Penden Zel-- Oh, I didn't realize why you had him have red eyes or how that was supposed to work. Is that condition more likely to occur with inbreeding? If so perhaps we can help explain it that way. However I also think that he has plenty of handicap as is and I promise to torture your character. mrgreen Yes, all genetic exceptionalities are more common when there is inbreeding involved, as long as they're somewhere in the genome (look at the royal families in Western Europe). It just takes one fellow without pigment in his eyes high up in the bloodline and after about two generations, it'll hit commonly. It's recessive, too, so he could have two normal-seeming carrier parents and end up with the funky eyes. Also means that two red-eyed parents = red-eyed child and red-eyed parent + carrier = 50% chance red-eyed, 50% chance carrier and red-eyed parent + non-carrier = carrier. It sounds like the study of genetics involved in this campaign are pretty primitive, though, so I imagine people would either scratch their heads and say "wtf?" when it happened or actively try to breed them for the night vision (which isn't actually any better, just quicker to adjust... unless the lack of ability for the pupils to restrict bleaches the retna, like in sunlight, then they're just fooked... and the way we usually breed for recessive traits involves the original one with it mating with one of his/her offspring. demadaha Methinks mr. shotar hath forgotten me thread. cry OMG kill-- I mean, PM him! Zel, it could be a gene appearing in the more northern areas of Feretris. I think they'd be so concerned about breeding magic that they would neither try to breed the red eyes nor try not to.

I love zel's character, too, and hope that I am not boring him with this long journey. His character (rightfully) choses to do so little but I feel obligated to give him the chances any way lol

Life here has been really busy, with the ending of this semester of school and all, as well as increase hours at work.
I think I shall wait a bit longer on my post, seen as I am at a good resting point for the moment. If you need me to post soon for some plans, let me know and I will post then.
Just hopping I can wait long enough for classes to end for a while. They will end as of Wednesday, to give you all a time table.
