The Fallen's wings shifted, slightest surprised by Verve's adamant rebuttal. They fluttered after her yet, only a few paces behind as the Chimera assaulted the pile of bracelets. "Sorry," the short-haired Nightmare apologized a bit softer, watching Verve for a moment to judge just how badly they struck a nerve. However, the Chimera had seemed to quickly recompose themselves.
As Verve questioned the magical snowballs, Sprout tilted their head. The Fallen took one, grinning the slightest. "Maybe not crafts," the Fallen agreed, giving one a squeeze before pushing it a bit forcefully against Verve's shoulder. It crumbled like real snow and Sprout laughed. "I think they're just meant for getting each other cold."
It was slow progress, but bit by bit Silas was starting to feel a tiny bit more comfortable with this newfound companion. Glad to see that his suggestions weren't being received negatively, he mimicked the motion that the other Freshling did, also crawling along on his knees. The little fox that was now following him did the same! or something similar, rather... holding its fluffy tail up high, and army crawling along its belly.
Nodding in confirmation to Caper, Silas outstretched his own little hand further to show the crumbs to the bird, going still after inching a bit closer, "gotta wait n-now..." he quietly whispered, eyes keeping glued on the avian.

- ( 20 ) - The lunar fey considered her answer with an contemplative little nod. "Huh, I've never seen anyone knit with a loom. I've been aware of knitting needles of various sorts, but I've not seen one in use. It must have been quite a bonding experience. My mother taught me how to play the mandolin. She has been playing since she was little and the music always sounded so lovely to me, so she taught me what she knew. My folks even bought me a mandolin of my own to take with me while I'm here for school and such." The possible offer of a future handmade gift had him breaking out in a big grin. "Aw, Cam, that would be lovely! Don't feel as though you're obligated to do so. I'd hate for you to feel put upon. Seeing your work would be plenty fine." A scarf would certainly be nice in this cooler time of year. Fig walked along with Cam to the Drunk-A-Nixie booth. Her answer to his question relieved him greatly. "Oh! Oh, good!" He folded his hands together while he watched her make her attempt. "Good try, Cam. That was a close shot." Taking a ball from the booth host, Fig waved to the nixie sitting up on the platform. Making sure he was behind the line, the fey threw the ball at the target. At first, he thought he had aimed too high or hadn't thrown hard enough, but his judgement was proven incorrect when the ball struck the target hard enough to drop the platform, sending the nixie into the water! Fig gasped, backing up instinctively from the splash. The expression of the dunked nixie made him laugh. "That was fun, thank you for that."
Looking to Cam, he shifted his weight from foot to foot. "What shall we do now?"

- ( 2 ) - Sami had to wait a moment while her caretaker got a cup of coffee for themselves. Very near to the place she was waiting was a display of jingly antlers. Spotting her caretaker at the front of the line, she bobbed over to the antlers and collected a black and silver one. Quickly returning to her spot, the hybrid donned the antlers with a delighted titter and a shake of her head to make the bells jingle. A nice acquisition!
- ( 14 ) - Endzela came across a table covered in books. Skimming the wide variety of reading material, she took her time looking from cover to cover. The demon paused when her gaze settled upon a certain volume. Quirking an eyebrow, a tiny impish grin teased at the corners of her mouth. Taken by the Chimera, eh? A saucy little read, why not? Becoming the very image of nonchalance, she slipped the book into her stocking and strode away looking very pleased and amused with herself.
Odessa licked her lips as she nibbled on her cotton candy. She giggled as some stuck on her nose and had to lift her hand to wipe it away. It was really good! A lot better than she imagined spearmint cotton candy would be! She continued walking, unaware that Kara had stopped until she turned around. She mused and looked around, trying to catch sight of her friend again.
Kiessi sipped on his hot coco while they sat next to their mother. Their feet were wiggling below him when they saw a flying fish coming close to them! "Ohhhh... can I keep it, Mom?!"
Kara had stopped when she heard a group of carolers singing a holiday song. She smiled, tapping her toes to the song when one of the attendants walked toward her. "Care to try? You'll get a cute little bracelet for your troubles!"
"Oh... I don't know..." She began, trying to protest when the attendant, a junior like herself, just smiled and led her closer to the other carolers.
"Give it a try, you might surprise yourself!"
She frowned and took in a breath, pulling up the music book so she could join in. Couldn't hurt to try, right? Well, she hoped anyway..
Anara was doing her thing when she saw a pot sitting out. No one was looking over it or even seeming to care about the poor little thing, so what did she do? Well, she swiped it.. of course...
Rorie's eyes glittered when he saw a couple of children throwing snowballs at each other. He jumped where he stood and pointed enthusiastically, "Can I?" He gave his caretaker the puppy dog eyes that always seemed to convince her.
Letting out a sigh, she nodded and ushered him toward his very own bucket of snowballs to join in with the others.
Kirella nibbled her lip as she flipped the last page of her book. She yawned, stretching out as she went back toward the bookshelf to pick out another. "A Solstice Song.. eh?" She flipped it from cover to back and over again, nodding to herself before slipping back into her seat.

"Maybe I could draw little pictures of them? Doodles or something? Or I could write something really descriptive of them." Xeno chewed his lip. Drawing was not really his thing. Neither was writing--unless he could adapt someone else's writing. He needed someone else to start things so that he could finish them. It wasn't easy! "That does sound like a nice idea, though. I like it. Do you mind if I use it?"
Xeno giggled. "Dad first noticed me when I sang something really off-key. I had a cold," he added. "I thought he was mad at me at first, but then I found out that he was trying not to laugh. He's very considerate like that."
Xeno shook his head and smiled at the offered plush. He held up an identical one. "I've already got one, thanks. Um, maybe Leif would like it?" He was starting to really like Mr. Datura. He certainly seemed nice enough for Dad, at least... Xeno accepted a plushie someone else put into his lap, with a book set on top. "Thank you!" he said to the stranger, who smiled at him. He turned back to Corben. "Thank you."
Good thing neither he nor Ganymede were especially tall. He saw a few Chimeras nearby get pelted with plushes and snarl in annoyance--or squeak in joy. He smiled. Such a wide variety of reactions... He reached out to pluck a bag of candy from Ganymede's hood and hand it to him. "Looks like you've been visited by the candy fairy," he murmured. He turned back to the book selection and sighed. "I'm afraid there isn't much here that I'm interested in. I normally like books, but...I think I've got all of the books now that I can stand." He patted his stocking. "Maybe one or two classics. But I don't know. Not really my selection." He liked...well, he sort of liked romance novels? But there wasn't a lot of that there. Just two, so far as he could tell, and he'd grabbed both of them earlier in the day. "What else would you like to do?" He accepted a necklace from a passerby with a nod, then turned back to the Geist.

'Well, I'm glad he has someone to teach him! I had to learn from books as well as from people. I wanted to learn a few words they wouldn't teach me.' She smiled at the memory. Sometimes she did things...prematurely. It wasn't one of her better traits. She smiled at the plush wolf and shook her head. 'No, no, you can keep it--both of them, yours and the blue one.' She plopped the blue plush in the younger Grimm's lap. 'I can get more later. It's no trouble for me. Besides, now is a time for gift giving, and I would like to give you this one as a gift. It's nice to have plushies when you're younger.'
Indeed, a blue wolf suddenly appeared in Wyrdda's lap as someone tossed it to her, as well as a bag of candy. She smiled again. 'I see that we are a matched set now!'
Aha! There was more! Batholith grinned and went in for the kill, snatching up a copy of Island of Treasure. Another book that kept getting made into movies--what was it with directors and pirates? Especially--well, Bath wasn't much into crime movies. Never really had been, for that matter...
He slipped the book into his stocking and continued to dig around in the piles.
The Demon didn't seem to be interested, that was cool, that was okay. That just meant that there was more candy for Oriset. The silence of her companion was wearing on her, though. "Listen, I'd love to catch up with you later," she said. "But I think I'm going to set out and find some games to play. Catch you later, alright?" She clapped the Demon on the shoulder. "My name's Oriset--in case that becomes handy later. She headed out into the party once again.
It suddenly occurred to Quilo that he had no idea what sort of colors Ella liked. He'd always assumed that she liked the color pink--after all, she was pink in some places? And he himself was partial to yellows and blues, at least partially because he was himself blue and yellow. But what if it was different for Ella? What if she liked different colors? "Hey, Ella," he said. "What's your favorite color? I just realized that I've never asked you that." He accepted a bundle of teal candy canes, removed one, and handed it to her. "Would you like some?"
It looked like there were only two other books that zey had not seen yet--besides Island of Treasure was that old seasonal classic, A Solstice Song. Zalir smiled. Yes, that seemed like the perfect thing to curl up with on a winter evening. Zey slipped a copy of that into zeir stocking and looked around. If those were all of the books...where did zey go next?
Were all kids stupid? Or just Nightmare kids? "Yes, I am talking to you. I need your help vis a little...game." The kid's ears perked up. Good, that was a good sign. He finished his cup and put it away. "Do you see zat cannon over zere?" He pointed in its direction. "Because vhat I have in mind involves zat cannon." He took a quick glance around. Were there other children he could attract the attention of? Other freshlings willing to help him out? He was working on an idea in his head, furiously making plans of attack. He needed the kids to distract them. The plushies were a good bribe. Meanwhile, he could figure out who was operating that stupid thing and get them to knock it off. Seriously, people could get hurt out here, which wasn't normally the sort of thing that Kuni worried about, but in this case? It was dangerous and it was annoying, not to mention irresponsible. Someone had to get it to stop. After all, this was the Solstice! Cannons of any kind were not in the Solstice spirit!
The cannon? The plushie cannon? Vederat turned his face towards it and squinted. As if in cue, a plushie fired from it landed at his feet. He hurriedly scooped it up and brushed it off. He picked up a bracelet that lay on the ground next to it as well. He hoped they weren't too dirty. He also hoped there was more of that where it came from. He liked getting new toys. It was a rare occasion--and it was hard to win things from games. "Does it involve taking plushies? Because, um, if it were...I might be up for it. Maybe." He waggled his eyebrows at the Dryad hopefully.
What sort of things did she tinker with? Well at the moment she was really just stuck on buying models. They always came with instructions, she hadn't really been moved enough by something to pull it apart and put it together again without -really- knowing what she was doing. "I have a...good number of models in my room. I built a castle the other day! And I've built little horseless carriages as well." And bridges, all sorts of buildings, and the like. She was also quite fond of puzzles. As they made their way out of the little fun house someone slipped a bracelet into her stocking. Goodness, that thing was starting to get heavy.
"We could do that! Imagine how much stuff we'll have to tote back! Especially...if you keep picking up those plants." She was teasing of course. Se didn't quite realize just how excited he was about all of these plants until he took every opportunity that presented itself to pick one up. "Do you have a hobby you enjoy? I mean, other than caring for plants." After all, she knew about that one already because of class!

"All of my brothers are a lot older than me! Owen says I was a mid-life crisis baby! Whatever that means..." Piper shrugged, her brothers tended to be pretty funny like that. She loved her Mom anyway and was thankful for whatever reason she had for adopting her that day from the orphanage. She didn't get to see her brother's all that often because they were busy being adults themselves, but she loved them and she knew they loved her. That was what mattered!
"Ah well, I'm definitely not a good Doctor yet either!" Piper gave a little nod and received a new bag of candy for her stocking. The candy seemed to attract a little glowing wisp. It was pretty cute, were these familiars? They reminded her of the lights on the trees!
"That's a nice n--" She watched the litch curiously as he marched away, and she followed behind him. Seeing him reach for the earrings, she took it upon herself to aid him and hand him the earrings he were so eagerly reaching for. "I'm Estys," she said, obviously a little desperate to get some form of socialization with them freshling.
She hadn't been to this booth before, so she did decided to take a look around it. She noted how it was filled with all sorts of wintery trinkets and goodies. While the snacks made her mouth water, she pushed the need to pick one out and instead reached out to a particular snow globe caught her eye - two small nightmare figurines were making a snowman together. Estys picked it up and grinned, showing it to the small litch. "Lilan, have you ever seen a snow globe before?" she asked. Perhaps she could awe the babbin by shaking the globe and showing him how it 'snows' inside.
Camrine nodded and said "Yes I use knitting needles now, but when I was a freshling, I started learning with a loom, it was just a small loom made of wood. You see I was able to set up the yarn and use a small tool to make small things. It was where I started learning and playing with the idea of knitting." Cam said warmly. Camrine smiled "Yes it was, Oh you play music?? I hope you'll play for me sometime." Cam said. She laughed "I don't feel obligated, I want to if you would like a sweater or scarf" she said shyly hoping, he didn't think she was hitting on him. Though Camrine did think that Fig was kinda cute. Camrine smiled "Good shot Fig" she laughed watching the Nixie swim around the drunk tank. Then she thought about his next question and said. "Humm lets go find another game, you pick this time, since I picked the last game"
