Yeah. There'll be some high speed playtesting done in the middle ground for all of this to get it ready.

Revision: Captain "Geronimo" Blake - Elysian drop troop commander
The company command squad in your army may replace its Company Commander with Captain "Geronimo" Blake.
Points: 100 WS 4 BS 4 S 3 T 3 W 3 I 3 A 3 Ld 9 Sv 5+
Unit type: Infantry
Wargear: Flak armour, laspistol, power weapon, frag grenades, refractor field
Special Rules: * Senior Officer * From the Skies! * Done this one a hundred times! * Rock 'em like a hurricane
+ + +
Senior Officer: Blake is a senior officer and as such can issue the same orders as listed in the company command squad entry.
From the Skies!: True to Elysian tradition Blake has his forces flown into the fray below with massed waves of Valkyrie airborne carriers. To represent this units normally able to take a Chimera as a dedicated transport may instead opt to take a Valkyrie transport.
Because of such a large amount of airborne troops little else can be brought along, forcing the regiment instead to rely on other formations for support. As such, the following units count as 0-1 when Blake is in command: Ogryn squad, Ratling squad, Psychic Battle Squad, Rough Riders, Hellhound squadron, Leman Russ squadron, Hydra battery, Artillery battery, Manticore and the Deathstrike.
Done this one a hundred times! Blake and his command squad benefit from the "Airborne Assault" special rule found on page 46 of codex: Imperial Guard.
Rock 'em like a hurricane: Blake is known for his quick assaults that leave the enemy reeling in shock and confusion. All units within 12" of him have the Counter-Attack and Furious Charge special rules, including his command squad.

Wow. Just...wow. The level of detailing on those decals are just kinda awesome all around. The cutouts for the heads of the bolts/rivets are nice.

They do look smashing to say at the very least, it is very tempting to get them but without the proper tools (decal softener) I wouldn't even dare trying. sweatdrop

Quite right you are on that one, I've been told that you'll be needing both decal softener and a special decal sealer to keep it in place.

I'd just like to say... in an 8,000point game, the new Guard feel incredibly broken in a powerful way.
3 Death Strike missiles coming down in a span of 2 turns... with 12 Battle Tanks, 3 Demolishers, 3 Hell Hounds and 5 Chimeras backing it up with a Master of Ordnance hiding in the mix... it hurts... A LOT.
This message was brought to you by the view point of the Eldar player victim. mrgreen

Can't you destroy the Death Strike Missiles as they are flying at you?

And no, you can't shoot the missile out of the air, not unless you live in BoLS land.

No Apoc, just a regular 8K mission because I refuse to play Apoc until I've had time to read the book and since I rarely have enough time to play a game that huge.. it's not a priority lol.
No just... ouch time but a very fun battle none the less.
And no, you can't shoot down DeathStrike missiles because they are ordnance. Just like a Basilisk firing its gun.
You can however destroy the tank carrying the missile, my problem was it was 6 feet away from my army and behind my enemies armored core AND hordes of guardsmen. lol.. good times!
