Patches walked down the steps with a grin. She made sure no one was looking as she hopped the turnstyle, and sat on a bench to watch the mortals walk on by.

Within half an hour, a train arrived and people started filing off. Patches eyes, hidden beneathe her hood and goggles, began to take on a dark red and black glow. They began to pass by.

"You know, you shouldn't take that kind of s**t from your husband. He's just a bully." she sent to a woman with a black eye. "Think of how good it would feel to cheat on him... to leave him at home, furious, while you satisfy your worst urges..."

"Money is tight. No one would blame you for robbing that store. You need the money more than that corporation... and that clerk has the choice of cooperating or not. If he dies he dies..."

"Gotta get another hit, gotta get another hit, gotta get another hit, gotta get another hit..."

"It is the will of god."

She cackled with glee. Making mortals hurt each other was the reason for EVERYTHING. Vampires fed, lycans fought, hunters hunted, and Demons made the world a worse place.

A blind beggar with a sign rattled past her. He stopped infront of her. "Well... crap." she thought as he turned to blindly stare at her.

He turned to the world. "THE DEVIL-" as he started to scream. She moved so fast that if you weren't moving as you looked you'd never have noticed. She threw the heel of her hand into his chest right up under his heart, stopping it.

The blind man fell to the ground. She continued her game as people passed indiffrently. Thankfully, she could count on the callousness of humans. She strode out.

::Exit to church::

Persephone walks through the subway as though each step pains her. She flings herself down on a bench. She can feel the Voice in the back of her head, growing stronger.

"He's just waiting for the right time..." she mumbles into her arm.

"Ugh... wha..?"

Persephone looks up and sees Brian. Her face lights up.

"Hey!" she calls as she practically leaps off the bench.

"It's you! How are you?" she asks with a touch of seriousness.

Persephone looks at the new arrival, and really stares quite rudely.

'Yet another monster. How many of us are in this city?' she thinks sadly.

She jumps a little bit in a startled sort of way.

"Goodbye," she says and looks away.

Shadow talks to him in his mind. Put the cigarette out now, I can smell it all the way from the park!

he threw his cig away and stood up"so why are you down here all alone?"

"well why were you down here in the first place?"
