyes drift over and up to the poised girl standing close beside them. She seemed to be telling the girls to leave him alone or maybe telling them that they are wrong. Zess couldn't really figure out which it was. Examining her face he understood cute to be Eiji. Many men smiled at her form and many women stared at her. That wasn't the case back home because she often had to dress as a male to avoid being hurt. But here people are more accepting of female combatants, so she can walk around freely. She still conceals her weapons on her form but wears a lot less along with more expensive clothing. It was initially so that when the boy came here he wasn't the only one that had to dress out of the norm, but she seemed to enjoy it a little. Zess looks from his female traveling companion to a male that seemed to be chuckling at the girls. His eyes are closed and his grin is very large. Oni is not cute.

Any that look at him look away quickly. Sometimes the child attributes it to him frowning at them but often times he doesn't see him do anything and eye contact is avoided from others. Then again, his decision to wear his kappa over everything he wears does tend to cause people to murmur about him. While Zess didn't care for his wooden sandals and kappa, some people tended to see it as odd. "Little sweetie," one of the girls asks. Zess can tell she's talking to him because she squirmed pass Eiji and was crouched directly in front of him. Before the child can look at her, the girl is pulled back by someone as a chained sickle flies into the wall to the right of Zess and behind where Eiji had been standing. Eiji is now standing beside one of the girls and gripping the collar of the girl who had almost gotten her head partially removed. "What's your problem," the standing girl asks angrily as she goes to check on her stunned friend.

"If someone was verbally harassing a kid and then quickly went over to them, wouldn't you try to cut their head off? If not then you might as well treat him like any other stranger. He's not your friend. He's not going to call you big sis. Beat it before I make you both tit-less," Oni says cheerfully but with a hint of annoyance in his red eyes. The girl gets her friend to her feet before angrily dragging her away as Oni sighs. He would move over to his sickle in the wall as Eiji would begin to lecture him about how his actions would only hurt Zess and how he was a complete failure. In the meantime Zess would just watch the girls before starting to walk away from the two teens. He doesn't get very far before the two of them are moving along while bickering. The setting is typical of the Academy of Hidden Leaf. Clean and decently advanced for the times. The halls are clear and the only areas for storage are in university classroom style rooms where the teacher is at the forefront of the room. There are chalk boards in each room and the only seating type is 'bench attached to the floor' for all rooms. The desks are the same. There are no breaks in the desks aside from to allow movement down certain paths to the front.

The building is well lit and there are at least two windows in any given room. They seem not to have any alarm systems in place but there always seems to be one person in every area at all times. More than likely the system for security is person to person. His Lord instructed him to go to the Shinobi Academy and see what he could learn. He told Zess to learn about their setup and systems along with measuring their levels. Levels meant their ability to defend this area, the village, or the main Kage building. Their systems and setups pertained to anything that Zess could think of that might benefit his Lord and what his Lord might desire. This facility and village was nothing more than a threat to his Lord and he needed to be sure that he could help to allow his Lord safety or dominance over anything that was not his. As Zess recalls his orders he is also waiting for someone to come and speak to Oni regarding what he had just done. The time it would take before that occurred would help moderately in assessing reaction times for their security system. The group explores the building a while longer before moving into a classroom at the far left side of the Academy building.

Once inside they each would take their seats in the back of the room near the windowed wall. The instructor would introduce himself before saying, "For those new to this village, we do not attack others with sickles out of nowhere. Hopefully everyone can keep that in mind." The man stares at Oni who messes over a few straws on his kappa. He chuckles lightly as the Chuunin at the front continues with class. Zess found this information to be beneficial but not to his liking. He was right about how the security system worked and supposed that one of the spectators informed the staff about the incident. However, he could not judge the reaction time since they did not reprimand Oni in a way that showed someone telling someone else or them punishing him as soon as they are notified. Still, this meant that if the severity was greater then maybe they would stop or punish him immediately. For now that would be a task for later. At this point the Greek needed to be sure he understood the lesson so that he could report back any changes in their curriculum from the last time a member of the Lord's clan infiltrated. The lesson was on the art of substitution; a useful technique to learn.

Zess took mental notes as he observes it performed by classmates. Eventually he is called to the front to show how much he has learned. This was a time that the boy almost dreaded. He waits until Oni and Eiji bolt to their feet. They explain how they should be the ones to show their skill before starting to argue with each other. The child wasn't concerned about performing the skill and was honestly hoping to make sure he had his mental notes correct. But the two of them insisted on drawing unwanted attention. Instead of letting them continue, Zess stands and starts down towards the teacher. His shadows follow, still arguing, until they all reach the center of the room. "Easy now. You two don't need to fight. How about all three of you perform the technique. I will test you by hitting you each over the head with this roll of paper--." As the man speaks, Zess is already painting a vivid image in his mind. The Chuunin seeks to strike him to test him causing Oni and Eiji to act rashly and they are all expelled. Moon colored eyes fall on the ground before he begins performing hand signs, not even waiting for the Chuunin to stop talking.

Before the teacher notices Zess, he drops a kunai towards his foot prior to striking the final seal. The item barely touches the air above his foot and then a cloud of smoke erupts from the child's small form. Zess is soon seen standing behind the teacher's desk and a paper weight be in his place. That show was good enough. He understood the technique and saved himself from disappointing his Lord. He moves towards his seat as Eiji and Oni look at one another. Eiji quickly performs the seals and then waits on the now quiet instructor. Oni does the same but strikes a seal wrong. Eiji is struck by the roll of paper and transported to her seat just as Zess gets to his and leaves a katana in her place. The weapon slowly falls as the sound of the paper roll slapping against the top of Oni's head is heard. The red eyed youth lashing out with his chained sickle only for the teacher to vanish and be replaced with the sword Eiji had used which would now clatter to the ground. The teacher would now be where the sword had been. "Wrong. Again."

This process continues even after class is finished. Zess rests with his head on the desk and a pashmina shawl from Eiji around him as Oni continues to fail. The girl watches the tiny Greek as he rests. He was cute without the bandages covering his face and wearing proper clothes for a child. While those clothes were still covered by his tattered coverings to conceal his choice of weapon, he looked a lot more innocent than he should be viewed as. She couldn't blame those girls for wanting to talk to him. But they only made him uncomfortable and confused him. Those girls didn't have the closest inkling of how little he understood them or their affection. So she tried to shoo them. If she was more bold like Oni then maybe she would have acted more aggressively to make them leave him be. Eiji looks at the annoyed boy trying to snatch the paper roll and then back at Zess. She needed to get stronger. She had to protect him.

The instructor begins his lecture by reviewing the Art of Substitution as Kana sits with their head to the desk. They moan loudly, causing the teacher to pause, before shifting to lay on one side of their face. While the instructor proceeds with the lesson, Kana sets their sights on a girl that had decided to sit beside them today. Boy... or girl...? Girl... or boy...? Noticing the girl blush when catching Kana gazing upon them, the Death Swallower remembers that they are a boy today. "Bashful... aren't you," Kana asks slowly. He talks at a normal volume rather than a whisper so the teacher again stops speaking. The Death Swallower grins and touches a hand to the girl's cheek. She seemed to have turned to face elsewhere--the instructor, but Kana wasn't paying attention to that--so he would turn her back around. "Don't ignore me, Miss Bashful," he says calmly. Removing his hand he would shift his drooping right sleeve until it was laid just as nicely as the other. Continuing to wait for her to respond, he glances at the instructor who seemed to be grumbling but going on with class.

"Only ninja who aspire for nothing need to pay attention to that man. It took him eight tries to become a Chuunin--did you know--and he still barely made it--." The balding man at the front of the room yells for Kana to 'get out', taking the girl's attention away again, but the Death Swallower disregards him. Taking the girl's chin into his grasp, he makes her look at him again. "It's okay to worry. You normally do as you are told so I can understand you looking to him when he makes a fuss. Don't worry. He won't punish you because I'm talking to you. Not because I'm stronger or because I'm clearly smarter..." As the short man at the front goes to leave he catches Kana say, "It's because he knows I know." At this the man turns back around and goes back to instructing. "Sometimes he forgets because he's a forty-nine year old man with early onset Alzheimer's. Right teach'?" Classmates begin to chuckle and whisper as Kana would stand from his seat.

"Anyway, Miss Bashful, class is over for me. If I stay in this room any longer then I might set something on fire." The female would continue watching Kana leave even as the instructor attempts to get her to see that she does have something to learn from his class. The black haired youth stands beside the teacher's desk grinning a little. "Take it easy, teach'. You wouldn't want to have a heart attack or something with that weak heart of yours." The instructor pipes down and reaches into their vest pocket. They pull out a laminated piece of paper and hands it to Kana. "Next time try and focus on your teaching instead of my personal training," Kana whispers, "and things won't end with the class doubting your expertise again, hah." The teen pats the man on the shoulder and begins to walk away. After leaving out someone yells that the teacher's shoulder is on fire which makes Kana chuckle. He couldn't help himself. Still, he wanted to set something bigger on fire. He wanted to watch the flames dance and the smoke fill an area.

He wanted something to burn because it looked nice... very nice. But just when he imagines the magic, a girl crashes into him. Her frame isn't much smaller than his but he manages not to be pushed back from the force of their collision. He looks down at the female now looking up at him. Now which one was this? He stares at her features a while longer before she nervously forces herself off of him. She apologizes, explaining she wasn't paying attention, and then Kana realizes who she is. This was the girl who has the classmate that skates through school. The boy sleeping with the teacher. The teacher that the Death Swallower slips stimulants to. She's normally not so clumsy. Now, had she met this form of Kana before? She starts to say who he must be but Kana interrupts saying, "Kana." She responds showing she remembers meeting him before so Kana thinks on that encounter. "You approached me but said you mistook me for someone else." Nodding she states that she thought he was his sister, Kana. She also mentions how she found it confusing for Kana the brother and Kana the sister twin held the same name.

"I guess when you put it that way anyone can get confused," Kana replies. He talks with the girl casually a few minutes before she starts to explain how well her academics are currently doing. It isn't until she informs Kana about how the male student in her class that was doing so well somehow despite him not being good was beginning to get his just desserts, the Death Swallower frowns. That shouldn't be happening. So long as the female teacher was satisfied she should continue giving him good grades. He waits until the female speaks about having been let out early for a class meet up elsewhere and having to go before they part ways. Now why would this be happening? Setting things on fire would have to wait. For the time being, seeking the source of this occurrence was far more important--well, a little more important. This required a trip across the school that wasn't desired but necessary. Removing some pieces of the wraps across his chest, he would set them on fire with a lighter as he walks. "That old man's lighter is pretty good. Lights this blaze nice." Kana would shake his head as if trying to jar something loose.

He was beginning to use Word Salad and that wasn't going to help him any. Neither was burning the wraps but he was already halfway down a long hall because of it. He would continue setting bits on fire and tossing the tiniest remnant with flames still on it away until coming to the end of one hall. He watches as the female teacher he'd been drugging examines a male student with her eyes that Kana had never met before. A guy with white hair and walking using a cane with a silver skull on the top and flat metal bottom. The boy seems disinterested but that only seems to urge the woman to try harder. When the boy--the teacher calls him Archanam or something--finally gets away from her, she seems to come Kana's way. Disgusted by the woman, he would just walk away from her without any contact. He would not venture around the corner so as not to get caught by the Archanam guy, but would instead go back where he had come from a ways. "In worlds with pencils, schools page drink slime." This situation was not ideal, but it was fixable. Maybe if he could get the woman to get that boy out of her system then she would go back to sleeping with the sorry excuse for a ninja and lose interest in him.

The Death Swallower would think a moment more before turning in the direction where he assumed the female would be by now. As much as he wanted nothing to do with the woman, his male form could lead her to the boy named Archanam. He would lead her out of the school and then have her and the boy meet. Whether he would satisfy her or not, he could wear her out enough for Kana to pump her full of more stimulants than normal so that she would be able to sleep with the male student and still have room to spare if this plan fails.

He told her to act natural. It's only a temporary thing. She would be called Mercy. It was no different from when he gave her her name. She would do as the commander asked because he told her to do as the commander instructed. She would do what he wanted with no complaints. She didn't want to be away from him but those were her orders. Once she would finish then she could once again be by his side. By the side of the man that practically made her. The teen would remove her hands from gripping the sides of her head and look at the girl in the mirror. Her black hair unravels from between her fingers before she touches her face and then her eyes. She looked far different than she did before the doctor got his hands on her. It was surprising what the people of that town were capable of. Ninja arts were far more advanced than any of them had really assumed. While the rest of her squad stayed in that town she journeyed to a place far beyond the wall and far beyond anything they ever knew. Taking a trip through a portal called Docks, she arrived in what many referred to as the village of Hidden Leaf. It is here that she will begin her training and finish the task given to her by the commander.

She begins to touch her chest, waist, and legs to see that they had changed greatly as well. Her stomach was more toned, thicker, and wider. Her chest was a little smaller but not that much so. Her legs were thicker but had less muscle than what she normally had. After analyzing her body a little more she would adjust her white button up and then step out of the wash area. She stares at the figures watching her a moment before moving towards the one with darker hair. "Mercy, he asked me to tell you that your cloak is this scarf--." Before the man can extend the red scarf to her completely she snatches it from him. She wraps it around her neck and then buries her face in it. She inhales deeply and sighs. Shutting her eyes she envisions the man that the scent belonged to. This was most certainly his cloak that he had given to her when she joined his team. Her ruby red eyes fall on the man again as he salutes her. Her eyes narrow before shifting over to the blond female, freckles dotting her face much like Mercy had once held. The female salutes as well then proceeds to exit the small bedroom with her teammate. Mercy listens to their footsteps as they move through the home and then open and close a door. The Majora takes another smell of the scarf before motioning out of the bedroom door the other two had gone out of.

She moves down a long hall until reaching an open space. There is a sofa, a wooden dining chair, and a television set. She ignores each object and instead goes over to the front door. She opens it, tightening the scarf now about her neck, and then watches as the two move a little down the stone path before disappearing. Curious, Mercy steps out of the door, leaving it wide open, and moves to the spot where the two had vanished from. She walks around that area a few minutes before shutting her eyes. She would not be so lucky as to have found a way to return to him as soon as she finished. After all, they didn't entirely trust the wild girl. They must have used the same means that got her here but in miniature form. Instead of going back inside, she would return to the house only to close the door and then head farther down the path. She would eye the trees carefully, looking for any sign that they may sway out of rhythm with the wind. She would watch the people she would come across to see if they looked worried or if their expressions changed from anything to frightened. This land wasn't plagued with the monstrosities from where she originated, but that didn't mean that she shouldn't remain on her toes. She could never relax with a background like hers.

Finally she would arrive at the building known as the Shinobi Academy. It looked nothing like the schools back home. This building was slightly more modern and the roofs seemed to be flat rather than slanted. The outside appears to be constructed using materials far sturdier than wood. Perhaps this was similar to the inner wall where more money was put into comfort and style than practicality. While this might fend against weak threats, even the smallest of her demons could tear the building apart. The closer she drew the more people she could see. Many chatting and laughing like the world were at true peace. While others seemed frantic and annoyed. She didn't grasp the word race but supposed that many from her home would find interest in using that word with so many different types of people around. She had yet to spot anyone resembling anything close to how she looked so she was still quite an oddity. Surely that didn't mean that she was the only one in this entire world? If she knew just how large the world was, she would understand that she hadn't so much as scratched the surface. She would continue to be surprised upon entering the building. Technologies in this world seemed to be quite advanced. One person seemed to sit in a tiny wagon and roll the wheels so he can move around without standing. Then there were these metal cases in the halls. A female that disappeared in a cloud of smoke and only left a block of wood behind. So many strange and interesting things.

Once in class she was taught about the villages and their connections to one another. But she didn't understand something. "Your walls," she would ask, "where are they?" Confused, the female instructor asked her to elaborate. "Where I am from, we keep enemies from entering using walls and gates. For a hundred years the beasts outside could not enter." After stating this the teacher begins to step nearer to her. She can taste the air and it seemed filled with curiosity. She wanted to know more but her words only went so far. The woman would say that they merely cornered themselves with the walls and walls are just as damaging to the ones within as the ones outside. Mercy stares at her, focusing on her eyes, and eventually the female looks away. She looks back only to see the girl's eyes still staring, like that of an animal. She would move on into a few more details about villages before starting to speak about what will be learned in the class. Nothing is really taught and the only homework they are given is to explore the village as many are from elsewhere.

With a new mission from her current commander, she seeks to explore the village. She stands on the roof of a store with people yelling for her to get down and gazes at the land before her. This village was large, but the land within the walls was greater so far. Perhaps if she spanned out more then she might see if the village is larger than she'd thought. She rushes from rooftop to rooftop, glancing at the people below, before noticing a glint of blur masked by a thick cover of trees. This was a forest. She had seen one far grander beyond the walls as those stood stories tall. These trees were large but nothing compared to the Forest of Giant Trees. After reaching as far as she can from high she quickly leaps down to the ground. She tightens the scarf around her neck while smelling it as she creeps into the forest. Her eyes flash from one place to another so fast it's a wonder she doesn't get dizzy. She hears a rustle accompanied by a stick breaking and throws a kunai. She keeps her hand in the belt band behind her, gripping another tool strapped there, while waiting for something to happen. A shriek is heard from a few yards away and then something falls from the trees to the ground.

After about a minute, Mercy sprints towards her target. Once getting close enough to examine it she crouches down and lifts the creature up by the tail. Her ruby red eyes trace the corpse of the squirrel as the others in the trees continue to scurry away. Narrowing her eyes she would set the animal down and look around. She would stand, removing her jacket, and then set it on the ground. She would bend over to grab the deceased squirrel before placing it into her tan jacket. From there she would wrap it up and then set off exploring once again. She felt nothing for killing it aside from acknowledging it as food. A normal person might feel remorse for killing something that could cause them no real harm. Or pride in taking down lunch. Or some form of emotion to show how they felt about what they'd just done. But Mercy revealed nothing as she felt nothing. It was just something that occurred as a result of something she'd done. She'd been forced to see far more gruesome things than that in her life and has had a hand in it too. There was no need to show any feeling when it's not anything new.

The following day Mercy reported in to the instructor as the other students did and completed assignments regarding landmarks and what makes them beneficial to the defense of the village. By the time the next week of class begins they are being trained to utilize the landmarks that they had scouted out. Scaling the Kage building, walking across the lakes and rivers of the village, cloaking movements using decoys, and more. While it was not meant to be perfect but more of a test of people's ability to catch on to things quickly, Mercy took it quite seriously. Often training at home and when not preoccupied with her needs or respecting the agenda of the teacher. She was especially skilled at Tree Climbing as she' performed such a thing in her time back home beyond the wall. She'd only recently used tools to climb trees so she wasn't exactly rusty. "Mercy," the female Jounin calls out. The black haired teen gazes down upon the shrunken form of her teacher a moment before leaping down and pouncing from tree trunk to tree trunk in order to come to rest before her. She stares this woman in the eyes until she tells her to follow. Mercy allows her instincts to heighten a moment before carefully stepping after her.

Since the first day she seemed to hold a great interest in her home. A few days ago, however, she ran out of words to give the teacher to make her understand her. She had grown up in an environment where she had to teach herself. It was only until he saved her that she even began to learn proper speech. "You are a very skilled girl and I think that you can improve on that greatly with a bit more incite on things." She smiles before gesturing to a man with light hair and small eyes. He is introduced simply as Luck and is said to have the same naming issues with him as Mercy has. Her face remain call as she examines him just as he examines her. He's dressed in a suit that's a mixture of an icky brown and a murky green color. his hair is combed back and out of his face aside from a small swirl that dangles between his eyes. He sighs before telling the instructor that he can handle things and then the two are left to stare each other down. While he doesn't have quite the stare that Mercy does, he gazes at things deeply--almost as if he couldn't care less if it made the other person uncomfortable. 'So where do we start?' was the question before everything began to blur together.

The girl had gained much knowledge from Luck and still had more to gain. The same was true with her training as a ninja. Mercy enters into her classroom only to notice a group of instructors near the front. She can feel her hair standing on end and is already aware that trouble is brewing. Her teacher begins to speak to her but she turns and runs before he can. The Jounin chase after her, being mindful not to use techniques to stop her as there are still many students moving through the halls to class. But once she gets outside they let loose with attacks. Weapons are thrown and countered by her. Attacks are launched and a few hit the mark, Despite her timing, one attack hits her and she is unable to use substitution. It should have worked but for some reason it didn't. She tries again but the attack again lands and sends her flying into a tree. She slowly begins to lose consciousness but not before seeing a streak of murky green mixed with icky brown.

Eiji would continue to watch Zess before noticing him slowly opening his eyes. Just when she prepares to speak, he does instead saying, "Food.". Oni hears this at the front of the class and glares at the instructor. He wanted to be done with this task already. The teen tells Eiji to 'go on ahead' and that he'll 'catch up' reluctantly before starting up his hands seals again. The ten year old draws off the pashmina shawl, handing it to Eiji, and then tilts his head to either side. The girl would take the garment carefully and watch the boy crack his neck. After standing, Zess would start heading towards the exit followed by Eiji draping her shawl around her. The small boy comes across the girls from earlier in the hall but they do not approach him. Even though his eyes--seeming innocent and pure to them--gazed at them, they did not even speak a word to the child. Eiji would come to stand beside him as the girls move along down the hall. Oni would watch as his companions walk away before he is struck with the paper yet again. He growls, starting his hand signs again.

"You shouldn't blindly charge in. Take a moment to consider what you are doing wrong and change it. Then you might get closer to performing the technique. If you just keep doing the same signs over and over, assuming you've done it correctly, we'll be stuck here in this classroom practicing all night." The man sighs and taps the paper against their thigh. They then bring their arm up and begins tapping the paper on his shoulder blade. At least this was just as much an unpleasant experience for him as it was for this man. But that wasn't going to make him change how he was going about learning the technique. He had it set in his mind how he would improve his understanding. Whether that be a harder route or not, until he got tired he wasn't going to do any different. Again he repeats the hand signs and again he is struck with the paper. He might reconsider how he deals with the instructor and his tool though.

'What'll it be?' Zess would hear only to continue sitting on the stool silently. "You wouldn't happen to serve satoimo noodles," Eiji would ask while looking around the interior of the small ramen shop. The man would scratch his head. He would then explain that he didn't know what she meant and that he was new to the shop. Before he could try and offer something different, she and Zess would be readying to get up from their seats. Someone would call for them to hold on and soon the curtain that served as the door of the shop would part.

"It's pretty rare for someone to ask for that. I thought I was the only one who ate that stuff. Say kiddo, you mind if we switch? I'll make her some ramen with that stuff." The person behind the counter wouldn't hesitate a moment before stepping out of the way and taking a seat next to Eiji as the gray haired man shuffles along to take his place. "I usually make myself up some of those purple noodles with a little yakisoba sauce and some dried veggies. But what do you want with them, missy?" Zess would watch this man and wonder who he is. If he was at home then this man would be similar to those very old men that told tales of their adventures while serving the Lord. His long beard, thin strands of hair atop his head, and bushy facial hair would remain stiff even as he speaks and moves. He would draw up his pants while listening to Eiji request that he serve two orders of beef ramen but using satoimo noodles. The female would glance at the hungry child beside her before going on to request an order of white rice and steamed pea pods. The old chef nods and then begins to prepare the meal. Eiji would look away from him only to notice how intently Zess is watching him. Was this the first time the child saw someone cooking and he was curious?

No, that wasn't it. The girl observes him a while longer before thinking that Zess must be thinking about that man and who he would be like from their home as he often did with people. "The shop owner plans to retire but he can't stay out of the kitchen. He's amazing but he really shouldn't be overdoing it." The kunoichi would listen to the young man beside her before looking over at him. He would turn red and begin to stumble over his words before finally managing to say, "He's actually my grandfather. I want to be a great Ryouri Nin like he used to be!" The old man would tell him to 'pipe down' and he would fall silent. Cupping his hands and resting them on his lap while looking down. He would glance back up again to gaze at the girl watching his grandfather. She certainly was beautiful to him. Zess's eyes would follow the old man. Only blinking when the man yells at his grandson to be quiet. In a small way he was interested in this man cooking. This was his first time in the village and his first time watching someone prepare food before him. Rarely would he see the food being plated let alone see it prepared. The child would wait patiently for the man to set down the white rice but would not eat it.

He was hungry but he would rather wait for the main dish to be finished. By the time it's done, the young chef is asking Eiji if she's tried takoyaki before. Eiji shakes her head as three bowls are set down in front of each of them. Zess watches the old man until he grunts at him after setting the bowl down, prompting the child to finally look away. The man seems to make his way around the counter and then out of the shop. Moments pass before he returns inside and sits on the other side of the Greek. He pulls the last bowl he'd prepared over to him after scooting the pea pods down the way. "Careful kid, it's hot," the man would say as Zess would prepare to eat his food from his chopsticks. He sets the portion down and watches it carefully. The steam rises up and into the air before disappearing. His eyes follow this for a few minutes before the old man asks, "What's with this kid? Why isn't he wrecking the shop or driving anyone up the wall? And he's listening?" Zess would look over at him a moment before return to watching his food. Eiji would not touch her food until Zess would have taken his first bite.

"I don't understand your question. He does not misbehave. There's no why involved." The old man looks at his grandson and then shakes his head. He explains that the youth of today and the last generation often did things like ignoring people, being rambunctious, and being unnecessarily loud. "He was not taught to misbehave, as you put it." The old man nods in understanding. He was well trained to be a good boy rather than to be like the mass majority of other children. "Misbehaving children do not exist where we are from." Just when the old man readies to speak, the curtain to the shop is flung aside.

"It's about time he let me go. He was talking my ear off the whole time I was working on the technique. Then when I finally do it by changing the signs and striking them in a certain rhythm he tries to take credit for it... Hmn?" Oni would stand inside the shop looking at all the people inside. There was the old man next to an empty seat, Zess beside him, Eiji beside him, and another cook looking guy next to her. Eiji comments how she understands how some children can come out differently from others and glances at Oni out of the corner of her eye. "There something you've got on your mind, Eiji? I wouldn't mind reminding you how lucky you are to be here right now." The girl stands from her seat as does the young man only to make Oni's fingers twitch. "What do you want," Oni would ask as Eiji would say for the young man to 'please stay out of this'. The male would sit as Eiji would step outside followed by Oni who glares at the shop owners grandson. Outside the two bicker a while before coming back inside to see Zess taking a bit of satoimo noodles up in his chopsticks and then slipping them into his mouth. Eiji would take her seat while Oni would just stand behind Eiji and Zess.

"Sign says we're closed kid. Only satoimo noodle fans allowed." The sickle user grumbles but does not leave. "Is he with you two? He's more of a child than that one there is." Again Oni grumbles, his hands twitching. Zess looks back at his male traveling partner before turning back around. He extends his hand out and grabs the rice bowl. He shifts it behind him until feeling the weight of the bowl fade away. He then reaches for a set of chopsticks and does the same. Zess then returns to eating as Oni continues to stare at the two men in the room. "Guess that answers that, huh?" The old man chuckles, slamming his open palm down on the table a few times. The Greek hears the first slam and then watches the old man's hands until he is done. He seemed to be just as loud as any child to Oni, but he wasn't about to say anything. Apparently Zess is fond of the old man, so he won't do anything to him. The other guy is just lucky that he's the man's grandfather or he'd be in a better place right now. "The name's Daichi. And that there is Yoshirou. What are your names?"

"Zess," the child states which makes Oni's face become calmer and Eiji seem a little chipper. She introduces herself after looking from Zess and then returns to eating her food. Oni waits a moment, chewing a bite of food while watching Zess, before introducing himself without a hint of anything in his voice. The old man whistles in surprise. He seems to speak to the Greek when saying how he seems to have an effect on the other two. Not knowing how to respond, the boy just sits staring at Daichi. Meanwhile Yoshirou takes this as a good opportunity to try and talk to Eiji. Only notice Oni standing closer to her now.

"Listen oh righteous son. If you keep trying to get something out of Eiji then I'll have to just take my punishment. I'm really trying right now..." Everyone gets quiet as Oni says that. He eats some rice off of his fork as Yoshirou asks him what he means by that. Eiji tries reasoning with Oni only for him to say, "I said what I meant to say." The air grows thicker and thicker with tension before Zess yawns. Oni and Eiji watch the child before shoveling the rest of their food into their mouths. Zess rubs his eyes a moment before turning in the stool and hopping down. He walks pass Oni who reaches into his pocket. The teen pulls out a small roll of bills and sets them onto the counter without a word along with his dish. Daichi says he's paid too much but the red eyed youth ignores him and just walks away. After setting down her empty bowl and getting up from her seat, Eiji bows and then leaves. The old man sighs heavily turning to the four empty bowls the group left behind. He grumbles about how Yoshirou should have left things alone before shuffling out of the shop and leaving the defeated looking young man to clean up.

Ryu Gekkou
The group left the Academy to get lunch and are headed back. Zess is the child, the main character, and his companions are npcs that connect his character back to the guild I had originally made him for. They connect here too but that's a spoiler. So consider them npcs for now. If you want then maybe Zess and Ryu's son can rp together? Or he might have a fine time rping with Crescendo, my Metaru. Zess is Lawful Good and Crest is Neutral Good. Sorry for all the quotes cause of editing.

Miye would purse her lips before running a finger across them slowly. Her only choice seemed to become no chance at all. Still, that didn't mean that she was completely out of luck. She had other options but they were never tested in this environment or weren't the best option for the future. The only realistic options had downsides for her either way she went. She could use the Art of Worlds in order to get out of class. In doing so she could cloak her leaving class and get out of public speaking. But there could be someone present that could see through her illusion. Or the fact that the instructor should be stronger than her would prevent it from working on the person it is most meant to. Then there's the issue of what would come of her after returning to class after such a trick. She could be punished or worse still, she would still have to introduce herself. She would continue running her index and middle finger over her mouth while figuring unceasingly. In the background she could hear the teacher moving forward with the lecture. She would be finished with that section before long, have Miye introduce herself, and then return to the class schedule. The teen needed to work things out before that time.

"In order to sustain the transfer you must have molded your chakra as expressed. In doing so," the teacher would say as Miye would finalize her plan. There was an extremely high percentage of failure, but this was something important for her. She detested public speaking and if she could then she would seek any means to get out of it. The Ichazuki would whisper to a classmate to give her two sheets of paper and the girl would. These sheets would be completely white and were used by the female in order to sketch on. It was the perfect type of paper for her plan. Running one hand along the girls other and taking the sheets with another, Miye would smile and give a warm 'thank you'. The girl would stutter out something in response as the Ichazuki would return to her previous position observing the teacher. Setting the paper on the desk she would get to work. The first sheet she would fold in half and then in half again. She would fold the bottom and then unfold the last two folds she did. She would be left with what appeared to be a booklet. The teacher would recognize the method as being one to create a Cornell Notes structure without the effort of drawing the lines.

Just when the girl would ready to alter the design to create a paper airplane, a girl enters into the room. In less than an instant she analyzed her posture and devised an even better plan. This female seemed on edge. As if she would react to the slightest sign of danger. She was perfect for a distraction. It was just a matter of if the Ichazuki could manage to use a clan technique that she hadn't quite mastered before heading into the academy. Her goldenrod eyes would shift about weakly a moment before she would notice the girl that had entered turn and run away. Success! The instructor would notice this and call out to the girl only for her to not return. "Self study," the teacher blurts out before rushing out of the door after the dark haired female. Miye was once again safe from introducing herself formally to the class. She sighs heavily, touching her head with one hand, before somehow finding herself looking at the boy that she'd seen at the front of the room. Only this time he would be staring straight back at her. Did he know she had used Art of Reality to trick that girl and save herself from class introductions? Of course not but it was a thought that came to the Ichazuki's mind. The teen would place one hand on the desk before getting to his feet. He would make his way towards her, making certain not to look away.

"I'm not entirely certain how things shifted like this." Miye would be sitting at the counter of a ramen shop looking over the male student from before sitting beside her. The instructor eventually returned and ended class extremely early just when the boy was close to approaching Miye. Despite this, he managed to find her in the hall and ask her if she could see him. And eventually they wound up at this unpopular ramen shop in Hidden Leaf. "A ghost--not a Descartes--who has nothing keeping him from passing on and who cannot be seen with the naked eye. Is that accurate?" The teenage boy would grunt out a 'yes' before looking at her. "And I guess it wouldn't be wrong to assume that no one can sense you in any other way as well, correct," the girl asks as the young man cooking up the ramen glances at her warily. The Ichazuki notices this an smiles timidly at him. He flushes red quickly and centers his attention on cooking a ramen dish that would be getting taken to a distant customer.

"It'd be better to call me a spirit. I'm not composed of chakra. I don't even think I can do anything beyond just exist. Sensing me would be near impossible unless honing in on me and not chakra itself. A Inuzuka would know that I'm here, but an average Hyuuga wouldn't. At least that's what I think. Which pisses me off because I was in the middle of a fight when I was flung into this state. Couldn't even take revenge on the guys that killed me." The two of them fall silent a moment before Miye sighs. She places her elbows onto the table and rests her head in her hands. She stares at the pot boiling on the stow behind the counter as she runs the tips of her pinkies across the tops of her cheeks; her other fingers resting on the sides of her face by the tips aside from the thumbs which are laying against her skin. She presses her lips out slowly while her goldenrod eyes focus on the bubbles beginning to rise in the pot. What was there to say to this? She could go along with this boy, seeing as no one really could see him, but his words were absurd. She'd be better off attributing it to exhausting her mind by using a technique she hadn't mastered from her clan.

She was actually fortunate that she was conscious let alone mentally stable after such a feat. Then again... "Could he be a Ichazuki like me? If he used the Art of Eradication... But then, he would know what happened to him. He wouldn't be telling me any of this either. Any who use the art cannot be remembered. Unless..." She hears the chef approach and suddenly notices the suds seeking to pool over the sides of the cooking dish. She observes the chef shift the container over to a cooling plate to cool. The bubble recede and soon the young man is off to the next pot to remove from the fire. "So I'm the only one that can see you? Does that mean you have no reason to leave my side until you can pass on--?"

"I don't care about passing on. I'd rather stay here, just like this, if it means not passing on. But being on my own is annoying. I can't tell if I'm real on my own. So I won't ask to travel with you. I'll follow you. You can tell me to leave you alone but I won't. I'm doing all of this for my own mental well-being, not because this is some stupid love story between a starry eyed girl and a ghost," the teenage boy quickly replies. He doesn't look at her and just sits there staring at a mark on the counter. The Ichazuki sighs delicately. It didn't matter to her. At the moment, she couldn't see any point in having him beside her. So whether he was completely under her thumb or not wasn't important. Perhaps, should he show promise and her mind having had a brief rest, she would seek to control him like the others. For now she only cared... Miye's eyes seem to fall to the floor, noticing a glint of green when she began to look at the boy sitting beside her. The spirit seems not to notice her as she shift out of her seat. She places a finger to her lips a moment before dropping into a crouch.

Her hair and shirt drift up as she places both hands between her legs. This prevents the front of her frocks from flying up too high. She reaches one hand out and grabs the candy, tossing her hair with her other. Her hair comes to rest as she stands and examines the spherical object. She could just imagine the things this treat could tell her as it looked different from a lot of candies she'd seen in this region, but her mind wouldn't be able to hold if she used another clan technique. She opens up her bag and slips the sucker into it, before taking a seat again. Once her food arrives and she eats it, Miye pays the gentleman that served her and heads home. Even as she entered her room in the school's female dormitory, her 'shadow' seemed to follow close behind her. Observing as she exchanged small talk with her roommate and finally disappearing from the room when the young blonde went to bed. Even after she got dressed to head to school for the day, he would eventually come to walk along behind her as she travels along the paved path to the Women's Academy of Finer Learning.

Once in class the instructor calmly explains what happened yesterday and informs everyone that the student has been expelled. Honestly, Miye felt guilty about how she'd effected the girl student. And yet, because of what happened, the teacher did not call for her to introduce herself. Though conflicted, the teenage girl had her studies to focus on. If she was going to get stronger to expand her range of influence, she would have to start with excelling in her educational pursuits. She would work diligently until the final bell to end class and then would be free to dwell on what she'd done. Despite her believing that, a number of her peers seem to approach her. One asks if she's busy as another asks if she'd like to go to a cafe to study. "A cafe? Are you girls really ninja's? Who studies their ninja training at a freaking cafe?" Miye ignores him and agrees to accompany her classmates to Joseph's Coffee and Restaurant for a parfait. She absolutely could not pass up an opportunity to have something sweet. She could imagine it now if her spirit companion weren't groaning.

The girls leave the building and head to the fountain at the front of the school so that the group of four could become a group of six. Everything goes smoothly until after the sixth girl to the group arrives. She greets the other students as Miye notices the girl that she'd used to get out of introducing herself yesterday and an adult male. For her to up and moving after all of that chakra and energy she exerted, she had to have a strong will. When noticing the female begin to approach her menacingly, she seems to invoke the Art of Worlds to halt her. If she was anything like she was before still then her reaction would be slightly more intense than her average target. She would allow for her presence to disappear from the senses of anyone aside from the girl for the time being. She would raise one foot and rest it on the fountain, drawing out a portion of a remote from her pocket, before lifting her other leg up to stand firmly on the fountain. The girls that had been chatting stop talking and make a line to block the angry female from reaching her. She then stands atop the fountain and allows her presence to fully disappear, even from the spirit she hoped. She would move to a place down the path and stand there.

She would slip her hands behind her back and cup them very loosely. She smiles while watching the girl seeming to speak with the phantom of herself. It would take a few phrases before the dark haired girl would turn and start heading in Miye's direction. The Ichazuki would pivot on her left foot so that the girl could get pass her and then would twirl to fall behind her. The red eyed teen would seem startled by the phantom Miye appearing directly in her path and would leap back. The manipulative girl would break the illusion the female's form would come in contact with Miye's. After bumping into her, Miye would notice the female proceed to force her arm backward to try and strike her. Fortunately, the gentleman that had been with her would finally notice she'd stopped and notice and stop her strike, while in the illusion he seemed to have noticed and turned back. Though a touch surprised in reality, Miye over-dramatizes things and collapses. The man would take the girl away as Miye's classmates would rush to her sight, seeing if she's all right. Miye expresses her condition as fine and tells them all not to worry. She then looks at the female with a small grin as her spirit companion would motion over to her asking, "Having fun?"

⊱⊱⊱⊱⊱⊱⊱⊱━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⊰⊰⊰⊰⊰⊰⊰⊰

☁~☁~ Hah, hah. Hah. ~☁ Black and then a blurry scene. Black and then a blurry scene again. Each time the ground covered in lush grass grows farther and farther away. Black and then a scene. What looks to be a large foot is seen crashing down on a tall tree. The view shifts as Mercy lifts her head up to stare at a single eye looking wildly at her. She's barely as tall as the width of this eye. She notices her reflection in the eye and can't look away. She could see her fiery red hair that stretched almost beyond her ankles, her wide open eyes of an Irish green, her freckles dotting her face, and her bloody deer pelt concealing her bare form from view. She looks down at the hand wrapped around her, constricting her. She had no weapons. She had no idea how she'd been caught. All she knew was that she was sure to die. Anyone caught in the clutches of them will die, that is certain. The monster would have a grin on its face stretching from ear to ear. Its eyes would not change and would continue to stare at her with crossed eyes. It's mouth would slowly begin opening, a hot steam flowing out and burning the girl's face.

She wasn't ready to die yet. She had so much to learn still. She wanted to experience so many things. He was waiting for her to complete her mission. The behemoths mouth would gape open a moment before it would slowly bring its hand towards it and Mercy along with. She would watch as saliva would drip and slide throughout the open mouth and how much more clearly she could see down its throat the nearer she drew. Within the walls people sought freedom. The power to be able to defeat the beasts called titans and to reclaim the land that rightly belonged to them. They tempted fate daily by opening and closing their gates and sending people to their deaths. Many knew not of the terror of their presence. They didn't know how it felt to live outside of their comfortable walls and not be able to return. They'd never even seen one catch a human and devour it. As Mercy would be drawn almost into its mouth she would grin despite shaking violently. And yet she was just as much a fool. Even as she was about to die--possibly from being biting in two or swallowed whole and eroded by stomach acid--she couldn't help but think how good it was that it wasn't him.

Humans were fools; such fools. She would be rested on the tongue of the titan and once free she would attempt to climb back out. Only for the mouth to quickly shut, cutting off her forearms and head. Blood would spray out as everything would slowly fade to black; her head rolling through the air headed for the ground.

Bolting up and gasping for air, Mercy would grab around at anything her flailing hands could reach. "Calm down. Mercy, calm down! It was just a nightmare." She would grab around at her form until finding her red scarf. She would grip it tightly and press it to her nose. She would inhale and exhale quickly a few times before rolling out of bed and onto her feet. At the foot of the bed would be Luck, sitting casually in a silver, knotted chair. Smoke would flow from his lips and into the air as the Majora would look about swiftly. "You're safe. After your episode, I brought you here to the infirmary."

"Episode? What is an episode? Where are the people that were chasing me," the teen asks in a murmur through the scarf as she continues looking around. This place has the look of a medical area. There were beds and multiple places to store medical supplies and equipment. While the beds do have pillows and silk sheets, the seating is knotted chairs of gold, and even the cabinets are made of some expensive looking wood and golden accents; this looks like an infirmary. Luck had taught her of the infirmary, in case she got sick, but this is the first time she has been inside. Luck taps the end of his cigarette into a nearby ashtray before placing it into his mouth. He takes a drag and then explains what he means by an episode. He informs Mercy that she arrived in class and suddenly ran out. She proceeded running until outside and then seemed to perform the art of substitution multiple times. As well, she seemed to be fighting imaginary people. She then ended up running backwards and then jumping into a tree and knocking herself unconscious. Had that really happened?

"Whether you know all this or not, you aren't allowed to return to class for the time being." When he catches the girl's glare he shrugs his shoulders. "This school is supposed to be high class. They take great pride in being an exceptional all girl's school. Sure they may invite the occasional male instructor in now and then but they don't compromise on being a school for proper young women. You flipping out, and in the open too, wasn't something they were comfortable with. Even if no one else really saw you but those from the school and myself." Mercy nods bitterly before frowning. She could have sworn that she was being pursued by people. For her to have lost control of her mind out of nowhere... it just didn't make sense. The Majora would sit back down on the bed only to notice Luck getting to his feet. "I'd better go. I've got things to do and I can't do 'em here. Get some rest and I'll train you for the time being." Once he leaves, shutting the door behind him, Mercy lays back down on the bed. She would relax but she wouldn't sleep. That was a milder nightmare than normal but they would only get worse here on. She would have to stay awake until completing her mission. The only time she could sleep soundly was in the vicinity of him anyway.

Mercy spent the rest of that day resting and much of the next until Luck finally returned to visit her. "Barking at the nurses isn't lady-like. You do want to get back in school, don't ya?" Mercy just stares at him. The nurses seem to have told him about the time she hissed at them and told them not to come ear her. She needed no aid and was fine, so that was a suitable response. Even he would have done the same but mostly with a stern look and a bark of orders. But Luck seems unlike him and Mercy. He is far more calm and levelheaded. "You've had enough time to rest. Let's head into town for a bit. I need to take care of somethin' and then we can train somewhere." Without a moment of hesitation, the Majora tosses the sheets from over her and shifts out of bed. Luck stands where he is, watching her, before turning around and heading for the exit. As they make their way out of the building, Mercy begins looking around at the buildings. Unlike many village, this one seemed to have many buildings at or above five floors. They are made of brick and a shiny, slick material for the outsides. The roads are paved in a type of stone that makes them really bumpy.

But because the stones are of a smaller size, the bumps aren't too harsh. There's a fountain at the front and surrounding it are a number of female students. One in particular seems to watch her with a smirk on her face. Mercy halts in movement and watches this girl. It takes a moment before Luck realizes that she's stopped and turns around. She hears him ask if something is wrong but she ignores him. She motions nearer to this girl only for the crowd of girls to form a line blocking her path. The female with golden blonde hair and goldenrod eyes stands on the fountain so that she can be seen clearly for the Majora. Luck seems to take a step towards Mercy but suddenly appears to halt in motion. "Thank you for your aid in class the other day. I almost thought you wouldn't help me. Fortunately you seemed to open your mind up just enough for me to get in when you saw my face. Why is that?" The girl's lips didn't seem to move despite her speaking, but Mercy knew she was. "You already know I did something, so I'm explaining myself. And I'm telling you to forget all about it. In exchange, I can get you back into class."

"No. Stay away from me and it won't matter." The Majora would take a moment before stating, "I don't have time for distractions." She would turn and leave only for the girl to be in front of her--right in front of her. The Majora takes a leap back only to feel someone touching her from behind. She would reel back an arm but stop just as things go back to normal. Someone would exclaim the name Miye as the blonde from before would fall to the ground behind Mercy. Luck would be holding the arm she was going to fling back as the female would glance behind her at the collapsed girl. Luck would quickly lead her away as the swarm of females from before collect around the female known as Miye as she sits on the ground. Mercy notices her smile cheerfully at the other girl's reassuring just before a tree blocks her view. She then turns ahead of her to observe Luck who is still holding onto her and rushing away.

"I do not attack unless provoked," Mercy states as Luck sighs heavily. He runs the back of his hand against the front of his suits while pulling the cigarette from his mouth with his free hand. He asks the Majora to explain what happened in that case but she shakes her head 'no'. "What do I do now?" Reluctantly, the man explains that he will still train her but she will need to learn more self control. Normally she would ask what that meant but because she nods to him, he can assume she's heard this before. He asked her to start by telling him about herself. To answer questions like who she is and where she's from in an effort to get her to show him why she seems to be getting into so many situations. He watches as her face becomes strain but she eventually responds to him saying, "I'm not sure that you will understand... but I will tell you what I can if it means that I can continue to learn." As she would speak briefly about her past, her mind would reveal the true events while going back further to remember why she was so intent upon completing her mission, no matter what it took.

A cool wind blows through the tall, thick grass of a deserted town. The buildings are reduced rubble, mere remnants of what may have been homes or business buildings. The environment seemed to take advantage of the desolate region, overtaking manmade structures and masking them as ruins in a small plain. Trees that had been planted seemed to slowly resemble their ancestors in the distance forests to the south. A red deer hart gives a deep below in the distance, causing a number of females of the same breed to lift their heads. Some lurking inside of structures overrun with grass and fruit trees while other gaze in the open. As they stamp their feet in response, one seems to give a call back. The females then cease their movement and seem to wait for something. The sun is obscured by a cloud drifting over the area and then finally peek out again. The females seems to be spooked by something and scatter quickly. A figure is then seen creeping into the area, concealed by what seemed to be a fresh deer belt. The form comes to rest in the corner of one of the building remains and hides in the shadow cast by the location of the sun.

The figure waits carefully, unmoving, until all of the deer have gone. Then they lay completely flat on the ground, one head pressed firmly against the dirt. A small pool of water that had collected from a light rain the day before seems to ripple, as if the ground had shaken. The form maintains stillness and does not make a sound as the ripple gradually seem to form faster. A final breath is drawn in by the figure, the ground quaking a final time, and a low groan coming from the opposite direction the deer had traveled. Another cloud moves in front of the sun before the quaking picks up again, only it is mere seconds apart. It grows more intense and the sound of stomping even rings through the abandoned village before a massive foot comes crashing down right in the areas center. The form that had entered the village continues to not move, make noise, or breathe as a gigantic humanoid creatures begins looking around dazed at the rubble. It groans a few times, sweeping its arms out over anything within its reach and slowly taking steps towards any building that seemed to have a structure good for hiding. It seems to move carefully when it notices the building the figure had dove into.

The pelt shakes as the beast seems to lower itself enough to lean closer to the piece of building. It moans before it notices something approaching from the distance. It gives a small grunt before standing straight up and stomping slowly in the direction its eyes seemed to affix. Two individuals, seemingly on horseback, seem to be changing course and heading straight for the behemoth. The person hiding in the shadows quickly gets to their feet and begins to run when the bare, human-like creature draws far enough out. They look back only once with Irish green eyes as the men that had been charging towards the 10 meter tall being begin to engage it. Firing out projectiles from their waists to latch onto the giant and gain flight. They swing around him a few moments before the one within the deer pelt turns back around. They keep their ears open, waiting anxiously for the massive thud that would signal the monster being taken down. She gets a few yards away before hearing a thud, but not one she had hoped for. It was the same as when the beast had approached, meaning the ones that tried to kill it had been killed. Fortunately, it was enough enough away that it did not catch the scent of the form within the pelt and seemed to venture farther East.

Once reaching a stream with a clear few of the Forest of Giant Trees, the pelt is removed and a small girl appears to be the one that had been beneath it. Her red hair, the color of fire, clung to her from sweat and the blood of the recently skinned deer as she stands near the water. She wasn't out in the open, there was a decent cover of trees and shrubbery around to mask her. And seeing as this was an area frequented by the men on horseback, she felt safest stopping here. Though her hair is wild and covering much of her naked body, she looks to be about ten years old. She looks around at all the blood covering her body before drawing nearer to the water. She examines her blood coated face a moment before crouching down. She eventually leans forward and tumbles into the water, sinking beneath its surface slowly. Her eyes stare up through the reddening water at the sky littered with small clouds. She continues gazing until a clouds covers the sun again. She shuts her eyes and then releases a bit of held breath. She begins to swim up to the surface when noticing the wind isn't moving through the trees.

She just barely breaks the surface of the water, the tip of her nose and a few floating bunches of air drifting onto the surface of the liquid, before she drops back down again. She goes as close to the rocks lining the bottom of the shallowest part of the river before becoming very still. She waits until noticing the trees move again before seeking the surface of the water again. Not wasting a spec of time, she would get to the surface, exit the water, and replace her pelt. She would then move on from the stream and towards the North where she had just come from but a facing more West. She would continue running at a steady pace before she would reach another abandoned village. Her eyes would slide across the landscape, attempting to identify any unique things in the environment only to find none. She motions over to a rock shaped strangely like a human skull and crouches down. She seems to sniff the air around it before picking the object up. She hugs it close to her before grabbing and pulling away a few layers of fabric, straw, and animal hide to reveal a door on the ground. She would undo a number of latches before gaining entry and would descend down into the hole.

Closing the door behind her while looking at the darkening sky, she would continue along in the dark until hearing a whistling noise. The child would stop walking and sit down on the cold ground, appearing to have reached her destination. She would remain in the dark for hours, waiting perhaps for the sun to be high in the sky again. She would not rest or close her eyes. She didn't want to let her guard down and be killed somehow in her sleep.

The girl is seen again in a red deer male pelt this time around. She has clearly matured and looks to be about thirteen years old. She emerges from a small forest to arrive at the remains of the village she had used to hide from the giant almost three years ago now. As per her routine, she came here in search of any traces of foods that weren't perishable to take back with her. Only this time she happened to see a large group of people on horseback racing towards the direction of the Forest of Giant Trees to the south. She wondered why they were so intent to be killed by the demons out here, beyond that huge cage they disappear into time and time again. Her body stiffens as she watches two of the distant forms heading in her direction. She ducks behind a section of stone wall and waits as the two make their way over to the area. "I thought I saw someone. Should we search," the stockier of the men asks. The horse they are riding whines, stomping its foot a few times, before the reigns are pulled and it settles. The accompanying man seems to frown and shake his head. As they speak, the girl has her ear to the ground and can hear the approach of one of the huge monsters that prowls beyond the wall.

She wanted to just run, but they were too close to her. She would either end up seeing them get killed up close or be killed along with them. So, as it seemed the best course of action, she would leap from hiding and give a roar akin to a red deer male. The horses would become startled--bucking and neighing loudly--as do their riders. A few grunts escape the girl before she notices a glint coming off of the two. The shiny object in the hand of the frailer looking of the men sweeps out, aiming to cut into the girl. She evades, leaning backward as she leaps. She twists in the air as she backflips and then falls into a crouch a few feet away. The quakes grow stronger and soon the two men hear it too.
"Ee~eah," the girl grunts, gesturing towards the other horse riders riding South. The men seem not to understand but soon notice something approaching from the distance. A creature about 15 meters tall would appear to stand staring at them. Their mouth gaping, eyes narrowed menacingly, and nose seeming to have been smashed flat on its face. The female shakes her head beneath the pelt and begins running off.

She can hear the men saying they will take it down and then get to her but she can already tell what will happen next. Her body would grow heavy, her legs slowing, as she hears a serous of cries. She wouldn't outrun the beast. So why was she so willing to run off? Her body stops and then whips around just as one of the men is fling towards her and skids to a halt at her feet. She stares down at him--his head covered in fresh blood and his eyes staring like mad all around. The girl steps over his, reaching down and taking a blade from the holster on the males waist. The stockier fellow seems to have been defeated as well, having crashed into his stead that was attempting to run. The behemoth seems not to take notice of the female straight away but when it notices her beginning to drag one of the men towards the horse that had finally gotten to its feet to run, it grunts and turns towards her. It slowly takes a step in her direction as she lays the frailer man onto the horses back after making cooing sounds to the creature to keep it from fleeing just yet. She slaps the end of the stead after pacing the stockier man on its back as well and the brown horse rushes away.

The girl clutches the blade she had taken off of the man and turns to face the thing she'd spent her whole life running from. It watches her, giving a confused, deep moan. When her head raises enough for it to see her face it raises one hand very high into the air. At the same time it would take its other hand and reach out to her. She would turn and begin running to the side and away from the direction the horse would be running as the hand chases her. The other hand, forming a fist now, would rush towards the ground aimed a little in front of her. She would dart off in a new direction, moving much faster than before, and just barely miss being smashed by the fist. But she would not evade the shockwave that burst forth from the force of the massive fist connecting with the earth. She gasps as the air rushes out of her lungs and she is sent flying into the ground nearly four yards away. Not having been sent farther because she used the blade and all her strength to dig into the ground to slow herself down. Unfortunately, the blade flies from her grasps and impales itself into a tree a few yards farther from where she came to rest. She seems motionless and doesn't breathe for a full minute before her lungs begin working again and she sucks in air quickly.

She coughs to force her lungs to release the air out again before forcing her body to shift her onto all fours and then try to get up. Only she stands to see a fist flying towards her directly. She wouldn't be able to dodge it now, her legs had been damaged from the collision with the ground and she was barely able to stand. Everything is blurry as well, so she can't even tell how far off the fist is. She does, however, manage to see a glint before a spray of blood flies from the back of the giants neck. Somehow her body feels relaxed and she falls to her knees on the ground. The fist continues forward but soon everything goes black and then she is staring at the ground that had been beneath her whizz by. She lifts her head slowly to see someone looking at her out of the corner of her eye. Her eyelids feel heavy as she tries not to lose consciousness. The ground stops moving and then she is dropped into the back of a wagon. She lays there a few seconds before she throws her head back and gets into an upright position as she rests on her knees in the vehicle. Her green eyes dart about until falling on the form that had been carrying her before.

His cold eyes meet hers a moment before they drift away and fall on the path before them. it was the group of riders from before, they seemed to have changed course and are heading back in the direction that lead to their cage. The girl again looks to the one that had placed her in the wagon before looking back at where she had been. The monster form before seeming to emit a large amount of steam as its body begins to break apart. Even from the miles away that they were, she could see it clearly. She turns back to the figure and scoots closer to him as he continues to ride on a horse alongside her. She hears someone say 'Rivaille' and him look at them, taking this to be what he is called. She thinks on the word a few moments, before beginning to look back at where she had just been. Had he saved her? Where did they intend to take her? Why did her instinct tell her to stay in the wagon?

"What's your motivation then? You're on edge because you were often threatened by the enemies of your region. But why are you here? If the reason is good enough then shouldn't you be able to get beyond your fear of your village bad guys and focus on school?" Mercy seems to watch a bird as it comes to rest on the top of the swings where Mercy is seating. She kicks her legs back and forth, trying to get it to move like Luck seemed to. His legs moving opposite of the direction he moves a second before the swing moves in new direction. There had been other ninja around, from the normal academy connected to this playground, but they'd since gone home. they streets are darkening now and it won't be long before the sun would set. The Majora would grip the scarf around her neck and bring it to her nose. She tried her best because he meant so much to her. After that point he came to be someone that she trusted her life to and would gladly follow to Hell if that was what he wanted. How she got to that point she remembers fondly, but that was enough reflection for now.

The warm light of the sun was glowing in the clear blue sky and only a light breeze. The forecast called for a perfect day, so a lot of students were skipping class or cutting out for a quick meal in town. There was one though that remained in the training area of the Shinobi Academy, a young teen male with reddish-brown hair and dull green eyes. This boy had weighted gear strapped to his arms, chest, and legs along with having two different chains wrapped around each of his forearms. The four chains whipping about in every direction as he moves his wrists. The chains almost seemed to have a mind of their own as they flailed around striking the training dummy from every direction. Sweat dripping from his forehead, and soaking through his light blue training shirt. Students stood out of the range of the chain whips, while whispering amongst each other about the boy and his unusual style of combat. It is true though, not many people would have seen this style of fighting. Even his father only used the chains in combination with swords play. With a spin of flesh, sweat, and metal, Kyoshiro lashes out with the whips and wraps them around the training dummy before pulling it apart. The boy then falls to his knees from a combination of tiredness, hunger, and the weight of the chains and weights.

There are gasps of shock and awe at the last trick, though many of the spectators had left after the boy to take his knees. He would pant softly as sweat dripped down his face and landed on the concrete below him. Kyo's hands slowly working over the clasps to the guard that connected the chains to his forearms, till one by one they feel to the concrete below him. It was about that time an instructor came out to check what caused such a commotion in the school, only to see one of her young charges sweating up a storm in weighted gear. "Oh my~" A gasp left her lips as she pulls a bottle of water from her back. Her soft steps making their way to the boy's side, "Kyoshiro. I know you have a lot of pressure to live up to, but training like this...in this heat will be the death of you." She scolds as she helps him up and out of the weighted gear. After the male student is freed, Aimi offers up the bottle of water to him, "Trust me...take these things easy." The instructor doesn't bother with the chain whips, but lets Kyoshiro pick them up and put them away in a bag that was custom made for them. The reddish-brown haired lad looks up to her and nods softly before walking to leave the training area. "Your right. I need to take it easy, but your also wrong. I am not pushing myself for him." With that Kyoshiro left the grounds heading into town.

His first stop in town was the apartment where he was boarded, and up to his room. Once in there, Kyoshiro takes hold of his custom made katana, Kagu-tsuchi. It was about the only think Kyo knew his father to give him. That and the skills to use it. The boy finds a place to strap the sheathe onto his back, then leaves the room. His next stop was a ramen shop he had grown accustomed to. It was a small shop with about six or seven seats, and run by a small family. Though for some reason an old man was behind the counter instead of the owner. The owner was sitting in the shop with other customers. With a shrug of his shoulders, Kyoshiro looked to the old man, "I will take a bowl of Miso Pork ramen, please." With order placed he sat back in his seat and waited his turn to be served.

At some point the old man managed to convince the group to return, or rather Zess to, and they sat as before. Daichi shuffles along behind the counter, cleaning up the dishes the group had dirtied before leaving. "I know you all want to get going but I honestly can't take all this money from you all." Oni mumbles something about how it didn't matter to them if they gave more than was owed but the old man shakes his head. "Taking that much extra money from a kid, a little girl, and a hot headed boy... That's not an honorable thing for a former Ryouri Nin to do. Where you kids staying at? I know you aren't from here so--." But just as he asks, a newcomer parts the drapes serving as the door for the shop and enters inside. Zess's eyes shift to follow him a moment before he returns to watching the old man. He was more interested in how instead of a woman cleaning the dishes, Daichi was doing it himself. The Greek couldn't wrap his head around why he was doing any of these tasks often given to women. As the boy with reddish, rust colored hair gives his order, Zess touches Eiji beside her and whispers something to her.

As soon as he readjusts himself to sit up straight again, Eiji is on her feet. Oni quickly moves from his standing position and takes her seat, watching her move towards the entrance to get behind the counter. Noticing this, Yoshirou, the young grandson of the man cleaning the dishes, asks her what she is doing. "It is the woman's job to cook and clean. I was instructed to help Daichi with the cleaning of the dishes." Hearing this, the young chef gets to his feet. He tells Eiji it's all right and that he will wash the dishes instead. He goes a step further and asks his grandfather to sit down and he will also serve the person that had entered, noting him as one of his regulars. The gray haired man tries to reason with him to leave it to him but the young adult tells him he can handle it. They swap places, the old man taking his grandson's seat and his grandson taking control of the cleaning and cooking. He tells the customer that he will get right on it as Oni gets up from Eiji's seat so she can sit back down. Things remain on the quiet side before Daichi remembers what he had been saying.

"Are you three staying at an inn in town," he asks, looking at Oni and then to Eiji. The two shake their heads at the same time. Oni explains that they are camped out on the roof of the Academy building and the former Ryouri Nin nearly falls out of his seat. "Wha? What do you mean you're staying on the roof of the school? Is that even legal?" hearing this, Zess looks away from him and at Eiji. The girl wasn't sure if it was illegal or not. But no one had told them they could not sleep on a roof before. They all begin to stare at Daichi again who seems to be scratching the side of his face. "Ain't right for kids not to have a place to stay. Specially good ones. Well the girl and the babe, of course." Oni frowns at the man as he goes on, "Tell you what. I know a woman that lives not too far from the Academy here in Leaf. She owes me a favor so I'll see if she'll let you three stay at her flat. Next time the three of you come here, satoimo noodles on the house. Just tell Yoshi here to send for me and I'll make em up real good for ya. And a heaping bowl of white rice for the young man here." Daichi gestures to Oni who was started to get a little bothered by the constant remarks.

Still, if this man was important to Zess then he would bite his tongue the best he could. "My grandson says you come here pretty often, what's your name, lad," the old man asks, looking down the counter at the person that was awaiting his order. Zess begins rubbing his eyes a moment before feeling Eiji drape her pashmina scarf about his shoulders. He lays his head down on the table, his eyes now fixed on the frame of this new arrival. Eiji and Oni glance over at him but return to looking at each other with slight frowns as if arguing mentally.

It wasn't long after placing his order, that one from the group had leaned over to speak to another. Afterwards she got up and moved behind the counter to clean the dishes. When asked why she was helping she told them that she was instructed to and that 'it was a woman's job to cook and clean'. Kyoshiro shook his head softly as he waits for his bowl of ramen, "That is a rather old way of think for now a days." He would say a loud in response to Eiji. "Forgive my outburst. I am Kyoshiro Sanada of Hidden Steel, and based on that point of view..." His finger points to the boy that whispered into Eiji's ear, "You are from Hidden Mythology...or from some other older based village. Am I right?" Kyoshiro's dull green eyes glance over the small group in the noddle bar once more, before his bowl is placed before him. He gently blew over the steaming broth, before breaking his chopsticks in half and slurping up some of the noddles.

"What's Hidden Mythology," Eiji inquires, more interested in asking that than addressing his previous statement. Zess was only ever told about his role as a boy in his family and any other information only pertained to his role as a resident of the Lord's lands. His father never spoke casually to him and only informed him of things that were important to the mentioned things. Who he was and where he came from wasn't important unless it was his age and name. While Eiji was more conscious of her families customs and laws, she was never really told much about her ancestry as she was never meant to do more than breed future warriors and tend to the family and home. Potentially, if being of worth, being sold to a wealthy man under the Lord of their land. As for Oni, he never knew any member of his family as he was purchased by the Lord during the fight for Akagawa which is still going on. Therefore, he shouldn't know anything even more so than the others. So if this Kyoshiro saw a connection, they were interested. Aside from Oni who isn't so interested in moving beyond that point about the roles of women.

He seems to walk behind Eiji and poke at the extremely stiff bow that she had tied on her head like a headband. He explains, "Old or not, Eiji seems to follow those old ways of doing things. She's a bit slow to act nowadays which our Lord won't be happy to know about." He seems to pause, looking at Eiji out of the corner of his eyes as she glances quickly at Zess and then back at the red eyed teen behind her. The girl doesn't seem bothered beyond the fact that he is touching her headpiece and him mentioning the Lord displeasure. She shifts away from him as he chuckles, stepping back to where he had been standing behind the group. Oni eventually says, "That way of thinking should still be around today. But with so many women thinking like Eiji it's no wonder even men are starting to see it as archaic." The small child sitting and listening quietly doesn't seem to understand anything being said. It was all confusing because of all the strange words and people saying different things. Was Eiji wrong when she decided to go into the kitchen. The child whispers 'punishment', causing Eiji and Oni to grow a little tense.

Kyoshiro Sanada

The young teen boy would raise a brow as Eiji had asked him what exactly 'Hidden Mythology' was. This made him question his knowledge of villages, but perhaps the other teens just didn't know of villages outside their own. After all, based on that archaic view of a woman's job...they wouldn't have had an instructor like he had. "I see...I am sorry if I had offended any of you in anyway. I once had a Spartan woman as my combat instructor. She would often tell me that her village disliked that she didn't know her place, and that her response was that 'A Spartan's place is the battlefield'." It kinda dodged the question on what the village was, but there was little point in starting up conversation that described the hidden villages of the world.

His golden eyes would only gaze idly as one of the males side in behind Eiji and forced her into a stiff bow before him and her young lord(?). He had said too much about the archaic nature they treated there fellow team mate, so he opted to keep his mouth shut at the apparent bullying of her now. Kyoshiro instead listens to the male holding her into the bow. He spoke that others simply found their views as archaic due to the way women thought. It was a rather sexist comment really, but it wasn't his place to insult the group for their views. That and if Eiji was willingly following them knowing their attitude, then surely she would have to agree with them as well. The young teen just sits back, "That maybe true. Perhaps if all women weer submissive then no one would question an archaic view as archaic. It would just be the norm then." His words would ring true, though they would hold no degree of argument in them. This was due to his words agreeing to their views. A soft sigh would leave his lips afterwards as he looks over the three with golden eyes, "Well..as I said I had a woman instructor, so perhaps that is why I don't see things the same as you all do. It just based on the environment, and the way things are taught." His golden gaze falls on the empty bowl of noddles before him and he places the amount for the ramen bowl on the bar, "Perhaps one of you would wish to be my combat partner? Training on dummies are boring."

Kyoshiro would find the intent gaze of Zess on him all while he spoke aside from when Oni or Eiji caught his attention. The boy found the things he said confusing and interesting while his companions mostly thought it was something of note. Definitely someone that could grant them quite a bit of information. Oni simply narrowed his eyes more and more until shutting them. "A woman can feel as free as she wants," he would start when responding back about women and his views, "so long as she's not humored. Eiji is here with us because she thought she would start a fire. She was removed and the flames were quickly put out. Women thinking isn't the only issue. It's people just letting them be when they shouldn't." He would open his eyes before snorting, "Don't mind me though." He wasn't trying to sprout up a conversation. He just kept finding more and more to say. Meanwhile, Eiji sighs lightly. She knew Oni wasn't literally saying she was there for the reason she gave, but she didn't want it seeming that way. She was there for the same reason he was: to follow the young Greek. Her eyes would fall on the boy a moment before hearing Kyoshiro mention combat.

She would snap her gaze to fall on him as would Oni before they would look at Zess who seemed to have raised his hand. "I wouldn't mind fighting them if you're tired," Eiji asks but the child doesn't even look at her. He would be the one to fight with him. This was his mission after all. Besides, Zess didn't want Eiji to have to fight and Oni wasn't going to ask to stand in. He wanted to see the youth fight. Oni smirks a touch before shrugging his shoulders. He would complain that Eiji needed to let the men do the fight and for her to butt out. Eiji would respond by explaining how her task was also to alleviate the burdens of her leader and that he was the one that needed to be quiet. They would squabble as the white haired child would wait to see what Kyoshiro would say to him volunteering.

Need to update this post but yeah. Sorry if it's crappy. >.<

On second thought. I'm just gonna take the formatting out and add it back in when I have some spare time. Dylan's post is next but might not be tonight, unfortunately.

Yokouchi Yushiro shows up in his first day of class with his hands in his jacket as he sees Iruka sensei, someone he heard is very well known about the Hidden Leaf Village. Yoko sighs a bit as he takes a seat not liking to be in a place like this however he can tell he will have to go through a great while in the class. Iruka Sensi then goes through his papers saying"Alright everyone, since we are all seated, we are going to practice Henge no Jutsu. Being able to transform into a different person or object can help hide your presence. There is other jutsu that can combine with this but for the sake of the lesson, we will focus on this." Iruka Sensei looks towards Yokouchi which he says"Yokouchi, will you mind to show us how it is done, i hear you are talented in Genjutsu from where you live." Yoko doesn't say a word but simply gets up from his seat to stand in front of the class as he quickly performs the hand signs saying"Henge No Jutsu." Yoko transforms into the look of Iruka Sensei with perfect accuracy, no detail missing. Yoko then deactivates the technique which he appears as himself with arms crossed. Iruka Sensei then says"Very good, i haven't seen such a student master it just like that, you must really have great chakra control to do so, you may be seated." Yoko then walks down the aisle back to his desk and sits down. Yoko watches as other students get called up by Iruka Sensei one by one as they are all practicing this one technique. Some get it the first try like Yoko and some it takes second or third try to get it. By the end of the day, Yoko leaves to return to his village for the day and will be coming back tomorrow morning. (317 words, Transformation Jutsu Learned)

Yokouchi returns the next day with the same grimace look on his face, it wasn't going to get any better after all. The students in the class room would stare at him as his sliver hair goes lit a bit by the windows with the nice sunshine coming down. Some of the girls begin to wonder about him of why he is so quiet and doesn't say a word to anyone. Its simple, Yoko doesn't trust any of the shinobi here regardless if they are simply students, they have no business with him neither does he with them. Yoko is here to master the basics of the shinobi and stay at his village studying Genjutsu of his clan among other techniques that are offered on the island. Yoko knows in time he will travel to other villages to expand his horizon on Genjutsu and become very powerful at it. Becoming a specialist of Genjutsu is expected back in the Whirlpool Village since its nothing but Genjutsu taught there. Yoko goes down to his assigned seat that was appointed to him by Iruka and Iruka just got into the classroom ready as he shuffles papers among with having a smile on his face. "Well today's lesson is about using the Clone jutsu also known as Bushin no Jutsu. Like i said yesterday, the previous technique would go good with this very well since transforming yourself after cloning yourself would be a advantage. Alright i am going to call up Yokouchi once more to demonstrate how its done." Yoko once more gets up from his seat without saying a word as he stands in front of the class. Yoko performs the hand signs and says"Bushin no Jutsu." and a clone of himself appears next to him with his arms crossed, one of Yoko's general stances. Yoko even assigns a task to his clone which he takes chalk and writes"Ta-da." on the board. Once the task is finished, Yoko disperses his clone with the entire class clapping to his successful use of the Jutsu. Iruka then speaks once more"Indeed, you never cease to surprise me, your ability to do so well is astonishing really." Yoko says no word as Iruka nods and smiling as he departs back to his seat. Yoko though would look at Iruka for awhile and thought"Why are you being such a smile happy fellow? I wouldn't tell you this but you are quite putting a good impression on me. Maybe ill speak words to you some point." With that thought finished, Yoko wraps up for the day. (428 words, Learned Clone Jutsu)

Finally after all these years, he was now able to continue onto the path he wanted to set forth. No more overbearing father. No more missing mother. Nothing except the need to move forwards and begin his training to become a shinobi of the Hidden Magic village. Veilus smiled openly as he strolled through the gates and into the esteemed Shinobi Academy. This place hadn't changed one bit from the descriptions he had read about in his home village. It was the same roofs, the same pathways. Was that even the same instructors? No. No way. It must be their sons or daughters. This place has stood the test of countless years of time, and now he was going to be another student capable of sitting down and learning with the best of them. Veilus adjusted the large black trench coat that he had inherited from his father. Pulling the leather strap that was holding it snugly to him as he walked forwards through the shinobi academy.
No need to smile like that, there's nothing dead or dying around here. We should incite some chaos! "No! Go away!" Veilus yells loudly into the air, swiping at unseen forces that he felt were beginning to smother his very existence in what was supposed to be a peaceful and exciting new adventure for him He quickly attempted to compose himself, although he was visibly shaken by whatever had just come over him. He attempted to shake that fear away. He wasn't sure what was going on, but this dark thought that seemed to creep into his mind was only appearing to get stronger the more he brought focus to it. What could it be? He wasn't sure. But hopefully some time learning in the academy would be able to do him better than sitting in his empty home back in his village.
