☽ Emma was caught off guard by Herald's attack and was sent flying backwards from it. She slammed into the ground a few yards away and laid there for a moment before jumping up rather quickly for how injured she was now. She kept a serious expression on her face as she eyed Herald while her body was covered in burns and some blood. She didn't attack and just stood there, waiting. As she watched, her eyes flickered violet a couple of times. ☾

Never Again...Herald turned to face Emma as she got to her feet, watching her just as she watched him. After a moment a smile crept across his face. He'd been wanting to use this ability, but he'd been saving it. He decided he would test it now. He took a deep breath. "Afterburn!" he roared. The green marks all over his body began to glow brighter, releasing flames of green energy. The green energy that was already around him swirled hotter and brighter than before. The air around Herald would heat up to intense degrees. If Emma got near him, she would find it harder and harder to breathe. Herald raised both his clawed hands towards her and fired a blast of green resonance force out of them straight at her. The beams streaked across the battlefield, coming much faster and with much more power than the previous attacks he had used. The ability had clearly raised Herald's attributes a great deal. Will I be bound in chains

☽ Emma quickly reacted, putting one huge hand in front of her and creating a barrier seconds before the attack hit. She was pushed back slightly as the force of the attack hit the barrier around her. She kept the barrier up for a few moments before it shattered and the rest of the attack came at her. Smoke went up as well as dust for a few moments before a huge blast of black flames came streaming towards Herald before splitting into multiple streams and coming at him from different directions. The smoke cleared enough to reveal Emma still standing though one of her clawed arms was now gone, leaving behind a stump made of dark matter. Red vein like tattoos began extending from her neck to her one arm as the claw began to regenerate. She had a frown on her face and was beginning to breath heavily as she watched to see if the attack would hit. ☾

Never Again...Herald looked up as Emma's attack came towards him. The green energy around him lanced upwards destroying some of the blue fire before it could reach him but some of the blows landed, leaving scorches and burn marks across his body. He growled as the green energy burned brighter. He noticed she had lost one clawed hand and used his phase shift ability to move forward, appearing in front of her with a barrage of attacks from both of his clawed hands in addition to the green energy that aimed to hit her from every direction and the super-heated air that would make it harder for her to breathe. He was pressing the advantage he had to its fullest while she still had a missing limb. One of the first tactics he had learned in the arenas. Will I be bound in chains

☽ Emma moved her only working hand up to take the blows in front of her, creating barrier after barrier to take a majority of the hits Herald threw her direction. She continued getting beaten despite that. This caused her eyes to glow a bright violet and the red veins to extend towards her face as her instincts began to naturally kick in at this point due to the feeling of her life being in danger with the amount of hits she was taking as well as the amount of heat she felt. Black flames began appearing on her body and extended to create a temporary claws before she managed to raise both up and launch a powerful blast of energy, not aiming to attack Herald but to use it to launch her backwards. She flew backwards before landing and unleashing a huge wave of black flames at Herald followed by an explosion of her wavelength. A small growl came from her as she was in a defensive stance, her hand beginning to rapidly regenerate. ☾

Never Again...Herald forced his way through Emma's flames, allowing himself to take the damage. He had more than enough stamina to spare in this form. The blast knocked him backwards and he almost fell, but quickly used his own burst of resonance force to push himself back to his feet in mid-fall. He pressed his attack again, trying to cause as much damage to her as possible before her hand could fully regenerate to defend herself. He launched himself up and over her, firing several bursts of flame in close proximity as he landed behind her, lashing out with his clawed hand in an attempt to hit her directly across the face as hard as he could. Will I be bound in chains

☽ Emma managed to evade the flames for the most part but was caught off guard by his next attack, she took the hit on her face head on and was launched across the field they were on. Like a rag doll, she flew through the air before coming to a halt face down on the ground. It seemed like she was knocked out for a few moments. The red veins on her body suddenly began pulsing and glowing with energy. Her claw suddenly regenerated the rest of the way as madness filled the air around. Emma got up slowly then, swaying slightly before she smirked, her eyes glowing rather brightly now. She claws extended slightly before she slammed both huge hands into the ground, a inferno of flames erupted from the ground and charged over to Herald. She used the flames as a cover and charged at him, hiding behind the flames before launching up in the air to allow the flames to try and hit him first before she swung one huge claw down at him. ☾

Never Again...Herald smiled as his attack landed, watching Emma go flying backwards. He walked towards her as she got to her feet, leaving flaming footprints in the ground behind him. When the inferno of flames erupted around him, Herald quickly raised his arms. The fire slammed into him, scorching all up and down his arms. He grimaced in pain but managed to prevent the fire from hitting his body. He lowered his arms in time to see Emma's attack coming. She was too fast for him to dodge and he felt her claws bite into his shoulder, drawing a spray of blood. As her attack landed, he raised his arms to try and grab her. If he succeeded, he would use the energy and heat swirling around them to attack her again as well as attempt to headbutt her as hard as he could. Will I be bound in chains

☽ Due to Emma's body straining with her current injuries, she was unable to really dodge when he grabbed her. She struggled when this happened but was quickly hit with both attacks, the headbutt especially caused massive damage to her due to how hard it it. She frantically struggled in his grip still, clawing at him to get away before managing to get loose. She jumped back before stumbling, kneeling on the ground and growling slightly as her body was becoming unable to continue. For a second, rage began filling her eyes as she tried to get back up and try and attack Herald once more but that all ended rather quickly. Emma's vision became blurred then as she swayed slightly and fell on the ground, unconscious. Her claws began to crumble away as she reverted back into her normal form. ☾

Never Again...Herald gave a small smile as he saw Emma return to her normal form, partially because it meant he won the battle and partially because she had returned to the form he knew so well. The fire and energy around him faded back to its normal glow as he walked over to where she was, bending down and scooping her up in his arms. He carried her off the field and up the winding path to the fortress. Waiting at the door were the spirits Herald had created to take care of Emma and the realm. He laid Emma at their feet and they began to heal her as they had when the two of them had arrived from their battle with Divine. One of the spirits came towards him as it attempted to begin healing him as well, but he took it by the shoulder and turned it around, slowly pushing it back towards Emma. It got the hint and went over to Emma as well, focusing its power with the others as they healed her. Herald turned back to face the battle-scarred field and closed his eyes as he focused on rebuilding everything that had been destroyed during the battle. Will I be bound in chains

☽ While the beings healed Emma, she remained unconscious for a couple of minutes. Eventually, once some energy came back, she woke up, wincing slightly as the light from the room went into her eyes. She reached up and grabbed her head as she was being healed. She recalled some of the battle but then some of it was fuzzy which she hated knowing. She was able to recall the last part "Why a headbutt?" she asked with a groan "It feels like my head is constantly being bashed in right now." she told Herald as she closed her eyes again since she had one hell of a headache. ☾

Never Again...Herald opened his eyes and turned slightly to look at her. "You got close enough," he replied. "Besides, you always tell me I have a hard head. I wanted to test it out." He turned back to the realm and closed his eyes again, focusing on repairing the last pieces of it before turning back to her again. "I suppose you still stand by that?"Will I be bound in chains

☽ Emma snickered slightly before wincing "It hurts to even talk right now so yeah." she answered before going quiet again while waiting for the spirits to finish healing her. ☾

Never Again...Herald flashed back to his human form, giving Emma a small smile. "That should go away soon enough," he told her as the spirits finished healing her. They proceeded to Herald and began healing him as well, focusing mostly on his shoulder and his burned arms. "You seem better able to control your third form than when we first started training," he observed. Will I be bound in chains

☽ Emma sat up, rubbing her eyes for a moment "It isn't enough though... I still can't remember a few parts of the fight..." she said as she sat there. Eventually she stood up, wincing at the pounding in her head which was beginning to fade. ☾
