Jou felt his heart drop to the pit of his stomach as Yuugi slowly turned and left the room. -Yuugi...- His protective instincts taking over, Jou found the strength to push himself up with barely a stumble and to hurry after his friend. "Yuugi!"
He ran out the front door and out to the driveway, where his Yuugi stood staring dazedly towards the house. Stopping next to the boy, Jou put his hand on Yuugi's shoulder and gave him a worried look. "Yuugi..."

Yuugi watched Jou run to him and he felt sort of weird when he put his hand on his shoulder. He slowly turned his gaze to his friend, not sure exactly what to say. He just looked at him, his mouth in a straight line. He then felt like pulling away from Jou, but continued to stay in his spot. He moved his look away from him and to the house once more.
"You know you could have told me right?"
he asked, not moveing his eyes from the house.
((ahh im shivering...its cold in this room...and once more, sorry for the shortness, probably gonna go soon. ^^; ))

Malik had been looking at Bakura in disbelief the whole time. Even so, that he didn't see Yuugi leave his side. The sound of a door made his head snap up. He turned around and saw that he had left. His expression changed from that of a startled look to one wearing a frown. 'Ok, so it WASN'T a good idea to come in here after all...'
Just then, he saw Jou run out the door after his best friend. Before Malik could even utter a word, there was the slam of the door. He gave a sigh and looked back at Bakura, giving a slight shrug.

Jou shut his eyes tightly and and tried to ebb the guilt rising in his chest.
"... I didn't know how to tell you Yuugi. You know you're my best friend, and I just didn't want to see you get hurt. I wasn't even sure if I... what I thought about Bakura." He tightened his hand's grip on Yuugi's shoulder in a reassuring way, even though he knew it wouldn't help. "I'm really sorry Yuugi."

Bakura sat up as Jou quickly got up and ran after Yuugi. "Ah! Jounouchi!" The spirit called after him but he just kept running after Yuugi. Sighing Bakura then looked over at Malik and quiestioned him. ".....So?"

Yuugi looked back to Jou and didnt have any emotion on his face. He just looked at him.
"Its...its ok. You dont have to be sorry. You didnt do anything. I am just being selfish"
he said softly and then looked to Jou's hand. He still didnt know what to say exactly. He didnt even know how he felt about all of this. It seemed to fast to even think about. His face seemed to be plastered in stone as he looked at his hand. He then smiled reassuringly, trying to not make his friend feel bad.
"And it isnt your fault if you feel something for him...its just strange"
he said faking a chuckle and smile. He didnt want to make Jou feel guilty for something he didnt do. He looked back to the house, still confused on his feelings.

Jou felt a stange, painful feeling for his friend at the sight of those eyes. Usually bright amethyst orbs now seemed so dull... it was heart-wrenching for Jou to see his friend that way. He shook his head and sighed.
"No, Yug, this IS my fault. I should have told you, but I just didn't want to yet. And you're not being selfish." Jou gave his friend a determined frown. "That's the LAST thing you are. You could probably stand to be a little more concerned about your feelings then everyone else's." Now that Jou concentrated, he could see right through Yuugi's charade. Something was wrong. Seriously wrong.
"What's been up with you lately, Yuugi?"

Yuugi finally turned his head towards Jou and finally frowned in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
he asked a bit shaky still. His eyes looked to the ground again. He paused and stopped saying anything. He moved his lips but nothing came out. It was as if someone had torn his vocal chords, not wanting him to say anything. He closed his lips and looked up to Jou once more. Truely he himself didnt know whats wrong. It was too many things to name, and some even nameless.

"What did it sound like I meant?" Jou said quietly. "Something's been up with you lately that no one knows about. It's not like you to get all depressed like this! But I get it if you don't want to tell me..." the taller boy moved in front of Yuugi, put a hand on each of his shoulders, and kneeled down so that he and his friend could be more on eye-level with eachother. "But you've got to tell somebody! You can't just sit there being depressed all day! I get it if you don't want to tell me, especially after all this... but... at least talk to Malik about it when you go home." He looked straight into Yuugi's eyes in a commanding, yet worried way. "He's a smart guy. I bet he'll be able to help."

Yuugi paused as he looked at Jou and frowned.
"I know...but its just...I dont know myself"
he said softly. He then smiled reassuringly.
"I would tell you if I knew. But I dont"
he said sweetly. His eyes still seemed dull though. He just thought he could get over it within a couple days. It wasnt like it was the end of the world or anything.

"Yuugi..." Jou felt hurt and angry at himself for not being able to help his friend. -He's my best friend and I can't even help him!- "Then think about it, ok? Promise me that when you find out what's making you like this you'll talk to someone about it. Promise me Yuugi!" he told his friend sternly.
((Hey, mine is short too so don't worry about it xp .))

"I promise. And you will be the first to know"
Yuugi said softly, still smiling a bit for Jou. He looked at Jou, it was as if he was through straight through him. He then spoke up again.
"But you have to promise me something to. That you will try not to get hurt...in any way..."
he said, trailing off at the end. His smile dissappeared as he looked to Jou. He finally got over the strange feeling of what just happened in the house. But it was still there somewhere.

"Huh?" Jou blinked and looked back at Yuugi, puzzled. -Why would I have to worry about me getting hurt? It's him i'm worried about! It's probably because of Bakura, since the guy doesn't exactly have a clean record...- Jou nodded and sincerly answered, "I promise." He released Yuugi's shoulders, feeling a little more at ease now. "If you need me, i'll be here at Bakura's. Things weren't really working out for me back at my old apartment, so i'm gonna crash here. Alright?" He gave his friend one of his optimistic smiles. "In the meantime, concentrate at what's been eating at you and come tell me. I don't care what time it is or what i'm doing, but when you figure it out get your butt over here and talk to me!" He ruffled his friend's spiky hair in a friendly gesture.

Yuugi chuckled a bit and nodded.
"I will, dont worry"
he said softly and reassuringly. He then looked back to the house, he knew he wouldnt be so sure about Jou staying there, but he had to let him do what he wanted.
((...now thats short ^^;; i just dont know what to do))
