Her fire-type, as strong as he may be, would not stand to the rock-types and ground-types Roark had there. She smiled slightly, an almost unnoticeable upward twitch of the corner of her mouth. "And you could use some more training before we get there anyway."

"Fighting types?" Sol repeated coolly, a touch of skepticism coloring her tone. "Such as?" It was obvious that Sammy was new to this region; there were no fighting types in Oreburgh. There were a couple of water types, but grass types existed in the Eterna Forest, which would work just as well. "Besides, you'll need to go through Eterna Forest anyway to get the second badge," Sol added pointedly, finally playing her Trump Card. Her eyes narrowed; hopefully with Sammy's lack of knowledge of the region she wouldn't know of the cycling route.
Internally, Sol sighed. She had just remembered a certain, very important fact about Eterna. Galactic's second base of operations was located there, or so she had been told. Suddenly she wasn't quite as eager to reach the second gym's town.

This time, Sol managed to control her wince. Yeah, she was gonna be in for hell when they reached Veilstone. "You might want to get used to the Eterna Forest first," she counted smoothly. "It's very confusing to those who don't know it. And we can still beat the first gym even after going to Eterna Forest." Her eyes flickered with a new thought. The third gym was in Veilstone. That...was...just...wonderful. Yah, she was screwed when they got there.

Damn, damn, damn. She was just digging herself into a deeper and deeper hole. Her only hope now was that when Sammy found out she wouldn't pull out a dagger and just stab her then and there.
"Sure," she said, inwardly grimacing. A coward, a traitor, a liar, that's all she was. How could she even consider doing that to Lunaris or Andromeda? They were her...friends. But so was Sammy. And Sammy was her first- and only- friend not of the team. Perhaps...perhaps when they got there, they wouldn't recognize her...Fat chance. And yet...she couldn't convince herself to do anything other than lie.
And so Sol agreed, though she didn't do the high-five. What would happen when they got to Veilstone? Only time would tell. Perhaps they could get out of there before Sammy realized that there was a base there and before Team Galactic realized they were there. But the word perhaps came up in this equation like a dangerous unknown variable. Ugh.

Sol smiled slightly; she was rather stubborn, but in this case it paid out. "Come on, then," she said lightly, turning and beginning to pace in the general direction of Floaroma. "I'll try to get a shinx there, and possibly a misdreavus in Eterna Forest, and then we'll head back, alright?" Sol glanced back ever so slightly. Sammy was rather childish, the way she pouted like that, but no one was perfect, right?
