Something like that, three or so months from now they should be released.

2.000 points Planetstrike, I'm the defender, using Cadians. The attackers are orks and lots and lots of them. What I want is a lot of bodies and a lot of tanks so I can hold down my two Bastions, defence lines and ruined Manufactorum. Deployment will most likely be on one short side of the board, with the two Bastions anchoring each edge of the line with a double line of Aegis running in between them. One Bastion will have a void shield, my other asset will be krak attack to incur some losses on deep-striking foes. Opposite of my fortress I'll plunk down the Manufactorum with some barricades and three sets of woodland (good hunting grounds for Ratlings and penal squads). Hopefully this will force my opponent to radically split his forces when tackling both objective zones at once.

HQ.
Command squad - power weapon, medic, standard bearer, vox, meltagun, Astropath, Naval Fleet officer and Master of Ordnance.....210 pts

Primaris Psyker.....70 pts

Lord Commissar - power weapon.....80 pts

Elites.
Ratlings (5).....50 pts

Troops.
Infantry platoon 1.....435
Command squad - medic, banner, vox, meltagun
Squad 1 - flamer, vox
Squad 2 - flamer, vox
Squad 3 - grenade launcher, vox
Heavy weapons - autocannons (3)
Heavy weapons - missile launchers (3)

Infantry platoon 2.....445
Command squad - power weapon, medic, banner, vox, meltagun
Squad 1 - flamer, vox
Squad 2 - flamer, vox
Squad 3 - grenade launcher, vox
Heavy weapons - heavy bolters (3)
Heavy weapons - missile launchers (3)

Penal Squad.....80 pts

Penal Squad.....80 pts

Heavy Support.
Leman Russ - heavy bolters (3).....170 pts

Leman Russ - heavy bolters (3).....170 pts

Basilisk.....125 pts

Griffon.....75 pts

Total: 1.990 pts

Da kunning plan: I plan on massing most of my troops around the two Bastions and the defence line there, quite a risk with all the firestorm templates that could rain down (D6+3) but at least one Bastion will be safe from that thanks to the void shield. This Bastion will hold my company command squad. The other bastion will be manned by first platoon command. Looming over the defence line and the men there will be my two Russ tanks and Baslisk, which will most likely be pressed into direct fire support for best effect.

The other, lone objective will be held by second platoon (bolstered by the lord commissar) and supported by a Griffon lurking in the rear along with Ratlings and Penal troops hiding in the woods. Hopefully they can inflict some damage or pose as some sort of speed bump before my opponent can take over the Manufactorum.

I've got a feeling my plan won't survive past the firestorm barrage but this could be interesting. surprised

Splitting forces and not putting anything in reserve? Bad move. talk2hand

I'm sure a bunch of conversions are going to show up in the months in between.

I've built my own Vanquisher and Eradicator back in March, not that hard to pull off with the right parts.

Conversions, you say?

Not mine, but it works nicely.

Most new Russ patterns are easily built with some plasticard and patience. Only real exception seems to be the Executioner, which requires some real converting to properly build a large plasma blaster. I've also seen a nice Colossus conversion that uses the base of the Shadowsword for the main gun.

Mac, just the two platoons seems a bit light for 2000pts. At least in my opinion.

But I get to field four tanks in a legal list without having to form squadrons! crying

Plus more bodies = more targets for the firestorm.

Maybe I'll drop the Basilisk in favour of two extra infantry squads with flamers and vox casters.

Well the problem is you only hafve about 90 men against a lot more Orks most likely. If you have any problems with the small platoons you won't be capping objectives! gonk
