"I never said it was." Rathios pointed out.
"All the evidence pointed to me." Durithill added. "But that was mainly to fool you. It doesn't matter much to the angels which of us did it, they now have an excuse to use their full military force to hunt us down and kill us. Not that they could." he added with a slight laugh. The seriousness in his eyes betrayed him though.
"Durimiros has proven he's capable of killing armies of angels before."
"And those angels in the plaza earlier weren't exactly unarmed." Durithill noted. Rathios sighed.
"Quite a predicament." he said. Durithill's expression suddenly turned serious as he stared full at Raine.
"My father contacted you." he said. It wasn't a question.

"And you know this how?" Raine replied, tilting her head, placing a gentle finger against her chin. Her left hand was set at the elbow of her right arm as some sort of support. Honestly, that was the next topic the council woman was going to touch upon, however they seemed to know everything now didn't they? Perhaps they would have a better idea then approaching the angels about the incident, for just dropping in trying to convince them... The idea could be better planned.

"Your ways of communication amuse me.." Raine said with a grin, both of her arms dropping down to her sides more casually. With a few more steps into the room, the council woman pulled two well-crafted chairs from a large table in the center of the only open space on this end of the room. Pushing them towards Durithill.. sitting down in one of them, Raine set her hands in her lap while she crossed one of her legs over the other properly.

Rathios took the extra chair to mean he was supposed to sit as well and sat next to Raine. Sometimes it was hard to remember that he was blind.
"Every member of the Tomsaruka family is linked to each other by more then blood." Durithill said, leaning back in his armchair and resting his head on his hand. "And with only two members on the family left, that 'power' is strengthened. It's the reason Durmiros was able to mask my presence and make his appear like mine." he said, explaining the early confusing. "It also works a little in reverse. I can tell sometimes where he is and what he's doing. And let's just say he made no effort to conceal the fact that he was with you."

Raine listened to Durithill carefully, taking in every piece of information he was giving her about how the remaining members of the Tomsaruka family could... Communicate, so to say. Everything made perfect sense... Except for the last bit. Why would Durimiros want to speak with her in the first place, not to mention not bothering to conceal it?

"Why do you think he spoke with me openly?" Raine asked, her eyes settled on Durithill. Perhaps he had a good answer to this.. He seemed to know much more then she had.. Perhaps it would ahve made life a whole lot easier if he was on the council rather then she. The seraph's eyes shifted from Duirthill-- who seemd plenty relaxed-- to Rathios whom sat in the chair she placed down for him.

"However.. Considering I would have told you anyways..." Shiero began, mumbling lowly in thought. She didn't know nearly as much as Durithill had, which made things rather difficult in the long-run..

"For the same reason he pinned the slaughter of the angels on me." Durithill said. "He's more interesting in seeing you go insane then actually killing you." Durithill sat up in his chair and stared directly into Raine's eyes. "What did he talk to you about?" he asked, unblinking. "What did he want?"

Raine remained quiet for a moment, averting her eyes away from his before she spoke, as if summarizing the entire situation and choosing the proper words to say. Once the wording was decided, she rose her eyes to meet with his again before taking in a small breath and beginning.

"I thought you knew," she said with a small, loving grin,

"to begin, he portrayed himself as you and tried to act as you did.." Shiero's hands moved a bit awkwardly in her lap, trying not to miss a single moment of what happenend only a short time ago. Her smile fell into a more serious expression as she continued, skipping the not-so-necessary parts.

"He mentioned how killing was fun for you, how you've pretended otherwise." The same smirk pressed against the corner of her lips with a bit of a laugh.

"He was quite easy to see through I must say.. However, he did come out and directly tell me that he impersonated you in the Realm of the Angels... I asked him a few questions out of rage, my apologies." The woman's brows knitted into more of a concerned look as she exhaled, shifting her hands abruptly to a bit chair remaining at her sides. It seemed like she was done, for her eyes closed as she lowered her head. However, her eyes snapped open quickly, her arm outstretching, as if to grab his attention.

"Oh... And apparently that story you told me--" she began slowly,

"he told me-- I mean... Was it false?" The council woman leaned forward a bit, her head tilted in wonder much like a confused animal of sorts, trying to understand the human language. Her expression shifted again, this time it seemed more.. angry, or disappointed so to say.

"There is a slight chance he could be correct," she mentioned,

"but knowing me, I would like to prove him wrong." A faux smile pressed her features as she waited for Durithill's reply patiently. Perhaps she should have listened... But then again, that would have been helping Durimiros, wouldn't it?

Durithill closed his eyes and exhaled slowly out through his nose. "Looks like my father felt like telling you the truth this time." he said, half opening his eyes to stare downward. "If you're talking about the story of what happened to my family, yes it was false." he said, opening his eyes the rest of the way to stare directly into Raine's eyes. He pulled the translation of the book he'd found out of his cloak and handed it to her. "This is a translation of a book I found in the Forbidden Realm. It details what happened during that period of my family's life. You can read it for yourself."

Raine remained silent. She sat in the chair unmoving, her hands moved, being positioned delicately in her lap as her crossed leg shifted as well, both of her feet were flat on the ground. With her knees together, her back completely erect, a single word passed her lips in the silence that lingered between the two.

"Well.." As he extended his arm, the book in his grasp, Shiero simply shook her head, waving it away. She didn't want to read it, she didn't want to know. If the first one was false-- a lie-- then she didn't care to hear the real one.

Without another word, the council woman stood up, the backs of her knees pushing the wooden chair backwards slightly. Her lips were pursed together tightly, as if she was hiding something, or holding something back. By the expression on her face, she was upset-- angry with him. Why would he lie to her in the first place? Clearly he didn't know what happened, so why didn't he tell her that?

The room still remained deathly quiet, her retreating footsteps along the mirrored marble floor seemed almost deafening. She didn't want to be here, not now. She couldn't be, not when she was angry, and definately not when she had work to do. If Durithill couldn't see that there was something wrong, Rathios definately would have. After all, Raine did work with him for quite a while... Her silence over the topic immediatly told one that she was not pleased.

Durithill sighed and put the book back in his cloak, getting up at the same time. Rathios quickly stood as well. "Tend to council matters." Durithill said quietly to him before following quickly after Raine. His slightly longer stride allowed him to eventually catch up with her and he place his hand on her shoulder, gripping it gently. "Raine..." he said, stopping so that he wouldn't have to chase and talk. "Think back. The story itself may have been a lie, but I didn't technically tell you anything false." he began, hoping she'd look at him. "I chose my words carefully. Remember, I said "five realms were destroyed in the war between the Tomsaruka's", not "the Tomsaruka's destroyed five realms". And it's true that five realms were destroyed."

Raine continued to walk, the only thing stopping her abruptly was none other then Durithill's hand stopping her small strides. She didn't reply, she simply remained silent. Her breathing was shallow and slow. Eventually with a reply, her eyes on the ground just ahead of her, a portion of Durithill's cloak could be seen from the corner of her eye.

"If it isn't the truth, it's a lie..." She replied quietly, her voice splightly shaky from the welling emotion within her chest. For the time being, she remained calm.

"You knew the information you told me was incorrect, you knew exactly that you didn't know what happened... Rather than telling me you didn't know what happened, you made up a... A tale of sorts." A ragged breath was inhaled as she took a break from speaking, if she continued, she knew she would say things she never meant to say in the first place. The last thing Raine wanted to do, was act on ambition.

Durithill sighed. "Raine, I couldn't tell you that version of the story was false." he said, staring at the back of her head. He stayed back, though. "From the time I could understand language, I was told to tell everyone that version of the story, even if I trusted them. You have to understand, Raine. Think how it would be. People already hated the demons, and if they began to lose faith in the angels it might cause chaos in the realms." He paused for a moment. "And I didn't want to tell you that story was false untill I knew just what happened. Raine, this is exactly what Durimiros wanted when he told you the story was false."

Shiero's throat felt like it began to close, it was getting difficult to breathe properly. She knew very well this was what Durimiros wanted, every second stalled is what he wanted. Pulling her arms around her waist, the council woman's eyes reamined on the ground. He had a reason to do so... But why couldn't he have said nothing instead of a fairytale?

"You shouldn't have told me to begin with.." She mumbled in reply. Clenching her teeth together to square of fher jaw, it was quite obvious she still was rather ticked off with the whole situation. Her line of sight, however, rose from the ground and was casted directly before her down the hallway. Her fingers dug into her arms; she was frustrated.

"Really?" Durithill said, moving slightly closer. "And said what? 'I can't tell you?' You know you would have pestered me 'till I gave you an answer." he said, a lighter tone entering his voice. He took the book out of his cloak again and slipped it into her arms. "If you want to know the real tale, read it. If not, burn it. Either way, we have to stop Durimiros and a war."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:56 pm

"I would have given up if you conti--" She paused mid-sentence. His voice has softened greatly, he stepped closer and the book was now settled in her arms. Exhaling, Shiero's eyes closed for a moment. She was defeated, her defences built up around her were torn down with ease by the man she was hiding from... At the moment at least. She was surprised he didn't abandon her; leave her to think and breath; cool down. Opening her eyes slowly, Raine turned to face him, however, her eyes were down casted away from his face. But she had to look at him, she had to show him some common decency. He, after all, chased her down rather then sitting back, waiting for her to crawl back in apology.

"You're right..." She began, shifting her eyes up from his chest to meet with his face. Her azure eyes seemed to immediatly smile. That may have been what she was afraid of... Everything she was upset with him about seemed to melt awa suddenly.

"You're always right..."

Durithill smiled. "No I'm not." he said with a slight laugh. He loved seeing the smile in her eyes. He always did, for it always brightened his day, no matter how bad it was. "But I seem to be getting better at it, don't I?" He grinned, which looked a little odd since he almost never did. So much bad was usually happening that he rarely smiled, and when he did it was usually only a small smile to show he found something pleasing, rather then genuine happiness. He stepped forward and embraced her, something they hadn't done in a while. "C'mon." he whispered in her ear. "Let's try to save a couple races."
