In response to Lloyd's question, Gilgamesh gazed skyward with a fist reverentially placed upon his chest. He stared into space as he dreamily replied. "Excalibur, you say?... Excalibur is the strongest of swords. Spannin' many worlds. Its legacy as the sword of kings-" He snapped to attention at Lord's comment, snapping back at him. "Cue-ball? Does my name sound like Q-Gamesh to you?!" He shook his fist at Lord in a vaguely menacing fashion. The moment was officially ruined.
Gilgamesh settled down after listening further. "So what you're sayin'... is that the gummy bears were actually evil? Now that's a plot twist! It seems like every time I turn around there's a corrupt church or some kinda evil god!" He made some sort of strange hand sign as he chuckled to himself.
Chuckling to himself, he swaggered over to Dart and Lloyd. "Lemme see!" He posititioned himself to (rather obtrusively) look over Dart's shoulder at the maps. He muttered to himself for a moment before shrugging and backing off. "I got nothin'. Looks like we're lost!" He thumped his chest. "But you can just leave it to your old pal Gilgamesh! I'm the best explorer/swordsman this side of the Rift (or the other side of the same)!"

Vash disappeared into the fortuneteller's tent, then promptly reemerged with an improvised turban and robes (the latter of which was just some kind of tablecloth), pushing out a table with a crystal ball on it. He proceeded to slowly wave his arms around in what he hoped was an eerie fashion.
"Wooooo!~ Hello, everyone! Today I see good omens, clad in strange garb... Like a stylish red coat!" He thrust his hand toward the approaching crowd, opening it to reveal a thumbs-up sign.
"So I'll read everybody's fortunes for free! Limited time only!" Whether his shoddy ruse worked or not, there would be distraction enough for Scythe and Lee to escape or do something. |

Sesshōmaru looked at Emil as he bought a room for him and Rin. He would have objected, seeing how he could survive the night just fine, but....The demon had Rin to consider. She should have an actual bed instead of grass or stone street. "What boat is that?" "Lord Sesshōmaru, you're supposed to say thank you when someone does something nice for you. Even InuYasha says it." His eyes closed halfway in annoyance. Maybe it was because InuYasha said thank you that Sesshōmaru didn't want to. Rin pulled his cheek, silently pestering him to show some manners. "...Thank you for your help." He rubbed his cheek when Rin let go with a happy smile, and he resisted the urge to growl.

Sheena ran up to Lutz after he defeated the wolf pup, having seen the end of his battle. "You alright? I have some lemon gels in my bag....Here." Where were the two dogs they arrived to town with? Sheena hoped they were alright. She noticed more monsters and frowned. There were so many. "At least they can't blame Emil this time around. Sylph, help me out!" The three wind sisters appeared and struck the monsters in succession, attacking the whole group of monsters that was charging for Sheena and Lutz. The trio disappeared after their attack, leaving behind only a few monsters. "I think everyone's nearly evacuated. I'm going to go check. If you need to, get out of town with the others."

Daermod relaxed a bit when the battle ended, thanks to the help of a very seriou-looking man with some kind of dog thing next to him. Pascal and Serenity?...The two women who were there fighting when we arrived maybe? He looked over when a girl, also with a dog-like thing and a dragon came up to them. She was cute. Not that he'd ever admit that. "And, do you have a place for the townspeople? I don't think they'd appreciate it if you don't have an actual plan. Especially their tempermental mayor."
Chani continued to fight off the monsters that began to horde around Asgard, using both spells and martial artes. She noticed the summonin of a machine by one of the women and a clock monster ally thing from the other. This was an interesting group~! "Photon!" A sphere of light surrounded and stuck a ghost that emerged from the town, and she ran forward to defend the townspeople from them. Where was her brother? She hoped he was alright.

So, Hubert didn't know where she was either. That was a bit worrying. "No. I'll search for her. You two can--" He didn't get to finish. It was almost immediately after Hubert spoke that their female companion found them, her dragon leading a family of long-necked reptiles from town. "I think we're all relatively unharmed. And, you? Where have you been?" The white-haired male suddenly spoke up, asking about their plan for the citizens, and Gaius frowned. He didn't have a clue, but anywhere was safer than the town right now. "...I saw a tower west of the House of Salvation. Is that a safe location?"

Euphie looked at Gaius and then their new companion. He had a point. They could just lead them somewhere without a plan. It would probably be dangerous. "Who are you, if you don't mind me asking? Are you native to the area?" She looked at Gaius when he mentioned a tower. Would it really be safe? Sounded a bit suspicious....And, was that an Absol with him? Where did it come from?

Lloyd tilted his head. End...what? He had no clue what that was. "A map of what? I don't....Pretty sure there's nothing with that name around here." The world's strongest sword? That would probably be the Eternal Sword. "You can't have it. Plain and simple. The Eternal Sword was entrusted to me, and you wouldn't be able to touch it anyway." He frowned at the memory. Thinking about the sword made him think of Kratos, which he didn't know whether because Kratos did so much to help Lloyd wield it or because he had fought him so many times on the journey. It was just a bundle of mixed feelings. "...Kind of. You're not entirely wrong. Except for the dimension thing. Sylvarant and Tethe'alla existed next to each other until recently. Before my friends and I used the Eternal Sword to reunite them." He always said he and his friends, but it was really just him and Colette who actually used the sword. But....The two didn't want to brag about it. If it weren't for the others, neither of them would have been able to do anything.

Mikhail didn't know what was going on. He had just noticed a weird warp thing in the clouds, and being the curious creature he was, he went to have a look. That was a mistake. When he got close enough, the warp began to suck him in, and despite his near wing-breaking efforts, he failed to get away. What's worse, a red wyvern xame through with him! Who'd it think it was, flying over like it owned the skies? Sure, wyverns didn't have legs so they couldn't land and...Mikhail probably invaded it's territory....But, it was a stupid wyvern, and it didn't have the right to exist in the same world as dragons! When he came back through the warp, Mikhail was above a mountain and, a bit disoriented, landed at the summit. What had just happened? This wasn't the Land of Sands, or even the Land of Mountains. It could be the massive mountainous region, but it wasn't. The mountains didn't span nearly as far. Plus, it was mostly cliffs. It was called the Land of Mountains for a reason, not the Land of Cliffs.
"A new land?...Is that a city? It's so tiny from up here." Distracted by the sights of the unfamiliar land, he failed to notice the large red wyvern behind him, carrying a massive boulder, before it was too late. He turned and was hit by the rock, the wyvern flying off as Mikhail tumbled to the base of the mountain. He hit the ground, and the boulder landed on him, pinning him down. Mikhail wasn't able to get it off him. Was it because he was still disoriented? No. Was he hunger or tired? Not one bit. Truth was, he was just too weak to lift it. If wyverns had anything going for them, it was their strength. And, yes. It made him sick to admit wyverns had anything going for them.
Mikhail remained pinned for a few hours, occassionally calling out for help, but fell quiet for awhile. It wasn't until he heard footsteps coming from the summit that he lifted his head a bit. Was there someone there, or was he just hearing things? Sniffing the air, Mikhail could definitely smell a living being. Lots of them actually, though only one human smell. Human? Eh....Had a strange scent to it, but was definitely a human. "Is anyone there? I need help....Hello?"
OOC I through a ton of entertaining, Mikhail-appropriate meetings for them. This seemed most appropriate.
There's also a giant red wyvern flying around Tethe'alla for him to get angry at later! Yay!

Likaia and Repede had met up near the bridge, and continued to evacuate the two children together. While Repede carried them, Likaia fought the monsters to keep them off him. They soon spotted Sheena and Lutz, and Likaia ran up to them. "Are you two hurt? The citizens have mostly escaped town. I doubt we can save the rest in time. The Shadow has probably gotten to them if they haven't gotten out yet." Did she want to leave them? No. But, humans weren't at the top of her priority list, and she knew not everyone could be saved. "Repede and I are going on ahead. These children need to get to their parents. It'd be best if you followed." Repede's ears went down. Likaia was the tyoe to keep moving. He trusted she had her reasons, or thought things through, but....That was cold. Regardless, he had to follow her. He had two kids on his back, one of which stunk and the other shaking like a freezing old woman.

Okay, so he got to the bridge and cheated by flying over it. The bridge was just...too long. They needed some sort of rail or something, but it'd be difficult situating that onto a drawbridge. So....Yeah. He was a cheater. But, he did land and walk the rest of the way to Meltokio when he got to land again. If that counted for anything. When he got to Meltokio, he was greeted with the usual cheerful hellos and good days, to which he responded with his own. He headed for the palace, but stopped when he heard that Emil was in the city. What was he doing all the way out here? Meltokio was a long way from Luin. "Bad time for a visit, Emil. I can't skip out this time." He could always look for him in a bit. Emil could be at his manor or the castle for all Zelos knew.

The first thing that Roy noticed when he'd stepped through the false portal was that the air here was distinctly different from Central — warm, clean, and clearly not the dead of winter. The second was the wavering of the portal itself. He snapped around, instinctively reaching to stabilize it, but it vanished before he could manage it. Great. Was hoping I wouldn't get stuck here, wherever here is.
Well, he'd studied enough of the theory of the things that he could probably figure out a way to get back if he desperately needed to. He didn't, for the moment. So where was he? He looked around, analyzing the place he found himself in.
It seemed to be a rolling, mountainous region, and from this small ridge he could see a long way. Not too heavily wooded, and comfortable for the moment. He wondered what it would be like when the sun went down. No sense staying up here to find out. Roy might be military-trained, but that didn't mean he didn't appreciate the comforts of the city. He angled down the mountainside, following a narrow footpath.
He was nearing the base of the mountain when he heard a voice calling for help, though something about it seemed strangely resonant and unusual. Rounding a series of enormous boulders, he came face-to-face with ...
... what was it? Roy would have sworn blind in a military tribunal that it was some sort of chimera, but there was no way this creature was a chimera. It looked far too comfortable in its own skin — which was an odd thing to say for what appeared to be a dragon pinned to the ground by a boulder.
It was to his credit that he shook off the surprise quickly. I'm definitely not in Amestria any more. "I'm here," he answered the question he'd overheard. He advanced cautiously into its field of vision, feeling uneasy at the number of unknowns. After all, where he came from, dragons were both a fairy tale and well-reputed for eating humans. "Are you injured?" |

Rhone deliberates for a moment while looking Yuan over before something catches his eye.
I see a wedding band...but no one around. Perhaps this man and myself have more in common than I thought...
He concentrates for a moment before summoning a red crystal in his hand, tossing it to Yuan.
"Here. I, too, have made a promise to someone no longer here that I'd protect this world. Talking into that crystal gives a direct link to my mind. Give me a call if something bad happens to the tree. You don't have to like me to fight alongside me. Allies are allies, right?"
He turns back to the rest of the group and starts walking towards the exit, Solaire following behind him.
"Guess we should do something about this whole evil energy thing, eh? Lead on, friends." |
