"We've been staying in one of the boathouses during our stay," Ryu explained, "It's easier on us, and then we've just been going around the city getting to know people. Sometimes out of boredom Feng will put on a show."
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes because Feng grabbed his arm and added.
"And Ryu joins in too, and Naida, but most of the time Naida plays with her new friends."
Putting on shows as it were wasn't something new to the mers. It was the only thing they did as a 'job' was that they did shows on occasion. Feng danced with fans (real fans not battle fans) but Ryu knew a few sword dances as well, and Naida could play music, so it all suited them.

"Speaking of friends," River spoke up, "Naida, have Ta'neer and Dwr come to terms yet? Or is Dwr still being as dense as ever?"
Jess, Aranxia and Aennan all snickered, though all three of them also tried to hide it.

Naida pouted at this, she really did hope the two would resolve things before she left. Otherwise she might have to take drastic action, even if she wasn't quite sure what that action might be.
"No...." she pouted, "I wish they would though. No wonder why Aysu rolls her eyes so much at them."

"We should do something about it," River decided, grinning mischievously. "I mean, really, he's gotta be the densest person I've ever heard of."
Earendil was confused. "What's all this about?" he asked. "I don't believe we've met these people ..."

Feng giggled, because Naida had told her and Ryu about the friends that she had made. Really, it sounded so funny to her.
"Ta'neer and Dwr are two of Naida's friends along with Ta'neer's twin sister Aysu. Apparently... Ta'neer likes Dwr, and Dwr...."
"Likes Ta'neer, he must since he's always overing trying when Ta'neer is around," Naida spoke up, "And but he doesn't really realizing he's doing it, or that sometimes when he's trying to impress, without knowing it, it annoys Ta'neer sometimes."
Feng looked even more amused, "So from what I manage to gather, there's a some tension between the two, because Ta'neer likes Dwr and he is apparently giving mix messages."
"It's been a bit hard to get Feng not to spy on those two," Ryu muttered, "She thinks it's kind of funny."
"It was," Naida admitted, "The first few times, now I just want to chain them together or something!"

"They are friends of mine as well," Aennan spoke up, grinning, "and I must add, this has been going on for about three years now. Dwr just does not seem to be able to understand that his idiocy is not helping him."
"I wonder then if perhaps what your friend needs is an ultimatum," Jasmine mused aloud. "If faced with the prospect of losing the one he cares for, he might make up his mind. It has worked for others."
"And others just need a kick," Earendil added ruefully. "Myself included."

Lin laughed and leaned against Earendil as she did so.
"I wouldn't have called it so much of a kick, as a combination of misunderstanding, stubborn children and teasing relatives," she told him.
Since really, that had been chaos back then and she didn't even know it until she looked back on it.

"Oh, trust me, there were some pretty solid mental kicks," Earendil assured her with a chuckle. "You weren't here for all of it, after all."
Daeron chuckled. He knew what that was about.
"What have you all been up to?" he asked, directing his question to Arwen, Roydon, Kelirahc and Leyenda. "I don't think I've seen any of you since we got here, until today."
"Well, believe it or not," Leyenda smiled calmly, "we're looking for a place to build a home. We've been traveling for ten years, Amalirahc doesn't even know what a home really is. And now that Aravah is a year old ... well, things are a bit different. And I have to be honest, we can't think of a better place than this to settle."
"This place is a better paradise than Nauros and all its beauty, the peace of Amon Darthir ..." Kelirahc's golden eyes shone brightly. "And there are so many opportunities here for the children. They need stability - especially Amalirahc, as he is growing older."

Lin nodded at this, she knew her and Earendil had talked about settling for a home on and off. It just wasn't the right time yet, though she had a feeling the children would be grown before they decided to settle. At the rate they were going at any rate.
Miyuki looked over at Amalirahc, "Are you looking forward to that?"
She knew when she was younger, she always thought about having one home, though she had gotten to the point in her life she couldn't imagine not traveling.

Amalirahc looked back at Miyuki, and for what was quite possibly the first time in his life, he looked uncertain.
"I don't know," he admitted. "We've never been anywhere longer than a month before. Not without visiting another place at least."
He fidgeted a bit and glanced at his baby sister. "But on the other hand, I think it would be nice to have a house and a room and not worry about where we might be going or how long to be there and stuff like that," he murmured. "And it'll mean I can spend more time with Aravah just having fun ..."

She could see the uncertainly, and so Miyuki offered, "And it's not like it'll be forever. Who knows, maybe one day when you're an adult you'll want to travel, or maybe travel when Aravah is all grown up and can enjoy seeing places herself."
She looked at Amalirahc, she knew that one had to prove that they were an adult to get a mark, but who knew, maybe Amalirahc would do that too one day.

Amalirahc nodded slowly and offered up a brave smile. "Yeah. And I'll see you again sometime, too. When you're done traveling, maybe."
"And who else haven't we heard from yet?" This time it was River who spoke up, her eyes bright. "Lancaeriel, Wren, Emile ..."
"Lady Wren and I have been getting to know the people and the city," Lancaeriel offered, "though admittedly we have also been chaperoning, I suppose."
Aranxia blushed again, and Earendil chuckled. "Well, at least we know my niece is in good hands," he grinned.

Miyuki giggled at that, it seemed that Aranxia didn't catch any breaks.
"Though Lancaeriel still do keep up lessons, maybe not as much as before since well..." Miyuki looked sheepishly at Lancaeriel.
She had been getting very caught up in her work, but she (or rather Senka) reminded her enough to take time out for other lessons. Mainly illusions, she loved illusions, even if it was just light making at the moment.
She didn't know why that was though.

Lancaeriel smiled at Miyuki. "Well, we'll be able to pick up more with the lessons when we're traveling again," she assured her. "Don't worry too much about it."
She turned to Emile, who had yet to speak. "What about you? What have you been up to?" she asked him with a smile.
Emile ran his fingers through his hair. "Well," he answered slowly, "I've been thinking of settling down here. I love to travel, sure, but ... this place is everything I could ever hope for. I'd be mad to leave it behind."

Lin could understand why, here Emile would belong, more than he did in the Human Southland. It was a good place to settle, she knew her and Earendil had considered it briefly when talking about what they would do if they were to settle.
"That's understandable, I'm glad you've found somewhere you love enough to stay," Lin replied with a smile.
