Jayara had opened her mouth to make a few choice words about how well this power would have held him up had he hadn't been found, but they caught in her throat when the knight began to speak of the bond.

If there hadn't been a moment before that she'd sworn never to be bonded to a dragon, she swore a silent oath then as she dropped the items from her hands to hold his shoulders, concerned that he might slip into some sort of shock or spasm.

When he came back to, she sat back, listening to the knight's words, understanding clearly that this man held no love for the unknown dragon behind her. While she believed the brief account, she was troubled by it. Something wasn't adding up.

"I need one question answered before I can join you with the intention of forgetting that dragon," the ranger said with a serious look. "I had come this way meaning to find someone. At the beginning of the fight, was there a mage here - someone in dark leathers about yay high with tan skin and wine red hair? Even if he simply ran from the scene," she said asking knight, "or just passed by you on the road?" she turned to ask of Lynx.

-Crevan then looked off in the distance and felt a chill go down his spine and muttered allowed in human tung-
"Something doesn't feel right, ...."

-Ashlynn stepped back a bit and then knelt down patting Crevan on his head-
"Dragon what doesn't feel right?"

-Crevan shook his head as he thought she understood me that time.-
"I have a bad feeling about your father leaving for the village now...and ... since you can understand me now ... please call me Crevan."

-Ashlynn nodded in agreement and thought for a moment.-
"Then we shall take a trip till things become a bit safer."

-Crevan looked at her in question, as to how her thoughts jumped around a lot-

-Ashlynn left and went inside the house for a while and then came out wearing some slacks, a tunic, long boots with a cloak, with a knife in the boot and bow quiver on her back-
"K Crevan ... I have herd rumors about this Man name Gorknik who lives at the base of the northern mountains. He believes that dragons are gods and will give gifts to any dragon who calls on him." "He might be able to offer us a place to stay with out to much trouble with the people that look down upon dragons. I left a note to Father he knows where he is located."

-Crevan thought for a moment.-

-Ashlynn then laughed-
"You don't have to go.. it's just I feel like I've met you before and you should know what I know... and Gorknik does seem like the one to be able to help."

-Crevan looked at her and she looked really concern so Crevan agreed to go let alone it was a good enough reason to get out of the area that started to make him feel nervous.-

-They both then headed out North towards the mountains. Quickly as possible and hopefully no trouble awaits their journey that they have yet to begin.

Vastina didn't even turn to see what was causing the massive shadow coming down on them. "Keep running! Must keep running! Find shelfter..." She was more talking to herself but also to the others with her. One thing she knew was that she didn't want to be caught by a Fallen. Just thinking about the looks she got at the gathering place made her feet move faster as she looked from side to side trying to find a hiding place. Rue only was able to hold on at this point.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There was a shadow falling over his vision as Risen still struggled against giving up. Yet there was nothing that he could. His body wouldn't have it. As much as he had been able to raise off the ground he fell back down and this time he didn't have the strength to get back up again. The shadow grew in density and his eyes became heavy. The last he thought of as his eyes closed finally was the feeling of wind under a pair of wings carrying him further then he had ever hoped.

"No," Lynx replied. "We didn't see anyone here except these dragons and the knights." She noticed the purple dragon who had been struggling to rise, as he fell back to the ground, and knew that her and Midori's efforts to save him hadn't been enough. The young woman's heart grew heavy at this realization of her failure to save the other's life.

Blade was just about to answer the man in armor, but the looming shadow that was coming from behind was probably something they needed to worry about more. Without a word, he nodded at what Vastina had said before picking up the pace to try and get out of there as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, Astalder glanced over his shoulder briefly, only to see a familiar fallen coming right at him. Letting out a yelp, he turned and hurried to catch up with the others.

While they ran, they frantically looked around to see if they could find some sort of hiding place in the area.

Risen was suspended in a dark place, above what appeared to be a well. It was brimming with red liquid and images swirled in it, possibilities of futures to come. They showed him dying in a myriad of ways until finally it settled on the one possibility that had come to pass - the body of a dragon laying on a road, a broken Knight, a ranger, and some others the only witnesses to his death. Then they faded, the body eroded with time, and eventually even the bones crumbled away into dust.

Then whatever force that was holding Risen in place vanished and his life essence fell, into the well of his own blood.

"Come," a voice said from somewhere above the surface, "Arise in whatever form you desire. This is the Blessed Path and reality has no meaning here. So rise up and follow, seeker of the ancient knowledge. The time has come."

-----------------------------------

"Younglings!" one of the fallen roared as the three descended, "Easy pickings! If we can't have humans-"

The three hit the ground hard and before the dragon could continue his sentence Tarketh's tail snapped like a whip, embedding the spike attached to it just between the fallen's eyes. He stood motionless, stunned, as blood dripped down his muzzle and then Tarketh tore the barb free.

"The paralysis will wear off in a few hours," he said mildly, "Anyone else care to think about killing the younglings, now?"

He smiled and glanced to where they were scattering. Hopefully his little display would remind his companions that he did not tolerate the killing of young dragons in his presence. The adults were fair prey... but everything else was not. After all, there was still time to corrupt them and a dead youngling would never become one of their ranks. So he roared instead.

"Run, cowards! We burn this village and all others like it - take that message to whoever sent you! The dragon-killer Yvette's lands will BURN and her people will die for her crimes!"

-The man in the scales had to steady himself as the larger dragons landed and he griped his sword tight and listen to what was said.-
"They need a witness then..."
-The man in the scales then thought as the young dragons ran and looked at dragon that spoke ... he seemed to be the leader but what is this talk of Yvette being a dragon killer, he lightly touched the blue dragon scales that he wore as armor, and then stepped out slowly still looking at the dragon not forgetting about the other dragons he gripped his sword tightly. As He spoke towards the older dragons.-

"Why not Destroy Yvette's home, rather than ours for her crime against your kin. This town used to live with a dragon till he was killed by the antics of a black dragon."

-The man in the scales was indeed in fear but he still needed to know answers, though this was probably not his smartest move. None the less the call from the dragon was a taunt as if no one was willing to risk facing the dragon.-

Tarketh eyed the man over, noting the armor he wore. After a moment the Fallen's muzzle curled into a smile and he walked towards the man, lashing his tail and chuckling low in his throat.

"You think any of these care whose lands they burn? They seek blood. The Knights denied them what they wanted and so they take vengeance out elsewhere. That is their way. I do not care a bit who lives or dies from here out. Me... I only seek a human. One old enough to survive. And judging by what you made your armor of - yes. I think you'll survive a long time."

The last part he said in a whisper and then laughed.

"Go ahead and burn the village!" he cried to his companions, "I want this one for myself!"

Blade couldn't help but look to see what happened when he heard a fairly loud thud from behind. He kept on running, but as he looked over his shoulder, he saw Tarketh standing over one of the other fallen dragons, as well as heard what he had to say.

Saved by Tarketh again...

Shaking his head to himself as the fallen dragon's words echoed in his head, he faced forward once more and kept on running. It wasn't so much of cowardice, than knowing when not to fight so that they may live another day and possibly do more.

Astalder continued to run by his friend's side, not paying mind to the words the dragons had shouted. Though what had caught his attention was the voice of the armored man they had encountered moments ago.

He must have a deathwish...

The dark dragon sighed while keeping up the pace, not slowing down even as they passed the borders of the village.

-The man in the scales stood his ground and listen carefully to what the dragon said though he only caught the word burn in the whisper and his guess from what he knew about them not caring what lands they burn. He said to himself 'Ashley you have a death wish'. and then looked at all the dragons as he spoke.- "Truthfully I don't think any dragon cares for a human till it choses to try to work with one. And as for all this fluffy stuff about Knights. In all Technicality you fear them and chose not to work with the knights on their terms, just the same for this Yvette. That is why you strike havoc here in hope that we the towns people plea for this person that has killed your kin will kill you and more of your kin, to possibility draw this person from their home lands to your territory." -The man in the scales made a slight chuckle knowing him fighting more than one dragon was near hopeless, but the longer he kept them in conversation the better.-

"So, no sighting for you," the ranger said, acknowledging Lynx while finishing up the construction of the cot, zigzaging a line of rope to create the carrier part for the final touch. "How about you, Knight?"

So far it sounded like her original guess. He either stuck around for the landing of the Knights or took off right away, Jay thought as she began to put her knife, bow, and bags away. But the rocks everywhere...

The only place she had seen a disturbance in the earth like that was where she had come across nameless guy and Avalene, but it hadn't been this disturbed.

Jay positioned the cot behind the knight's head and prepared to drag the bulk of the man onto the length of the cloth. With unknown parts of his chest broken up, it was the only way she was taught that would put the least amount of weight on everything. Standing with a leg on each wooden pole to keep the cot from sliding around, the ranger crouched down and slid her hands under his shoulders.

"Ready, Sir?"

"You talk too much," Tarketh yawned, "I think I'll have you cut out your own tongue after binding you to my will."

And then he half-turned, putting the bulk of his body towards the man, snapping his long tail with the paralytic barb towards the man. It was a crude blow, not really intending to pierce his armor or hit exposed flesh unless Tarketh got very lucky. Around him the Fallen dragons stopped and watched the fight with interest, only a small few pausing to ignite the houses of the villagers. And no one paid any attention to the fleeing dragonlings.

-----------------------------

"Unh... we were tracking the Prophetess... that dragon was all we saw." He grimaced and nodded, carefully exhaling and forcing himself to relax despite the pain. "Yes. But before you take me to a town you'd best cut my tabard off and discard it. Not everyone looks fondly upon dragons, not even the Knights, and I'll need to be safe from them until my fellow knights return to bring me back to Genyiel."

He left the last part unspoken. Assuming he was alive and well enough to survive a rough flight on his dragon's back.

-The man just raise up his sword where the blade was flat facing the barb and he was still holding the sword only by the hilt with his hands where his focus was still on the main dragon.- "I didn't agree to anything, I just asked you to not burn this village." -The man in the scales spit at the ground almost trying to taunt the dragon, not saying anything just watching the dragon's next move as he got in a defensive stance slowly trying to get away from the dragon's reach by stepping back now.-
-one foot slides back as the other fallows, a very good foot work method to prevent tripping.-
