I begin walking with them, letting Uri take the lead. I turn to the cleric, asking"Do you happen to know anything about this Saint? St. Bethesda I believe is their name? If you do, that knowledge could be helpful."

Action Summary:
Uri, leading the way down the hallway, has fallen into an unseen pit trap.
Uri lies 20 feet below you, in the pit, dead.
Current situation:
You have traveled about 50 feet down the hallway when Uri fell in the pit trap. The hallway is very roughly hewn here, and extends about 50 more feet past the trap to a closed wooden door. The pit is as wide as the hallway, and about 10 feet in length, so it blocks further passage down this hall unless the trap door can be secured or another way to bypass it is found.
Everyone should make a spot check.

I see Uri fall, and stop quickly. My first thought being on what we can do to save Uri, I realize there are more immediate problems (he isn't getting any deader heh), I look around, keeping the Uri's danger in the back of my head.

Sense Galvin was behind Uri, he runs to the the edge of the pit.
"URI OH GODS URI!"
He shouts down into the pit.
"Rope we need rope now, anybody? ROPE!!!"
He then starts to tear through his things. He pulls out his own rope, jugdeing the lenght and deepth of the rope and pit he has 10 feet of rope and 20 feet of pit.
He then pull pulls out his bed roll tearing it to srips and knotting it to make it stronger, he ties it to to the of his rope giving him about 6 ft more of length, even adding his extra shrit to the lot giving it a foot or two of more length.
He looks down at the pit then to the others.
"Hold on to the rope I will go down and get Uri"
He strips him self of all his gear to make himself lighter.

I look down at the pit, and back up at the ranger "your enthusiasm is very honorable, but he's impaled down there, you'd have to like...pull him off. That's going to be very hard to do."

"in case you forgot, we are sort of trapped down here. Do you suggest we carrying the corpse with us while trying to find the way out? His soul has left this world, all you are going after is a shell. Would you carry around the skin a snake has shed? If you wish to honor the soul of Uri, honor it in memory. The body is but a vessel that the spirit uses in this world. Once it has departed that body, it has no use for it, and the body has become unimportant. There is no reason to risk your life for it."

Galvin grips the the side of the pit thightly looking down, his eyes full of sorrow as he looks at Uri's body.
"You are right, he is gone. I am sorry."
He agthers is things again, putting on his gear. He stands up, and looks across the pit.
" How do we cross?"

I kneel down next to the pit and say a little blessing to guide his spirit, and then look around the pit, gathering as much information about the pit as I can with just my eyes.
((I'd actually like to take 20 if I can, and from my understanding of the situation I should be able too, but in case there's a reason I'm not aware of that prevents me I'm going to roll to make things faster.))
2+2=4 ((wow, what's with all the 2s today. Oh well, if I can take 20, that roll didn't even matter.))

Lets wait a moment for everyone else to attempt their spot checks before I post the results of your check. Since there is nothing rushing you taking 20 is fine, so your 2nd check will be at 22.

((yeah, I thought it would be alright, I even checked the book about taking 20 to make sure. But still had to ask, and I figured posting with a roll would be easier than saying it then waiting, then having to make a new post to roll))

Arazil hooks his mace onto his belt then walks over to the edge of the pit. He kneels down on the side of the pit and whispers a silent prayer for the departed soul of Uri. He stands up knods his head and proceeds to look around

Upon seeing the monk activily look around the hall, Arazil begins trying to think about any information he can about St. Bethesda

About 3 hours have passed by since you ventured down, as well as you can reckon the time down here. It is most likely daylight outside now.
After looking around concertedly near the pit, you eventally discover a hidden door in the rough-hewn wall. Unfortunatley it lies mostly over the gaping hole in the floor. The door is made of the same rough stone as the walls, and looks quite heavy, it opens inward.
Jeron 2 Knowledge (religion): 4 + 2 skill mod = 6 total
Arazil redface thinks back, trying to remember anything he can. He can remember hearing about an obsure Order of St. Bethesda that resides near Amn, but cannot remember any other details.
