Rivener kept glancing at the bonfire, and finally his need for warmth got the better of him. "Excuse me," he said to the customer. "If there is anything else, I'm sure either one of the others at my booth will be able to help... I have to go." Rivener bowed respectfully, and floated away quietly.
A quick glance over his shoulder revealed that Eiry had been concentrating on the flowers; Rivener should be able to sneak away and be alone for a while. Smiling to himself, the Scorpion Frei made his way towards the fire.
Ahh, the warmth welcomed him quickly; he could already feel better when he approached the central area of the fair. For a few moments he just reveled in the comfort of the flames, before looking around peacefully.
Aphismet was talking with that annoying child and its sister, from before. Peh. Chloe and some other pink-haired person were walking. Roux was at his booth, looking terribly bored. Riv smiled when he spotted the Icy Frei. His need for warmth was suddenly less important than his urge to go see the other, and he floated away from the fire and towards the ice.
"Hi, Roux," he said as he came closer, smiling as he always did.

He was just about to exert his new frustraition upon his booth, fists clenched, ice slowly beginning to trail over the sign that informed everyone that this was a "Kiss or Die" booth. Something, however, caught his eye, and he was even more pleased when he heard a familiar voice speaking his name.
Roux looked up to see Rivener coming towards him, a lazy smirk spreading across his features. "Yes, to Roux me." Rivener couldn't possibly stay away for too long, it was obvious. Even with the need to have a 'little brother' the other Raeven had found his way back to the Ice Frei.
This pleased him very much.
He let his hair fall over his face slightly, platinum strands barely hiding the clear blue of his eyes as he stared out between them, lips pouting down in a mock frown. He was pleased, but he was also bored. Roux floated out from behind his booth, wings giving a small flutter as though they intended to take him airborn rather than just forward, before laying still like battered flags. He stopped a few feet in front of Rivener.
"....Bored." The word was carefully thought of and worded before spoken.

Rivener smiled as the other seemed pleased to see him. For Roux, this small evidence of emotion was like a torrent of happiness from a normal person, and this made Rivener both proud and happy. Earlier today he'd truly believed that the other didn't like him anymore...
When Roux came closer, Riv reached out a hand to touch the other's arm, wanting contact. He left his hand there when the other declared his boredom. "I'm a little bored too," he said. The Scorpion looked around for something to do.
Lucky Pan? No, they weren't allowed to play. It was owners only. Besides, how much fun could rolling dice be?
Refreshments? No, they would run into Eiry and the others again. Too many people.
The bonfire? Rivener liked this idea, but he doubted Roux would. He is an Ice Raevan, after all. Even the sunlight was almost too hot for poor Roux, Rivener remembered. The thought of the forgotten umbrella, their first meeting, made him smile.
The only thing left was the Tunnel of Love. Riv made a face. It looked rather tacky. However, it was inside so it wouldn't be so cold, and it might at least distract them both for a little while...
"Want to go in there?" he asked, pointing at the tunnel.

Roux looked dubiously at the Tunnel of Love that Rivener was pointing too. It looked tacky.. and ugly. Why would he want to go in there? He frowned, giving a small sigh as he shifted to move his arm from Rivener's touch - it wasn't that he didn't enjoy it to a degree.. he just.. didn't enjoy being touched so much. Besides, the motion was absent minded, and held no meaning behind it.
He looked around at the other things to do.. more kissing booths, definatly a no. Refreshments had that 'little brother' by it, not to mention, Roux noticed with a cold flare of rage, Gage. For a moment he seemed almost like he wanted to attack the green Frei before he turned his head to the side, eyes closing stubbornly.
He wanted to be as far away from that hideous abomination as possible. Roux began floating toward the Tunnel of Love, assuming Rivener would follow. He stopped beside one of the gaudy swan shaped boats... was he supposed to get IN it?
He gave a short, suffering sigh and moved to 'sit' in the boat on the far side, actually hovering a few inches above the seat. He glanced over with annoyance to Rivener, looking down at the space beside him expectantly.

"Ah.." Zeph smiled. This was very interesting. Absorbing the essence of what they were made of.... He needed to learn more. But for now, he felt he'd keep in the "shadows" sort of speak. He needed to talk to the right person for the other questions- the creator or the assistants themselves. He walked back to the Lucky Pan, scarfing one of the cookies down and drinking half the glass of lemonade. So, until he did spot one of the people- he'd roll dice.

Rivener indeed followed, after having watched Roux look around and obviously come to roughly the same conclusions about things as he had. The one mystery (because with Roux, there was always a mystery) was the Frei's reaction to someone over by the refreshments... Riv glanced over, but there were too many people crowded together, he couldn't tell which one had angered Roux so much.
Riv smiled as he "sat" next to Roux in roughly the same fashion. Once both were ready, the boat lurched into motion. For a moment, Rivener wondered how the thing knew to start moving... Ah, well.
"I hope this won't suck," Rivener muttered mostly to himself.
The little swan boat curved towards the entrance of the Tunnel of Love, and as the fake plastic "cave doors" opened to let them in, the plastic cherub near the entry opened its mouth to laugh, letting out a definately witchy-sounding cackle.
...This was certainly not a good start.

Zeph looked around, trying to spot people that looked as if they'd work for the lab. Zeph's gaze flitted past the refreshments booths, where he spotted a girl with pink hair, and other people and half-humans. Doubt in his mind told him that the girl or the man didn't work there, but something nagged his mind. Perhaps he should ask her anyways? Looks could be deceiving. Across from it, at the kissing booths, with a man wearing a lab coat, with horns on his head and spectacles. He looked rather nervous, but the lab coat hinted that he was the scientist, or maybe an assistant.

An elegant eyebrow curved upward at the sound of fake laughter and Roux sighed as they entered the faintly red and pink lit tunnel. The doors slid closed behind them and they started forward at a less than smooth pace.
Well... they were here now and it was still rather boring. Roux shifted a little in the seat, shoulder brushing against Rivener's. It was very close sitting.
They turned a corner and the doors behind them clanked shut. Music started, slow and warped at first, quickly speeding up to a sickeningly sweet, cheerful tune.
'I love you, you love me, let's sit up in the happy tree where we can be K-I-S-S-I-N-G! Love, love, love it makes the world turn 'round!'
Roux grit his teeth, staring blankly at the smiling moving plywood cutouts jerkily leaning toward each other, a man and a woman, to kiss. Fake white doves hung from strings, being blow by a fan. A mysterious black shape wavered and bounced along with them, it's wings large and webbed.
Beside Rivener the ice Frei gave an actual -shiver- of disgust.

Rivener was apalled at the insides of this thing. The song was sickening, everything looked like it had been made by five-year-olds. Rivener spotted the bat among the doves, and a sly snicker escaped him.
This was so bad, it was actually amusing.
The little swan boat lurched forward some more, and around another corner. Here, a coffin had been disguised as a cloud, and as they went past it, it popped open to spring out a cherub at them. One of the eyeballs fell out of the socket as the mechanical monstrosity bobbed back and forth, its childish giggling soundtrack winding down to a disturbing low before stopping.
Rivener laughed. He had the vague impression that Roux was perhaps getting annoyed with all this, but the Scorpion Frei himself couldn't help but find this all incredibly funny.

Aphismet Rivener pocketed the money from his client, and smiled at the other's rumbling stomach. Good thing he didn't do that himself. At the question about how he eats, Rivener smiled. He enjoyed questions about himself. "Actually, I don't eat. Raevans absorb nourishment from their essence... In my case, I absorb energy from being outside in the night." He pointed over to the other two Raevans in his booth. "Vyn absorbs from shadows, and my little brother Eiry absorbs..."
Rivener had turned and looked at Eiry, and spotted instantly the plush in his arms. That was... that was Lazarus's plush! That was the one Rivener had wanted! Frowning, Rivener suddenly forgot about the other man's question. He just stared at his brother and crossed his arms petulantly. "...not fair," he muttered. Eiry looked up with confusion at his big brother and hugged the doll closer to him. The frown wasn't that usual mocking big brother frown, so Eiry had no clue how to react. He looled down at his Laz plushie and then back up at his brother. Maybe he wanted to give it a hug too. Reaching up, Eiry went to push the plush doll into Rivener's arms but he got distracted and wandered away. Knitting his brows, Eiry hugged the doll back to his chest and then turned his attention back to the flowers. It was only when Eiry realized that Riv went to Roux again did the minty raevan notice. Frowning, Eirdirsceol hugged the Laz plushie tighter and tried to wibble wobble after them. They didn't notice him as they entered the tunnel and Eiry followed along hopefully. Maybe they would both like to hug the Lazzie plushie.

Another corner turned and they were at... a graveyard. It was decked out with ribbons and crei paper and hearts to try and disguise it. There was even a skeletal hand popping out of a grave, the fingers moved so that they said 'I love you' in sign language.
Roux gripped the edges of the boat, one eye giving a small twitch. The remaining feathers on his wings were ruffled in irritation. Rivener was laughing beside him but he just couldn't understand HOW.
They passed a section of wall with fake blood smeared all over, made into a rough heart shape.
Roux closed his eyes, a hand moving over to find something to distract himself with. Anything to block out the cheerful giggles and steadily eerily warping music. His fingers came in contact with Rivener's hair and he lightly began stroking it, letting his long slender, cool fingers pass over the silken strands absently, fingertips just barely brushing against one of Rivener's ears for a moment.

Tyson frowned, disappointed he wouldn't go for a fly. Rivener looked so strong! Surely he could carry him....
Lillian nudged her little brother able to tell he was bummed. She smiled down at him trying to make him feel cheery again. "Come on...if you flew with him then what would be the point of you creating the first jet pack? Hmmm? Besides, you're going to be a superhero one day! You'll be able to fly on your own by then."
Tyson laughed recalling the invention he hoped to build and his future job,"Yeah! You're right!"
Lillian nodded to him then looked back to Aphismet, "So you live out in the boons? Nope...you're right. We don't go there. But--"
As soon as Aphismet mentioned the park Tyson lunged at the man. Lillian stopped to watch her brother, hoping Aphismet wouldn't mind the boy's actions.
"Yes!! Yes! Yes! The park! You can meet Marmaduke! He pulls me around in my sled! He's HUGE too! Lillian! Can we? Can we go to the park with them? I wanna play in the snow! We can build forts! And have snowball fights! And make snowmen!! Come on! Please! Please!" Tyson wailed hugging Aphismet's legs, his pleading eyes targeted on his older sibling.
Lillian looked to Aphismet and sighed. There was no way out of this, Tyson was determined to go. Seeing it was a loosing battle if she said no, Lil nodded to the boy. Her eyes going back to Aphismet, hoping she wasn't blushing. 'Just play it cool Lil...dont sound too happy!'"Well...if you don't mind. We haven't been to the park in awhile. It would be nice to go spend some time there."

Rivener tried to hold back his laughter when he detected the other's displeasure, but when they turned the corner to reveal the tacky cemetary, Riv burst out laughing. A glance in the other direction revealed the blood-smeared heart shape, which only made him laugh more...
He was trying so hard not to laugh, but the silliness! Whoever thought this would work!?
Riv suddenly felt Roux's hands in his hair, and he spared a smile for the other, whose eyes were closed as though to block out the ridiculous ride. The brush of a finger against his ear was pleasant, but Rivener didn't read anything into it; Roux was simply trying to keep his mind off matters.
They were nearing the end of the tunnel; Riv could see the light of the bonfire where the exit door was badly sealed shut. As they neared it, the song drawing to its finale (thank god), an Aphrodite (which was in actuality a witch re-dressed in a toga, her crooked black hat still bolted on) swung down gracefully from one side of the tunnel, broke from its wire, and fell onto the front of the Swanboat with a loud Crash, blocking the little trolley's exit.
Riv reached over for Roux when the thing fell, hoping to protect him from the crash, but thankfully neither Raevan was in the horrible thing's way.
"Are you ok?" he asked, concerned. "Sorry I made you come in here, it's pretty stupid. Looks like we'll have to float out," he finished with an annoyed sigh.

Aphismet Ooomphed and nearly tipped over as his legs were tackled by the Human Cupcake. He laughed out loud and petted the boy's head again, listening to his chattering happily. "Of course I don't mind," Aph said to the pair. "I wouldn't have offered it if I didn't mean it," he said.
Although, he probably would have offered it even if he didn't mean it, since he was too polite not to, the man thought. Ah well, hopefully the others don't know this.
He grinned. "Not today, though," he said. "It's late, and I have to stay here and watch over my little brother and the Raevans. They'll probably be at the park too!" Aph said, looking down at the boy. "My little brother Isi is older than you, but I think you'll like him. He has a Raevan too, called Eiry! He's all minty green, have you seen him? We also have Rivener of course, and there's a singing whale, too. What kind of pet is Marmaduke?" Aph suddenly asked.

The final crash of the Aphrodite-Witch tore it. The thought of any rebellion promptly left his mind as Rivener put his arms around him. Roux blinked, cheek crushing against Rivener's shoulder in the small space of the swan boat before he was able to straighten out again.
He sighed, glaring down at the witch. They were ALMOST out and now he'd have to put some effort into it. At least the music had stopped.
...Actually.. it was rather nice in here now that everything was stopped and mostly dark, save the light from the exit. He frowned before shaking his head. "No stay."
What exactly they'd do he didn't know or care, it was just -away- from everything and everyone else.
