How good is a Ravager at absorbing fire opposed to a Talos.

A ravager is like a Raider, only with tinfoil coating it.
Terrible, use a Talos to absorb fire. But of course, the Ravager does have 3 Disintergraters or Dark Lances...

The Ravager has one big perk: It can survive AP3 weaponry. Technically, a Talos is vulnerable to the Bane Wolf's chemical spray. If using a Talos, I'd suggest to build a Superfleet Archon (Or put him on a Jetbike) with a Webway portal. Get him in close so that you can deploy your "heavies" directly into the enemy's ranks.

Im really feeling that AP3 bonus now... The only thing I dont like about the Talos is that is so random. By that I mean I'd rather not get mowed down by my own unit.

That rule makes the Talos shoot at the closest 6 ENEMY models (yes, if a sergant is in range he'll shoot at him individually), it will never shoot at yours.
