[Nicholas :: Jadis' Castle :: Armory]

"Well, yes." Nick paused, remembering the ordeal with the dark ones. "But when could you have spoken with him? The only time I could possibly think of is after I left and you spoke with Ajora. But I won't question your or Seymour's ideas or whatever. As long as I get to play with my toys, whatever you is fine with me. As for the castle, I'll probably just stay here and make this my home. I don't really want to go out and search for a new one, but things could change."

Nick yawned, twirling the charm around his wrist. Ajora hadn't asked for him, yet he awoke specifically prepared for whatever was happening to...well, happen. He pictured Ajora in his head, attempting to reach out to him through the charms.

Ajora~ What am I supposed to be doing? I don't mind waiting, but what are you expecting me to do all day while you dilly-dally with your thumb in your mouth? I want blood~

[ Ajora ; Artemis : ??? : ??? ]

"You're a grown man, if you want blood, go kill a child or something," came Ajora's immediate retort, obviously dry. "But if you're done whining like a prepubescent woman, teleport to the Dutchman, or my army a click or so away from Atlantica, or wherever. Tell me where we can meet and I'll grab you when I'm done."

[ ??? : Shipwreck Cove : Pearl ]

With all the hustle and bustle on the docks, the constant shouting, and the ships coming and going, it was hard to hear anything all that far from you unless you were yelling. And despite the hole in the cove top, the sun was still at a low angle, making it hard to see without actual sources of artificial light.

As such, a small blur of motion from the water directly below and the faint sound of a single splash were practically impossible to detect.

The moment whatever it was had jumped into the Pearl's lower decks from the cannon holes on the side, whatever lanterns that had been in there went dark. If, for whatever reason, people were in the area, they would find themselves unable to see anything until the left to go above.

Whatever (or whoever) it was remained for as little time as possible. No one could detect it via magical means, and sight was impossible. There was an odd sound for a few moments within the lower decks, as if something was being welded, but before anyone could find the trace of the sound, it stopped. At that moment, sight returned (though it was still pitch black), the lanterns were visible again...

And there was another blur of motion just outside the ship, followed by a soft splash. Should anyone look down, they might have seen a peculiarly large fish vanish into the murky depths and crevices of the Cove. However, with the hustle and bustle around them, who would pay attention to the sound of a simple wave?

[Nicholas :: Jadis' Castle :: Armory > The Flying Dutchman]

"Oh, Ajora, no need to get sarcastic~ After all, today is supposed to be a glorious day. Why must you attempt to wound me so?" Nicholas returned, his voice trailing dramatically as he gripped the handle of Garland's blade. He relaxed his grip, a smirk crossing his face as he tossed the sash full of knives onto a random rack of weapons before giving a small wave to the brown haired woman that he called Teacher.

"I'm off, Teacher. I will speak to you whenever Seymour needs me for a job or whatever he does. Now, I get to play!" He cackled, then paused for a moment as a memory flew through his mind. His mom sighing, telling him that his high pitched laughter was her 'curse'. The Dark Knight shook it off, ignoring the memory and jumping into a Dark Corridor.

A portal of Darkness appeared on the deck of the Dutchman, the green clad anarchist stepping out with a large grin. "Salutations, ladies and gents. Enjoying your cruise?" He announced in an arrogant tone, while stating to Ajora over the charms, "On the Dutchman, have fun with your thumb-twiddling."

[Axel: Black Pearl: ]
“I guess you have a right to be,” he admitted at Dawns response. “this Ajora, he’s a nasty schemer, worse than some characters I’ve met- but as long as you’re honest with yourself, you won’t do something stupid. There’s nothing worse than a bunch of blowhards running into the fight without any sense.”
The Flaming haired nobody shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly to Demyx, “ See? Thinking has gotten me this far- I’m not looking forward to seeing what nasty stuff Zexion’s no doubt been working on to surprise us- but hey- against a guy like him, it’s always good to try and stay 3 steps ahead.”

Speaking of 3 steps.
" What do you think about the book worms ideas? Think she can make good on her offer?" By which he was referring to the Pictomancers claim she wanted to start her own research into heart restorations.
"Ooooh- hohoh, wouldn't it be just priceless if we actually beat the snob by getting our hearts back first? We rub it in his face and really appreciate being able to....'course there is the possible bad side. Loosing our powers."

[Kyla: Atlantica: throne Room]

What Jenny had said actually surprised Kyla. She never had anyone say something like that to her before. Never.
Sure there were the usual comments of encouragement here and there but for all that time Kyla couldn’t recall a single moment when she actually received any verbal acknowledgment for anything she did. Not here, or back home. She could do everything right- if that were possible, but no one would notice, and if they did they wouldn’t care…or worse, act like she didn’t exist purposefully.
It was such an alien thing, but it was warm and comforting.
Wait- their hands were intertwined!?
This closeness was nice though, and she could swear she felt the kindness buffeting her form Jenny like a warm breath of air. This watery scenery was messing with her vision because it was misty all of a sudden. She blinked away bubbles from her eyes that after drifting away became pearls and fell to the coral reef below without her realizing it.
Even when their hands parted that warmth lingered in her fingertips like some kind of muscle memory.
“ Alright, thank you Jenny and… about the other thing,” Kyla looked back at the musician her face was unreadable, but no doubt her song spoke volumes. “ You’ve done so much already I’m sure. You’re not the one to stand idly by- it’s not in you either. You’re doing just fine, more than fine, and you’ll get even greater I’m sure. Girls as kind as you… you always get a Happy Ending. You deserve no less.”
Just before they exited the throne room however Matt came in through the entrance way. “Matt? Good to see you made it back in one piece. Yes- We were just about to check the front lines right now. Care to come?”

[Noelle ~ Atlantica ~ Ariel's Cove ]

Well, he wasn't using the Darkness, but it was certainly there. It wasn't the worst that it could be, but it was offsetting nonetheless. If it really just took reaching far enough in search of power, even accidentally, to realize its presence . . . and with Kyle pushing himself so hard . . . things didn't look good. She glanced away as he started speaking again, having a hard time hiding her renewed concern. Even if she could hide it, it would still be in her eyes.

"Mhmm, I'll try not to worry so much." Noelle said, trying not to fidget.

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Ariel's Cove ]

As she looked away, Kyle tilted his head, his eyes furrowing. After a moment, he slowly swam forward and grabbed her left hand--the hand with the seal upon the back of its palm--and held it gently, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Hey, look at me," he said, his voice quiet but positive. "Really, there's no need to worry about me. And don't bother lying, it's written all over your face."

He was only partially lying, of course; he could feel her anxiety through the seal, but her lack of eye contact didn't help hide it, either.

"I'm not worried. You know why?" he said, his smile only broadening. "Because I know that, should anything happen to me, I have you guys to help me out. Joe, you, Matthew, Kyla, Jenny--and the same goes for you, and for them, and for everyone. We're a team. We're in this together. We'll get some new scars, but we'll always come out with each other."

With that, he couldn't help but reach his other hand out and playfully ruffly her water-swept hair, knocking it side to side playfully. "Now, come on, I want to get everyone together on the front lines for a bit of tactical talk and at the moment I can't really focus too much on swimming without messing up, so I'll need you to help me out, mmkay?"

[ Ajora : Caribbean : Dutchman's Deck ]

"Now now, no need to be childish," Ajora responded via the charms.

"Welcome aboard, boy."

Leaning over the helm's rail, peering down at the main deck where most everyone was gathered, was none other than Ajora.

"Not when I'm close enough to bite."

[Noelle ~ Atlantica ~ Ariel's Cove --> Throne Room ]

Noelle looked up at Kyle with her eyes but not her face. She didn't feel that she could. It wasn't that she didn't believe him but . . . well, okay, she didn't quite believe him. She felt like she did need to worry about him and couldn't help how she felt. When he played with her hair she gave him a small, slightly strained smile, but it wasn't any good. There was no way she could convince him she wasn't upset. But she could help him, regardless. The small blonde nodded and grasped his hand tighter with her left before turning for the entrance to the grotto. The large stone hiding the entrance rolled away at her touch, her terramancy making the job much easier than having to push it away.

The agromancer swam along, guiding Kyle by hand to the palace and glancing side to side every once in a while to look for the others. There were guards and other merfolk swimming around, but she didn't see any of their own party until she caught glimpses of some of them in the throne room. Noelle approached silently, hand intertwined with Kyle's, and glanced back at him as if to say 'we're here.'

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Throne Room}

...psh, ignore me, then, the Archer thought when she received no response back from Dawn. She wasn't mad; Dawn was topside and working to prepare for the upcoming battle (or she should have been), and Bobbi didn't even know if she was working the charms correctly. When she heard Kyla mention something about going to the front lines and checking them out, Bobbi swam out of her little hidey-hole to join the trio.

"Mind if I join?" she asked. "I need to scout and make sure the captain-soldier-dude I was talking to earlier and I found the best place for me and my bow. Pretty sure we did, but hey, paranoia's a good thing."

She saw Kyle and Noelle swimming hand-in-hand into the throne room, and offered a careless wave to the duo. There was something a little off about Kyle, and she frowned just a bit at the change. There were odd runes glowing on his body, and his eyes were purple. They may have been purple before, she was horrible at remembering eye colors, but she was fairly certain they didn't glow last time she saw him. She wasn't going to question anything, though; for all she knew, this had something to do with what he'd been up to all night.

"Hey, fearless leader! Hey, li'l sis!" she teased, then switched into serious mode. "Show time, or just getting some air, Kyle?"

[Matthew :-: Atlantica :-: Throne Room]

"I think that'd be for the best, I believe Kyle revoked my rights to go on my own," Matt said in response to the pictomancer. He propelled himself closer to the pair, stopping just short of them. "You two ready for this? Wonder if it's gonna be like that 1000 Heartless battle that happened at Radiant Gardens," he said. That had been one of his favourite parts of Kingdom Hearts 2, so he wouldn't mind being able to relive that. Under water. Without legs. And with sweet-a** magic.

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Throne Room ]

Kyle waved back over to Bobbi with a smile, as well as toward the others (Mathy, Jenny, and Kyla were still there, as well); he couldn't help but snort at Bobbi's title and choice of words. After muttering a quick thanks to Noelle for guiding him, he spoke up to in response.

"Just a bit of fresh salt water, for the most part," he mused, chuckling. "Wanted to get everyone together for a quick tactics session before everything got started. I had some ideas for a few people."

{Kyle : Atlantica : City}

Kyle was sitting on the sand, playing with it as he tried to calm himself. He was getting serious jitters and he wasn't feeling the best. He wasn't sure why either. He'd been in fights since coming here. The biggest had been just a day ago. And it wasn't like the waiting was killing him. Maybe it was the lack of familiar faces. Well, he remembered most of them. But he'd only really spent time with Bobbi. The others were in that 'we're all alive' group, while she sat in the 'friend' group. Being underwater didn't help. The ground didn't move as fast as he wanted it to. It was harder to move his tail and attack at the same time. Man, it's just complaint central up in here.

Looking over at someone's voice, he smiled at the masked girl. He'd hadn't caught her name, but pushed off the ground and floated over. "Hey. Well, aside from the jitters, I'm doing pretty well. I'm Kyle, by the way. And how are you holding up miss...?" His voice trailed off as he extended a hand.

Sayrike::Atlantica::City

The smile came easily to Sayrike's face. "Heya, I'm Sayrike!" She took the hand and shook it firmly. "Sorry, I hadn't quite caught everyone's name last night. There seems to be so many of us now. Are you a semi-recent addition to the group too? I only joined yesterday myself...and yet it seems like it's been a week. Though I guess being in constant danger can make time lengthen like that..." The girl stopped and laughed. "Hmm, maybe I have a bit of the jitters too. I just seem to be blabbering on and on! Where are you from anyway? And what's your magic like?" The last question was a bit pointless, since she had seen him spar with Matthew yesterday along with everyone else, but small talk was small talk and she wanted to get to know him better.

[Technically, Goofy's hat stayed on his head in Atlantica...]

[Dawn : Shipwreck Cove : Black Pearl]

"It's meh," was Dawn's only response to Bobbi over the charms. As she continued to look into the water and try and ignore the conversation between the Nobodies. When she already had a lot on her mind she'd rather not be thinking of the one that betrayed them. AKA Zexion. They'd have time to question his motives later.

As she was looking into the water, she saw a wave and what appeared to be a large fish swim away from the ship. The sight of it made her both curious and somewhat freaked out.

"Well that is something you don't see everyday," she said out loud before continuing over the charms to Bobbi, "Bobbi, just be careful not to be eaten down there. Large fish are bound to get hungry and interested in a bite sized snack.
