"I found my microchip" Ray mumbled trough his arm, he felt tired and far too warm to be in where ever it was they were. He heard that dogs ate grass when they were unwell so should he to eat grass? He lifted his head to look at her, his eyes could only stay half open. His face was flushed as red as his hair. "could it be a bad infection duck?" he said hearing some of his old accent coming through (a mix of Aberdeen and Liverpool).

Leon looked at the back of Ray's shoulder. There were signs of blood poisoning on his shoulder. "We need to get to a hotel room," he told Katriel. "I need a bathtub larger than that closet you have to clean this." Katriel swore under her breath. "I don't have that kind of cash. Can't you do something on the bed?" "Kat, I'm not a pauper. I'll take care of it. Just find us a clean hotel," Leon said. He helped Ray stand up and they left the juice bar. Back at the truck, Leon held Ray and inspected his shoulder. Katriel found a small hotel and took over carrying Ray as Leon paid for the room. They brought him in and Katriel set him down in the bath tub. Leon brought in a medic bag and rolled up his sleeves.

Ray could barely understand what was going on around him, he couldn't be sure if they were still at the place where they had the grass juice or if they had moved on. He could feel himself standing and emptyied his stomach on whoever it was that had held him first. He mumbled out an apology to who ever it was before he felt someone else hold him. He had to close his eyes, he felt sick with them open. He felt something cold against his skin soon after which made him groan. First the donut from hell had ran through him and now he was ill beyond belief! He wanted Katriel to tell him that he'd be ok, he wanted Leon to help him! He breathed deeply trying to not be sick again.

Leon took out a scalpel and cut open the infected area. Using a set of tweezers, he extracted what looked like a popped capsule. "I think the bastards left something, in case the slave managed to remove the chip himself," he growled. "10-to-1 it's a poison of some sort." He went back to work and cut out the rest of the small implant. He swabbed the area and doused it with alcohol. Then he stitched it back up. He put together a cocktail of antibiotics, antihistamines, and antitoxins and gave Ray the shot in his rump. Hopefully that would give Ray the edge he needed to fight whatever had been in the capsule.

Ray hissed and cried when he felt something cut into his very skin, he thought he was back at the store and getting punished for leaving. He knew that the owner planted things into him when he first entered the store, something about silver particals in a solution with rat poison? He coughed violently as he shivered in whatever he was lying in. He could smell Leon but couldn't find the mans hand "Leon!" he coughed out trying to find the man as the pain in his shoulder intenseified. He felt a needle go into his rump and thought that the manager was trying to hurt him by injecting something into him. He felt the stitches in his flesh which felt as though it was burning, "Leon where are you!" he cried/ coughed, he could barely breathe, tears streamed down his face as fire ran through his blood.

Katriel watched, tears in her eyes. She knew Leon was doing his best, but it broke her heart to see Ray in so much pain. "I'm here," Leon said, his voice deep and reassuring. "You're going to be ok. Do you know what sort of poison the shop would use on you?"

Ray heaved and puked on himself, his vomit burning his skin slightly. He hoped that Leon would know silver burns on werewolves at the very least. He was thankful that the older man was there but he wanted to be held by the man so that he knew for sure that he was indeed safe. "Rat poison and silver" he just about managed to say through coughs and splutters. His chest hurt and he couldn't open his eyes.

It's a cleating agent--" "Bonds with the silver," Leon finished. He looked through his bag. "I don't have any." "I do. In the glove box of the truck. It's disguised as an eppy-pen," Katriel said. Leon lept up and ran outside. Katriel kept the cool water on Ray, washing away the blood and vomit. Soon Leon was back and he gave Ray the shot. "Brilliant bit of work, this," he said, holding up the eppy-pen. "My mate thought of it. He knew we needed something in case of emergencies in human populations, and this saved more than one life," she said. "I just hope we got it in Ray in time."

Ray thought that he heard his elder pack swear, he wondered if Leon could handle silver. He hoped that the man could. His entire body was shaking as his very blood soared with fire and ran through his body. He felt himself being sick again, he cried in pain as he did so. He felt cold water hit his body which made him yelp in surprise he felt the water clean him of his vomit and blood. He wanted someone to hold him and he wanted to get out of whatever he was in. He felt yet another needle go into him, he felt some form liquid flow into his blood cooling the fire within. He almost sighed in relief! He breathed deeply, with each breathe the fire seemed to die a little bit more. His chest still ached and his eyes wouldn't open. He could hear voices around him, Katriels, Leons, the managers and his mothers. He moved around trying to find his older pack mates as he wanted to know they were still around and near by. His mother told him that his father was on his way from Britain and should be there within the next couple of days.

Leon checked Ray's vitals and he seemed to be recovering. When he wasn't vomiting anymore, Leon used a towel to scoop him up. He took him to the hotel bed and dried him off. Then he and Katriel tucked him into bed. Katriel sat beside him and stroked his forehead. "I think he's over the worst of it," Leon said. "I wish I had a manual for treating lycans. It's not exactly something covered in vet school."

Ray tried to open his eyes as he felt himself being moved again, he wondered where he was and what was happening. He felt someone stroke his forehead and felt safe with the person, they were chasing away the managers words! He smiled at the feeling of the soft touch, he hoped it was Katriel who was touching him. He hoped that Leon wouldn't hate him anymore but he didn't know if the man would ever like him.

All Katriel and Leon could do was wait. They sat on either side of Ray and surfed the basic cable channels provided by the hotel. The hours ticked by slowly.

Ray slowly opened his eyes after hours of trying, he had had a nap within that time as well. He was bored and hungry! He looked at them and sat up wondering what they were doing looking at the telly. The news came on as they were surfing the channels with a picture of his father on the screen. He couldn't catch what it was about as they changed channels o quickly "Wait go back to the news!" he begged them as he wished to know what the report was about.

Leon jumped a little at Ray's sudden exclamation but obligingly returned to the news broadcast. The man who looked like Ray was talking. Leon and Katriel exchanged a glance.

The man and the news reporter spoke for a few minutes, when asked what he was going to do after he got out he replied with a 'find my son'. The man smiled at the camera. "John don't you think you should rest first?" the reporter asked him "No I wish to hold my boy sooner rather than later" John replied still smiling at the camera, it was almost as if he knew that Ray was watching the news from where he was! The camera zoomed to Elizabeth whom was still in a comatose state. The reporter ended by saying that although John was awake there was no gaurntee that Elizabeth would wake up. Ray couldn't help but smile when he saw his father on the screen, he was alive!
