Evan wouldn't have minded their conversation at all- if it didn't involve what was waiting for them ahead. And now he heard that there wasn't just one waiting for them. It made him wonder what else Hakan was keeping from him- or if he wasn't, what else he himself was missing.

Either way, he didn't comment in return. Focused on the path ahead of him and looking for any signs of Karasu's return (or anything else that wasn't all that friendly), Evan kept his thoughts to himself for the moment. Everything would be most likely revealed in due time, though he still felt the need to ask.

He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with all this.

All of it seemed far too easy.

They were being tracked along their route- he knew that. Loki knew they were here, and most likely knew what to expect- Evan knew that as well. What he didn't know was why they hadn't been stopped by now. As soon as the storm was torn apart, alarm bells should have gone off at the tower atop the mountain, thus prompting another distraction almost immediately.

He was becoming increasingly certain that something else was going to bar their path- something far worse and far more of an obstacle than just a wandering snow storm that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

((Didn't see any reason for a major post, at least not yet.))

Melissa followed along, her thoughts were on her new from and how soon she could get to be human okay. Freki seemed to be offended that Melissa was not pleased at her wolf form, and refused to speak. Her paws were trembling slightly, she didn't know why, but she felt like something was going to happen.

((Well this came to me in a blinding flash of light.. xp okay it was actualy a dizzy spell after coughing my head off... but same diff blaugh ))

Karasu suddenly dropped back to her phisical form a little ways up the trail.
look out...it was only a ghost of a whisper on the winds past Evan's ears, and it was the only warning that the party would recive as death swooped down on them from above.

Hurroks are nasty creatures to begin with, add to them barbarians weilding spears and you have claws, fangs and besekers with wings!
Seven of the wingged horse-like predetors attacked with enough persision to be thought of as an arial arts show, the party might have thought that the trees gave them enough cover to not have to worry about attacks from above...but again, something or someone was interphering with the natural order of things!

The air arround them was deathly still, and Karasu appeared to be unable to come any closer, Evan would find as well that he was being blocked from turning the wind itself against the creatures!

Karasu~Lady Raven~
look out...

That was all the warning Evan needed as he drew his sword in a flash. The trees were far behind them now, so retreating to cover would not do them much good right now. And then, they descended...

Karasu~Lady Raven~
Hurroks are nasty creatures to begin with, add to them barbarians weilding spears and you have claws, fangs and besekers with wings!

Seven of the wingged horse-like predetors attacked with enough persision to be thought of as an aerial arts show. I thought so. Figured he'd send something.

One of the creatures descended, rider screaming something incomprehensible. The Raven was having none of that, so he lifted his right hand towards an incoming target...

Karasu~Lady Raven~
The air around them was deathly still, and Karasu appeared to be unable to come any closer. Evan would find as well that he was being blocked from turning the wind itself against the creatures!

...And nothing moved. No wind, no explosion of energy, nothing. He had to roll to his left side as one of them came barelling at him, a six foot long spear extended and aimed towards the general area of his head, passing mere inches from the intended target.

s**t! What the hell!?

He couldn't use it... a quick scan of the area and it was found that the air... just wasn't moving. At all. Dead air meant no wind attacks. No wind attacks meant that it would be much more difficult to exterminate these pests, and it also explained why Karasu could not approach any further.

Damn you, Loki!

Another one came swooping in, and Evan dodged again. This was getting annoying... and he needed an exit. The only exit that he could think of at the moment would take him only a brief moment to get ready. Just because the air didn't move... didn't mean that it wasn't his ally.

Evan quickly pushed his heels into the ground, twisting his hips and waist in order to do so. The air pressure around his person condensed, tightened, hardened. The Gale Force Greaves and Gauntlets were active, a pale blue aura surrounding them.

Evan's stomach twisted into a knot at that point- they were coming again. Seeing as he could now do such a thing, he used the energy that he now had control of to leap upwards for a good ten feet. The horseman that was behind him... was now underneath him. Evan's sword flashed downwards as he descended, and the barbarian would be carved open, the sword stopping just below his waist.

After tossing the former rider off of the winged creature (and off of his sword), Evan took the reins and attempted to force the beast under his control...

((Ganked.))
