Jer0nim0 Jedi Sasquatch God damn it.
I knew I shouldn't have spent money on the stupid ticket. I knew it was going to be a waste of money and that BB doesn't actually have any content.
But I did it anyway, because I've been severely depressed and I knew you guys were going to hang out there and I didn't want to be left out of yet another guild event.
Now I have it, and I see that it's just a chat room that you can walk around in. And I doubt people are going to even use it that much. I think I'm actually going to go home and just sit here every day with that window open, actually. It's just too gorgeous. The people (not you) who were cussing out devs because of "lack of content" need to get over it and appreciate it. I wish I could hold the wedding here.... @,@ I wouldn't "cuss out" the devs, because it was my stupid, stupid mistake to buy the ticket. People have been VERY quick to remind me that the devs told us all that all this place was going to be was a place for people to "hang out" (as if they'd never heard of the concept of a chat room before), so sure, I'm at fault here.
I just don't get how it makes any sense though. The Coliseum was free, and it actually did have content. BB costs money, and it doesn't have any content. Whatsoever. I fail to see the logic in that.
Anyway, what people in the BB at the time didn't understand was that I'm not pissed off at the devs, I'm just pissed off in general. Well, pissed off at myself, actually.

Don't worry, I really did mean not you. On my screen there's like 5 people so far complaining at the devs like they didn't know. >,>; But I'm assuming there's going to be new activities we'll have access to in the future.

You know what, I take back what I said. I actually am pissed off at the devs. Not because I spent my money on it, but because they would do this in the first place. The fact that they would release an unfinished add-on (with none of the content in it yet) to the public and expect them to pay for it just bewilders me.
This has drained any faith in zOMG that I might have still had. It's clear that the devs don't care about the game.

@ Jedi: Quote: Do not talk about other guild members or guild related issues here. We have had issues in the past with drama from skype and people disliking each other spilling over into this thread. Don't even just hint at it without naming people. Don't try and skirt around this rule. If you see someone else doing this, tell a mod please. We will be taking it very seriously. This is the first thing I need to point out. I've edited out the mentioned names because namedropping is not allowed in any way, shape or form. Second thing is that you are allowed to be pissed about it, you are not alone as I'm sure there are several people that aren't liking this. But we were simply stating what we knew and what we said were our opinions, as you have yours 3nodding .

This has drained any faith in zOMG that I might have still had. It's clear that the devs don't care about the game. I'm forced to disagree - the Devs seem to care. Gaia's management doesn't, but the devs do things like take time to talk to the users (being surprisingly honest about where things are heading), listen to user feedback, include nods at gaian continuity in the things the write (the Bifrost, or a ship much like it, is in the water, the number of buildings is apparently somehow Zurg related though I'm darned if I know how).

The reason why they're releasing it now and charging for it is simple. Coliseum was in the works and finished, BB is still being worked on. Since BB is unfinished, and the devs jobs are on the line, if they didn't release it now they probably never would have gotten another chance to. They're giving us a sneak peak and charging us to take that sneak peak so they can keep their jobs and add more to it. If they don't keep they're jobs? Well at least we have a hangout spot.

I'm sure you would know this if you looked at z!F or SF, but this idea was purely a user idea. Users pushed the devs to monetize zOMG in this way and they did it. zOMG needed money and a new hangout spot you could access with a headstart ticket was what users suggested. This way, the devs were satisfying user demands for a new area + new material (the companions) while also making money the game sorely needs. If you are to blame anyone, you should be blaming the users who lobbied for it.

I wouldn't have made the friends I made. I probably would have taken a long, long hiatus from Gaia. Because I think it's a fun game.
