I was watching Daredevil, right? Well, near the end there's this mask on the floor, with rose petals and a water-and-blood stream coming at it.
It made me think Phantom, though. Had there been a full rose, it could have easily been a cover to some soundtrack.

I may have mentioned this before...>.<
In the song "If I Didn't Have You" from the movie Quest for Camelot, Devin dresses as a geisha at one point, while Cornwell dresses as...Erik, in all his half-masked, costumed/referenced-to-death glory.

You watched that too? I think I somehow missed that part though. I saw the song, but not that particular scene. EDIT: Erm...a little random, but have any of you ever heard of John Cudia? Cause he's the Phantom in the stage performance I'm going to see.

It's one of the few reasons I like Youtube- the songs from the movie sound so beautiful in different languages. The German, Hebrew and Italian versions are faultless. *swoon*
D: My friend's going to that performance too! I wanna see it...

Two new references! (well, only one real NEW one, the other's kind of old...)
first, in the video game Final Fantasy VI, there's a scene in an Opera House where the manager is going nuts because he recieved a note saying that the prima dona was going to be kidnapped by a man in love with her, and your character's devise a plan to catch the kidnapper in the opera by switching the prima dona with one of your party members, in a scene that just screams "Notes/Twisted Every Way. There's also this inept villian who tries sending notes himself, but nobody pays any attention to them.
Secondly, there's a scene in the new Harry Potter book that has a very POTO like part in it. Spoiler-At the end of Chapter 24 where Dobby drops the chandielier on Bellatrix during the battle at Malfay ManorEnd Spoiler

That part was so Phantom that I jumped in glee and scared my dad half to death.

Not sure if this belongs here, but has anyone seen the Uncyclopedia entry for POtO? (Parental discretion advised O_o)Kinda funny, in an idiotic, obscene kind of way. "Objects in mirror may be less angelic then they appear" xD

Two references:
According to Baby Names World, the name Macaulkey means "son of the Phantom". No idea why.
Also, I was reading an article about NASA allegedly letting astronauts go into space drunk. stare Anyway: Quote: NASA officials let them fly even after flight surgeons and fellow astronauts raised concerns that flight safety might be jeopardized, according to the report, done by a panel created by NASA after the arrest of astronaut Lisa Nowak in February on charges she tried to kidnap her rival in a love triangle.Sounds like someone's been watching way too many PotO remakes.

...that's...interesting...that Uncyclopedia. My friend said that was special.
I was watching the movie earlier, and I kept thinking things from Phantom in 15, and not to mention that the same friend kept on reminding me of mishearings so all of us heard them.

Oooo a few days ago, I was watching Disney' s "The Haunted Mansion" and was surprised at the beginning and how it just screamed PotO! It begins with people dressed very elegantly dancing in a humungo ballroom and a mask fading in and out...kinda of like its falling to the ground. Also there is a music box and although it isnt exactly like the poto on,e it does open up with the music of the dance and a couple dancing...and the girl has a dress reminicent of the one Emmy wears in the 04 movie during Masquerade.
It really was very, very similar!

Nifty!
Hm...in Mario Party for Wii, I noticed the following things:
Waluigi always holds a rose out to the screen when he wins a game. Do take note of this.
Well, Peach is like Leroux!Christine, a bit. I mean in looks, not literally.
Mario is always trying to save her, so he's like Raoul.
Waluigi is as thin as a skeleton, and when he holds out the rose he puts his hand to his face.
Makes me think that there's some Phan in charge of creating these things somewhere. Either that or I've gone off into the deep end.

This sounds like the conversation in the "Raoul in Beauty and the Beast"-type thread.

it does? I don't go to that thread, so I wouldn't know.
And goshdarnit! I keep humming PONR for no reason! Really loudly too, it's annoying me more than my parents...then again, they can't hear me from all the way across the house.

It was the thread where you and I talked about what Disney's version would be like if the sisters were in the movie.
