The dainty Sun tensed as she was moved, breath catching in her throat, a reactive yelp bitten back. There was no comfortable position. There was only agony, and slightly less agony. She'd clung to Lex, stubbornly, but now she was limp in Otto's arms. Tanned skin beginning to take on a vaguely ashen tone, and there was a fine tremble starting in her hands. Shock was setting in, unsurprisingly, and that slim figure was just a touch cool.
With a frown she curled small fingers into Otto's shirt and gave a soft tug. "How much time do we have left?" Before the base blew, and quite possibly took them all with it.

She made a soft hum of agreement. It was probably better that they didn't know. If s**t was going to descend to that level, it was probably better if they weren't counting down the seconds. Probably.
The hand on her back was appreciated. It didn't really distract from the pain, but it was comforting all the same, and the dainty blonde actually smiled. He couldn't see it, not the way he was holding her, but he'd hear it in her voice when she spoke again. "I'm sorry I'm always such a pain in the a**." Forcing family ties on him. "It's cause I care, you know." This wasn't one of those speeches one reserved for what might possibly be their last moments alive. It was, however, a suitable distraction.
From the pain, from the deaths, from the dire situation they had found themselves in.

Just as he'd promised, Robert ran right behind Mimsy and Shu, making sure they made it safely to the portal. The sight of it was like a beacon of hope, beckoning them back to - to what? What would they find when they got back? Their facility was still under siege when they'd been transported, there was no assurance of safety once they got home, like there usually was. Nowhere felt safe.
The portal itself twisted and bent, and he slowed in his tracks, staring up at it. The scenery around it, the people, everything twisted into a swirling vortex of color and light and wrong. Robert fell to his knees, keeping his arm firmly on Mark's body even as he swerved dangerously, and fell face first into the ground like a chopped down tree.

And run she did. That's what she was good at. She didn't think about the weight of Mark's weapon tablet clutched to her side, butting against her ribs. All thought and energy was placed with which path was most efficient, what had less debris, less bodies to get around. She couldn't spare any air to talk and was glad, by a modicum, to be outside before the building detonated.
But as they approached, the world began to distort. Stormy assumed it was her nerves finally beginning to break down and approached it as calmly as possible. Her steps began to stagger nevertheless, though, and she slid out from under Gale's arm (hoping Jinhai had worked his magic enough to deal with the bullet wound), gulping deep breaths.
"I'm fine," she murmured absently to Gale, appearing steady for a moment. She was clutching his shoulder now. "I'm fine, you're fine, we're fine, promised . . ." But the portal seemed off. It distorted and was ringed with auras, and the more Stormy looked at it, the dizzier and darker it became.
She clutched both him and the tablet tighter on instinct as if they would be taken away, though the hand on Gale began to drag down his arm as she found the ground, first her knees and the rest of her following suit. Her own bullet wound throbbed painfully, but she couldn't be bothered to address it, the tablet half under her like a stony pillow.
Sleep sounded nice.

They were running towards the lighthouse, Ian's hand gripped tightly in his own, and he was pulling Quinn along too, towards safety, towards home. The portal was ahead, just formed and glimmering but something wasn't right, something was off. Shiloh felt his feet hit the ground, one after the other but something wasn't right, the atmosphere around them had changed, flickering against his consciousness, there and then not and then suddenly, not there at all.
Everything went black and the last thing he saw was the ground rushing towards him, the last thing he felt was the weight of Ian's hand, tugging him back and then it was dark.
There was nothing left but darkness.

Jordan stayed at the door of the lighthouse, waiting and watching the path as other hunters hurried in, watching for two in particular. He hadn't gotten a good count of everyone who was here, didn't know everyone's names, but he could at least watch for the people he cared about, wait for his guys. If they didn't - he couldn't let his mind even start down that path. He turned his thoughts deliberately away, thinking about the injured already here instead. They'd get back to the island, get them to the infirmary. Not long now.
When Rep and Harrison turned up, Jordan moved to meet them, but his steps faltered and his eyes went wide with horror as he realized who they were carrying, what they were carrying. "Allan? Simon?" His voice stayed very quiet, almost inaudible. It didn't look like any of the blood on Rep or Harrison was their own, but the relief over that was swept away by sheer shock.
The portal formed, and he started to turn toward it.
Things twisted. Accelerated. Warped.

As soon as the portal was open, Otto surged forward. He had an injured and likely very tired cousin to be seen to, and a certain dark haired friend to smack for her kissy faces. Small and wonderful distractions from the imposing situation.
However, everything began to blur and unfocus as soon as he was in the training fields. He felt weak, wobbly, drifting.
In what little that was left of his will, he slowly brought himself to his knees. He wanted to fall down and collapse, but he had precious cargo to protect. With as much care as his weakening limbs could muster, he set Peyton down. Once he did, everything went black.
