"Don't kill me!" The man yelped and ducked, firing off more rounds randomly in Hidjie's direction. He thought he was going to get shot, he probably was going to get shot.

-Thud-

Tegral's head jerked backwards as one of the scientist's random shot caught him square in the forehead. "Ow..." Letting his head fall back into it's regular position he raised his magun again and fired two more shots. A bullet slammed into a tree's truck, just above the scientist's head. Splinters of wood flew out in random directions as the hollow tipped point slammed into the tree. The grid, once crystal clear, was now fuzzy and hard to maintain. Distance and wind speed still showed in the lower left corner of his vision...but everything else was blurred.

Of course, the man was now facedown in the dirt. He had dropped the gun, and was fumbling like mad for his cell phone. He only needed to make one call. Pulling up the case in from of him to protect his head, he flipped open his phone and began to dial. "What the hell!!!"

Again the heatlike haze surrounded Tegral...or maybe it was Hidjie...and again his appearance changed. His rough and ready looking out fit was replaced with a clean pressed white suit. The magnum in his hand phazed out of existance and Hidjie still held his stance as if he had the weapon in his hand. The wounds in his body were gone, and so was the dried and fresh blood. As soon as the gun disappeared Hidjie tried to puzzle out what had just happened.

The man didn't watch the transformation, he was busy yelling into his phone." I'VE GOT IT!!! YOU HEAR ME?!?I'VE GOT IT!!!" There was silence on the line, and then a simple response. "No, you don't." With that said, the line cut dead. This left the man in complete shock, as he lay in the dirt trapped with a man he'd just shot.

Hidjie didn't have a weapon, or atleast he didn't know if he did. Slowly he backed towards a tree, because something told him he wouldn't be able to stop a bullet...or atleast not survive if another one hit him. The base of the tree was wide, so it provided him with ample cover...but still he kept himself so he could watch the scientist. Why? Hidjie's right eye began to twitch and instinctivly he massaged the edge of his eye with his left hand. Who's instincts...? They were certainly not his. Bluff...

"Who are you, and why did you fire on me? Answer, or I won't miss next time." Miss? Miss with what...? He didn't have a gun! But did the scientist know that?

"I'm no one! And you're a friggen cybernetic maniac!" The man pulled himself to his feet. In one hand he gripped the briefcase, in the other he pointed his cell phone at Hidjie, waving it like a weapon."Now just!Just...uhh...Just give me your blood or something."

What a master of words he was.

Cybernetic maniac? That's right...he was. A twisted smile worked it's way onto his lips. Weapon...was the scientist carrying any other weapons? Where did the gun go? How many bullets had the scientist shot...?! Gah, he couldn't remember. "Why do you want it?!" Stall for time...had to do something, but what?! He kept his eye on the scientist, but occassionally he'd jerk his vision away for a moment to scan for any sort of weapon or to see if the scientist had dropped his weapon.

The scientist's weapon was indeed lying in the dirt. Judging by how many rounds he'd fired, there would be quite a few left. Ignoring Hidjie's question, he started to make his way over to him. His cell phone was still open, and his hands were full. He'd have to find an odd way to take the sample.

Hidjie's suit did not allow for very much movement, so fighting hand to hand was not really an option. Ducking the rest of the way behind the tree, his back pressed against the back, he hid himself from view. "s**t..." he murmered under his breath. What was he going to do? What was that device the scientist had...another weapon? Maybe he could dart past the him and avoid getting hit...maybe...he'd have to wait though, wait for him to get closer. If all went well he'd...what? He didn't have a weapon, and he didn't know how to fight!!

((God damn work. Gwar!!!!*Is torn from this alternate reality.*))

The man shook his head softly. As he went to move around the tree, he simply vanished. There was no trace of him left, just the gun laying in the dirt with spent shells surrounding it. All and all, the weapon had 14 shots left.

((Eh, oh well...I have a physics and a trig test here in a few seconds, gotta get that done.))

Hidjie glanced back around the base of the tree...nothing! Where did he go?! Turning he moved to the other side of the tree and glanced that way as well. Nothing. Cautiously he stepped out from his cover and quickly moved towards another tree, slowly moveing his way towards the weapon. Was it a trap? What ever, he had to get a weapon.

Creeping from one tree to the next he soon found himself with the black gun at his feet. Kneeling down he picked the weapon up and turned it over in his hands. It seemed light, but at the same time very heavy. Stuffing it into his coat he started walking away. What was he doing here, again?

Aria walked into a clearing after following down some paths. Her skin was crawing with excitiment. She felt as if she wasn't careful she might accidently use a spell. She Jumped around, finally the plan to get her mother back was set in motion.

Sitting on a branch above the edge of the clearing, some distance from the girls, Draeken idly whittled at a piece of wood with a dagger. He didnt seem to pay them anymind, but he was alert just the same. Just in case something didnt go well.

*Aethi laughed at the look on Ari's face. She knew, though that she must have one of similar excitement on her own face.*

You are being very cute right now, Aria. But anyway, lets get this going. Stand about five feet from me if you will?

*Aethi suddenly became utterly serious. All laughter and smiles had gone as soon as if they had never been there. She raised her right arm up towards Ari, holding the orb lightly.*

You ready?
